All of a sudden I really didn't feel like cooking what I had planned, so I asked the Queen Bee if she wanted pizza, Chinese or some other form of takeout. Lo and behold, after calling several which all turned out to be closed, it appeared that this place did too.Not even 15 seconds after I hung up, the phone rings. It was the owner, Mr. Lee! Since I've never ordered anything from here, I asked a few simple questions about their menu (I added a few photos so you can see for yourself). He has patient and friendly phone manner, with clear enough English to understand with little to no difficulty.Apps were Krab Rangoon for her; spring roll for me. The former was actually tasty and crisp. I usually don't care for it because it is usually just cream cheese in an over-fried wonton skin. Spring roll was full of veggies and with just enough crispy texture. Oil didn't seem too old or overused either, which is pretty good for a Chinese take out.Since I didn't have access to any menu or picture thereof (I called from home), I kept it pretty basic. Shrimp in garlic sauce, shrimp fried rice and veggie lo mein. The shrimp w. garlic sauce was chock full of veggies and around a dozen medium sized shrimp. Shrimp didn't taste old and they were not chewy (same is true of the smaller shrimp in fried rice) either. This is the first time we have ever had this dish served in a brown sauce. The garlic certainly appeared perceptible; otherwise the sauce tasted more sweet than anything else. Hmmm.Fried rice had a good amount of shrimp; of course they were of a smaller size as one might guess. Decent amount of onion, carrot, peas, onion and scallion with a wee bit o' egg. Flavorful but a wee bit on the dry side; I don't add duck sauce or any other condiment to Chinese grub. He made it nice and dark just like I asked; I don't like yellow fried rice!Veggie lo mein was just that: veggie lo mein. Nothing special and noodles a wee bit mushy; eh. One interesting note here is that dear Mr. Lee was a one-man show. No one else in the back chopping veggies, filling little bags with crispy noodles, or slicing BBQ pork; nothing! The joint is tucked in the back of a nondescript strip mall on the corner of NE Coachman and Belcher; sneeze or yawn and you'll miss it. Once you DO find it, the small storefront is about as bleak as the broom closet of a funeral home. An empty and chair-less table in one corner and a brown, fabric-draped old sofa to sit on while U wait. A picture or two of pineapples on one wall and a couple of Chinese calligraphic pictures on another. Owner was soft spoken and friendly just as in phone. He seemed thankful for the business!Notice that the menu says that they deliver; owner says he doesn't! He did offer a Postmates card; download the app and get $100 in free delivery credits. Final word: not bad, but once China 1 at East Bay & Belcher reopens, I'll be the first to go back to my go to. I'd only order from HKC if I were in the area, and even then it would not be my first choice.

Absolutely Fantastic, "Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover"..... Undeniably great food, strictly based on my first visit, small cramped unattractive space with excellent Chinese fare. I ordered General Tso's Chicken, the pieces are huge while spiced to perfection. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly and diligently addicted owner/chef dedicated to preparing first class meals. I can't wait to come back to Clearwater and further explore their menu.

Ok I've been meaning to try this place for quite some time, I've been searching a new favorite Chinese place! And yes as others have mentioned, this guy used to run Pineapple Rice at McMullen and Enterprise years ago. My quest is over, my new go to Chinese is found! The best House Fried Rice and House Low Mein I've ever had! It's still fresh and tasty as leftovers from Sunday, today Friday! Can't wait to try other some other dishes! I did have to wait while he finished cooking, but as I told the woman waiting in the lobby with me, I don't mind waiting for fresh cooked food. And I also told her, I don't know if that's my food I smell or yours, but it smells REALLY good!!! Very nice gentleman as well, He and I talked for a few minutes before I left!

This is our place. We always get Chinese here and are rarely disappointed. Lo Mein, beef and vegetables, fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, dumplings, crab rangoon, donuts, General Tso, we've loved it all.

Absolutely amazing food, great friendly service! the General Tso chicken was perfectly fried crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The egg rolls were not the typical generic pre made rolls you get from the other chinese in the area. It's the best chinese in the Clearwater area hands down. Highly recommended!

First and last time. Ordered takeout. Was told 15-20 mins, but I arrived in 30 from the time I called it In and still had to wait an additional 10 minutes. Got it home and opened the box and was already turned off just by the look of it. Didn't smell too good either. We tried a few bites and then our meals went straight to the garbage. The rice turned both of us off we didn't even offer it to our 2 year old. His general tso chicken was in very large clumps only to realize it was mostly breading. I ordered kung pao chicken, and just picked out the chicken but didn't touch anything else. We also got steamed dumplings but they smelled bad and we were afraid of getting sick. As much as it makes me sad to write this review because the older gentleman was the only person working there, I do feel like I should tell the honest truth so that no one else throws their entire order in the trash.

I posted 4 days ago after trying this place for the first time. Now I went back to give it another chance. This time I just ordered 5 egg rolls. When I got home and opened the bag I was happy to see some nicely fried egg rolls. The color was perfect and not the dark colors greasy looking ones I had 4 days earlier. They were probably the best egg rolls I ever had, full of flavor and very filling. I will definitely be going to this place again, and again as I love chinese food.
