Good Fortune

This place is neat inside and out! Food was quick and delish although the crab Rangoon tasted like the oil was a tad old. Cocktails were so good.

Good Fortune restaurant gave horrible service, but I remained calm, cool, and collected.There were several things that occurred which is why I gave this restaurant 0.5 stars. First, the waiter (Tyler) took forever to greet me and bring me water while he greeted other tables around me. I dont casually throw out the "R" word...racism, yet this was blatant. I sat there and observed him serve all the white patrons as they were sat at their tables. Eventually, I asked another waiter if my table had a waiter/waitress or did I look poor. He went and got the waiter that I had been observing, who was in fact my waiter. The waiter, Tyler, apologized and said he did not see me because I "blended in with the wall".Then the waiter, Tyler, put jalapeños on my food. I did not ask for jalapeños and it was not on the menu. He lied to my face saying it was on the menu and refused to bring me the menu.Meanwhile , the hostess came to our table when our entree arrived and aggressively and abruptly commanded us to leave saying we exceeded our 2 hours. Although there were feelings of indignancy, not once were we rude but polite and kind during these interactions.After leaving I called the manager, Aliyah. I waited until I left to address the situation to not make a scene. The manager apologized and said Tyler was notified that I was seated and should have served me before everyone who entered after me. The manager also said the salmon entree did not come with jalapeños and she apologized because jalapeños is not listed in the menu for that entre. The manager refunded all but the appetizer, and said she would inform her manager and speak to the waiter in hopes this never happens again. This waiter was so blatant that I had to post this review, so no one else's experiences what my friend and I experienced tonight.

Pros: Very cute decor. Drinks are good and they're open late.Cons: The sushi quality is not good IMO. If you're getting cooked rolls, maybe you'll be alright, but I highly suggest you reconsider ordering anything raw. Do NOT order the uni. Ours looked like they weren't stored properly so naturally, we're curious if the fish is stored in the same manner. Fortunately no one got sick but I'd definitely recommend being cautious with the raw options.

We ate there a while ago and it wasn't bad but the service was quite inattentive considering it wasn't very busy (we were seated at the bar) then we watched everyone around us eat before we had to finally flag down the server again and have them check the kitchen and it turns out they forgot to make our food (or forgot to put it in?)It finally came after a long time waiting and was a bit unimpressed, but maybe the long delay made it seem worse.I wasn't going to review but I've heard from multiple people that they had subpar experiences there so I felt it appropriate to leave an honest review.Felt like the price didn't reflect the experience I guess. Sad because the atmosphere and decor etc looks really cool. May give it another chance some day and will update this review if anything changes

Came here with my cousin, who's been wanting to come here forever and it didn't disappoint. The decor is so cute and everyone seems very happy. Our server, Izzy, was great. She was quick, knowledgeable and so nice. Our food came out insanely fast and the timing between appetizers was perfect. Definitely recommend the crab rangoons and dipping everything in the sauce it comes with. Delicious.

Went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was lively. We sat in the lounge seating which was nice as we were only getting sushi and drinks. They had a DJ playing so, trying to converse with the person across from me (due to the distance created by the lounge seating) was slightly difficult at times. But overall, our server was attentive and the sushi rolls were great and unique! The cocktails were refreshing as well. The inside is decorated nice. The menu is pretty expansive ensuring that everyone could find something they like.

My youngest wanted to come here for dinner and karaoke with extended family based on a previous visit for dinner. The vibe of this place is intimate with the lighting and ambiance for dinner. We sat outside in a space that was tucked away and protected by a wall so you didn't necessarily feel like you were outdoors. We got drinks and edamame to enjoy before we went for the karaoke (no food was allowed in the room). It was a private room so you didn't have to worry about others taking in your singing abilities. Our extended family group had fun for the hour we had the room reserved. The music selection had tunes for all genres. Afterwards, we went back to our table and enjoyed the sushi dishes we had ordered. It is easy to see how you can make a night of a visit to this place!

I had been wanting to try Good Fortune for a while, of course, since the first time I saw pictures of it on Instagram and it looked so cool. Walking up to the restaurant even Ben was look "oh this is cool looking", and stopped to take pictures. Right away you see the bar that you seen on Instagram and it was actually smaller than expected but looked just as great as expected. We were sat right away to the left side of the restaurant so we had the cool "comic wall" where the wall paper kinda looked like a comic strip of sorts and the sushi bar opposite. The sushi bar has cool neon light designs and sayings that make it a fun spot and conversation piece. While I was walking in I was looking at plates on different tables as well as when we were reviewing the menu and everything I saw looked really good and good proportions as well. The rolls that I saw were very large in size which I must have ordered the one roll that was normal sized. I ordered the Good Fortune roll but who knows, maybe next time I'll get one that was in line with what I saw on other tables. It was very tasty, with a slight kick to it but not too much that I couldn't handle. I don't like too much spice, personally. Ben ordered the Drunken Noodles and the bowl was large and full to the top. As soon as Ben put his fork into the bowl you could see a lot of steam being released so it was super fresh off the wok and Ben found instantly a large shrimp that they used throughout. I would say they were using 16/20 shrimp and it wasn't just like 3 within the dish, there were several, which was nice to see. This had some heat onto it which built over time but it wasn't so bad that I couldn't try it so I was able to get the flavor from a bite of pasta and shrimp to know his was tasty as well. We both enjoyed our dishes and for the price/amount of food, we will try this again and other menu items. They do have a late night menu available that even for a Thursday night had people coming in to enjoy.

I read the reviews before arriving and surmised that almost half of the patrons received poor service. Our experience was positive and the food was prepared perfectly and came out quickly. We will definitely go again and recommend to friends.

Was able to snag a last minute early dinner reservation for dinner on a Saturday night. They take walk-ins but the spot was full.Ordered a few things on the menu:Dan Dan noodles - they were okay and not spicy at all so that was a bummerCrispy rice - these too were okay. I did like the sriracha aioli though!Chili crisp wings - the wings were good and flavorfulPear Ginger Salad - really enjoyed this as it was refreshing on a hot night Overall this spot is more for the vibes than the meal in my opinion.
