Hibachi Japanese Express

I've ordered takeout from this restaurant twice before, but this was my first time dining in, so I wanted to share my review. The experience of eating inside the restaurant was positive overall--I found the space to be very clean. The service was efficient; we placed our order and paid at the counter, and our food was brought to our table. The self-serve drink option was also convenient.Here are some pros and cons of the meal. On the positive side, the price was great for the amount of food provided; the portions were generous. The rice and yum yum sauce were delicious. However, I was disappointed with the protein. Both the steak and chicken were very overcooked and had a strange taste, which made them difficult to chew. The veggies, on the other hand, were a bit firm, but I didn't mind that since I like my vegetables with a bit of crunch.Overall, the biggest downside was the hibachi protein. If the steak and chicken had been cooked properly and tasted better, I would have rated the experience much higher. This has been a consistent issue, as I found the protein tough during my previous takeout orders as well, though it was even more pronounced this time.

Hibachi express is one of those places you go, when you would like An Eastern dish but mixed with the taste of a homecooked meal. I am in love with the rock shrimp (tempura), and their fried dumplings (gyoza) are really yummy. I swung by for my order and it was a breeze to pick up. While waiting, my eyes were bouncing off each wall, and each decor piece. This location has a very humble feel; cozy, yet historic. I'll be back soon.

Every single time I order, whether through Uber eats or dine in, this food is so spot on its ridiculous! Everything is perfectly portioned, warm, fresh, and so darn good! They never disappoint! When I done in or pick up, customer service is always fabulous! They consistently prepare my food quickly every single time! I would have given 5 stars if the inside of the restaurant were cleaner. That's the only downfall. Floors are sticky, tables need wiped down. Clean up and 5 starts you'll receive!

This used to be our favorite spot, great food & great price but we ended up getting food poisoning today... never again unfortunately.

Food great here. Service is great as well. They service you fast and the place is usually not too packed and clean service and they have the best white sauce for the hibachi. It's traditionally served so it's great. Huge plates and cooked perfectly. You'll enjoy it definitely if you come there for food and drinks.

I was looking for a good quick dinner late at night and found this spot to be opened. I found the atmosphere to be dark and not very inviting. However the quantity and quality of food was on point for the price. I got the chicken and steak which was full of flavor. I would suggest doing takeout and calling ahead because I found them to be a little slow.

I DoorDash shrimp noodles received beef noodles, called both phone numbers never got an answer. Now I have nothing to eat besides the sushi roll because I don't eat beef, & the sushi roll was nasty. If you want Hibachi express go to the one on Florida St or temple terrace because this one is always is a failure!

I WISH I READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE GOING HERE! STAY AWAY!On 7/23 I visited Hibachi Express in Wesley Chapel. I ordered a Hibachi combo for dinner to go. When I got home, half of my order was missing. I called the young girl Renata working behind the counter. I explained that they had forgotten some of the food I ordered. Renata became irate, telling me that she had been working since 10 am and was tired. If I didn't get my food order it was tough on me because I should have double checked before leaving. Upon requesting a manager, Renata hung up on me. I called back and she was even more rude saying your not getting your food and that she has the right to refuse service and then hung up again. This is horrible customer service. I warn everyone to find somewhere else for your Hibachi food needs. Customer service like this should never be rewarded. They have lost my business especially when I was actually looking for a restaurant to cater a 50th birthday party. Thank you Renata for helping me to look elsewhere for my catering needs.Hopefully a manager/supervisor reviews this. Many people are looking for jobs. You can find a much better person to represent your business as the front person who answers your phones and greets your customers. This girl is costing you a large financial loss in your business.

Some of the lower quality hibachi I've had. Got the combo with steak shrimp and chicken. The shrimp tasted off as well as a few pieces of the chicken. Like "I might get food poisoning" off. Stomach is not feeling too great at the moment. The veggies were also tough as nails. With a drink, this meal cost me $19.47.
