Small Greek market and butcher shop, with an focus really on the butcher end of it but also carrying a good selection of dairy products, pastas, and other grocery items. It's very authentic, carrying forth the tradition of Slavic grocers that place an emphasis on dairy and fresh meats--there are whole shops, even restaurants, in Serbia, Croatia, Poland, and yes, Greece, where dairy goods are the focus and these nations also take their butcher shops very seriously--custom cuts of meat are preferred by many housewives over pre-packaged ones. In these nations, fresh meat and seafood are a cause for ardent debate and attention akin to that lavished on craft beer or cold-brew coffee in the States and it's refreshing to see this tradition in America's largest Greek-American community, Tarpon Springs. I am not certain but believe that they can and will prepare small dishes to go, though you cannot sit and eat here. It's a grocer, over all, but very much worth a visit.

Today June 3 I went to Halki to buy Melomakarona or finikia cookies. I thought they would taste good, but they were especially dry and stale. I didn't expect that and I want to take them back but I'm not going to. I will not go in there anymore because most of their items that they sell are stale. I would not recommend this place.

I was holding some items I had intended to purchase but left them behind. Instead, I ended up going just a few stores up the street to Agora market where I found better prices and a very friendly staff.
