It is extremely unlikely that Bowling Green is your ultimate destination. Why, with a population of 2500 folks, it is the very definition of a small town. Most folks are just passing through on Route 17. They are famous because "small town" jokes were invented here. When you pass the "Entering Bowling Green" sign, you can see the back of the "Leaving" sign!" I have more mismatched sox than this town has families! However, it has Gloria's, and I was there for breakfast.Arriving- What a surprise, it's on Route 17! The parking lot is big enough, so I swung my car into a slot and walked right in.Ambience- It's one big box that feels bright and airy because of the high ceiling. A few booths but mostly well-spaced four-tops. A little bit of Western décor but not much. Pro Tip- No Wi-Fi and no hot spots around so you'll be stuck with sloooow 5G!Customer Service- I had some good coffee and a menu in front of me in about three minutes. I perused my menu of standard American fare and as soon as I set it down my server popped over for my order. She was friendly and efficient and so no problems with the service. Food- I ordered a Spinach & Swiss Omelet, Corned Beef Hash, and a Biscuit. It was out in about five minutes and the pre-tip tab including bottomless coffee was $16 and change. Everything was well-cooked and the biscuit was actually steaming when I broke it open. I thought the portions were a little small for the price and the omelet filling was a little stingy. However, everything was tasty. There's not much around this tiny town but they got the job done with three stars. Wauchula is about eight miles away with more choices if you are heading that way.

The only restaurant in town serving breakfast and lunch only. I had a small orange juice and they brought me a glass of ice to pour it in if I wanted it ice cold. Great service. The two scrambled eggs look like they were cooked on a flattop grill. The potatoes were undercooked; a hotter grill and 5 more minutes would have been much better. Maybe add some grilled onions and spices for better flavor. The biscuit was nice and warm, freshly made. The meal with OJ was less than $10. I didn't order any meat. It's worth a try.

Great service, great prices. We ordered sausage biscuit and gravy which was delicious and so was the omelet with home fries. Will definitely come back and try their lunch specials.

Gloria's is a cute, quaint little dinner off hwy. 17 with a cozy environment and tasty food. I enjoyed the roast beef and my wife the fridge catfish. The service was pleasant and everything about the place was what you would expect from a small country diner. I'd go back again.

What a quaint spot for lunch! We didn't want fast food and so stopped at Gloria's on our way back to Fort Myers. The women there are friendly and quick to take your orders without making you feel rushed. We ended up getting the fish sandwich, onion rings and the Cuban sandwich, all were fantastic. We will definitely stop again. And did I mention how good their onion rings were... they were really tasty!

this was a take-out order that I am reviewing as I have eaten there many times and ordered takeout there many times. Yesterday, December 26 was a breakfast order. There were two omelettes ordered one with home fries one with grits. Well, they both came with home fries. that weren't even browned they must've been boiled. And the omelettes instead of real cheddar cheese they had the fake plastic sliced cheese in a wrap or kind of stuff. It did not even melt and tasted nasty. Called the restaurant about the grits, they wanted me to come back and pick some up, which was not an option. Expected they would say stop by anytime and pick them up. Most restaurants. Have good quality will have you come by in the near future and pick up your breakfast that was messed up but they didn't. They have lost a good customer. As they are the only place in the small town to get breakfast. Very disappointed.
