German Knodle

I can definitely see why German Knodle is such a popular spot! The space is small with limited seating, but the cozy atmosphere makes it feel inviting and warm.We tried the currywurst sausage plate and the jäger schnitzel with mushroom sauce. The currywurst plate comes with two sides, while the schnitzel comes with one, and honestly, the sides really stood out. The sauerkraut was lightly cooked, which gave it a wonderful depth of flavor, and everything on the plate was perfectly balanced. They also serve German beer, making it a great spot to unwind with a hearty meal.The service can be a bit slow since there's just one person handling both the cashier and the tables, but it didn't take away from the experience.I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in St. Pete's!

It was a comfortable afternoon so the front patio was nice. Our server was courteous and prompt. They have a selection of German beers. The menu is quite small--several kinds of sausages, 3 varieties of schnitzel, and just a few salads & sides. I got the knockwurst and bratwurst with potato salad & sauerkraut--all delicious. The Vienna schnitzel was crispy and came with a lemon wedge. The French fries are the best--coated and so crispy.

We let Yelp pick this place for us. I honestly had no idea it existed, but I'm glad i know it does, now! We drove from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete, and got Princess Parking right in front of the eatery. As the weather was beautiful, we opted to sit outside, and the waiter was wonderful, he made sure to get our drinks, i got a can of coke and my friend got a dark german beer. Both were good.We ordered off the menu, i ordered the Vienna Schnitzel, pork with their Best of the Bay fries my friend got 2 different kinds of sausage, some fries and sauerkraut.The food didnt take long to cook and was delivered piping hot. The fries? They live up to the best of the bay. They are delicious and crispy with a hint of garlic. Absolutely amazing. My schnitzel was a huge serving and I ended up taking 1/2 home.My Friends platter was large, the sausages were served with a good ground mustard, and we got curry sauce, which turned out to be delightful! This place is a hit! When in St.Pete, I'd find this place again. My belly was very happy!

Consistently delicious. There's no air conditioning here so if that's not your thing, opt to sit outside. They do offer to-go pick ups. I usually opt for the vegan mushroom sausages with sauerkraut and German potato salad. One of my favorite places in the Burg. Service is great every time.

We were a bit disappointed in our meals here. We've grabbed a side of fries to go before during a late night out and they were sooo good, that we made a point to return for dinner. I'm pretty sure they have won awards for those lovely, seasoned fries.Schnitzel with curry tasted like a warm ketchup sauce (so no actual curry flavor) and the schnitzel Jager had a mushroom sauce that was also very mild tasting with canned mushrooms. I am so strongly against canned mushrooms (I think most people are with me on this) and have no idea why occasionally a restaurant will think its ok to put them on top of a gourmet pizza or in a sauce. I love mushrooms, but if you can't supply fresh, then just don't offer it at all. If I remember correctly, the pork schnitzel was pounded too thin and was a bit dried out, but the chicken was the thicker juicier meat. The fries as always did not disappoint.

We were walking up Central Avenue looking for a place to eat and found the German Knodle. I have family that lives in Germany, so I'm always on the lookout for a good German restaurant in town. We had to give this place a try. We were seated right away by the owner, she was so friendly! I even got it practice my German with her. We chose to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful weather. The place is simply decorated, but has delicious food. I tried their 'Vienna Schnitzel' and it was delicious. My fiancé tried their 'Jager Schnitzel' and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both tried their potato salad as a side, and it was delicious. We loved the raw onion in there! We enjoyed some German beer along side our meal. The service was quick and friendly. The place was super clean too. The next time we're in St. Pete we will definitely be back. Highly recommend the German Knodle as a place to enjoy some good German food and beer!

This place is so top notch. First it's in downtown and has such a good vibe. The server is super direct and extremely helpful, she isn't just being fake nice for a tip and I love that. But the food. The FOOD! The fries are honestly some of the best I've ever had and the sausages are so flavorful. I've been here multiple times now and it literally never has let me down. Easily one of the best restaurants in the tampa bay

Friendly service and good food. The currywurst was the best I think I've had, including a few visits to Germany. The beer menu is decent, but smaller than I expected.

The restaurant keeps it simple with a cozy, family-friendly vibe. They've earned the 'best fries' title, and while they're tasty, they're not radically different from others I've had. Now, the Schnitzel is where the party's at--huge portion, served with mushrooms, an absolute must-try.Our waitress was a gem, super attentive and friendly. As a delightful surprise, she treated us to a sneak peek of their homemade hot sauce at the end, and it was a divine experience .

Wonderful German restaurant and lovely waitress Bapsi. Absolutely delicious bratwurst and schnitzel! And wonderful German beer. We will be back!
