I was craving homemade roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy but didn't have time to make it myself; was delighted when my google search found exactly that on the menu at Homestyle Scratch Kitchen. When picking up my order, I had the opportunity to chat with one of the owners, Kenny, who was super pleasant and passionate about their food. The chicken dinner was amazing, definitely homemade comfort food. Also picked up chicken soup (creamy chicken vegetable chowder style) which was also amazing. They have a nice little dessert case at the checkout counter, and I couldn't resist the homemade pistachio cake - absolutely delicious. Also really enjoyed the decor, including the fun and nostalgic collage of photos from NJ beach towns. Highly recommend and am already looking forward to stopping in again soon!

Delicious and highly recommended! My husband and I had a rare midday lunch date and needed to stay close to home so we popped in and grabbed a couple pressed sandwiches and of course had to try to baked ziti and a dessert. When I say the pressed meatball sub brought my NY Italian husband to tears I am not exaggerating. It was delicious. Fresh, home baked pure deliciousness. I'd leave a photo but we ate every single thing we ordered and almost licked the plate :). So good - and you know it's home cooked because I don't feel bloated and yucky after eating it!! Update - couldn't stopThinking about my pressed caprese and I've already been back for it. Soooooo good!
