Is there anything better than walking around the farmer's market on a Sunday morning with a tote full of fresh, local produce and an (insert favorite morning drink of your choice) in your hand? Now, imagine all of that against the beautiful backdrop of Hyde Park Village. The Hyde Park Fresh Market quickly became my favorite farmer's market from its inception. It has changed and grown a lot over the years, but it still tops my list as the best in the area (although the Water Street Sunday Market is a close second). The one caveat is that you have to get there at or before it begins at 10 a.m. or else you'll have a hard time finding any parking. The garages fill up quick, and the search only gets more difficult the closer you get to noon. But if you do get there early enough, parking in the garages is free and places you right in the midst of the market, which spans the entire length of Hyde Park Village.I've always found an awesome variety of local vendors at this market, from produce to breads and treats, local butters, cheeses and pastas, and all of the beautiful home decor, jewelry, accessories, and other wares you never knew you needed. You can even get your knives sharpened by a vendor who is there every month! So, take a walk, bring your own bags (not because they don't have bags, but because it's nice to the planet), come hungry, and chat up the locals. You'll never feel more part of your community than when you're at a farmer's market.

Open the first Sunday monthly from 11 AM to 3 PM, there are approx 120 vendors. Most take debit/credit cards. There is also live music-- a new musician(s) each month-- SEE PIC. Parking can be a beast-- don't risk parking on the streets where it's prohibited. (I misinterpreted a poorly placed sign & earned a $30 ticket, which I'd fight if I wanted to miss work to go to court.) There is a parking gargage; I recommend using it. We saw lots of the following: vendors selling cold tea & homemade desserts, produce, misc. canned foods, & those selling prepared foods-- crepes, Mexican, Thai, burgers, sausage, chicken, lobster, Latin American, etc. We also noticed a booth that sold rustic breads; a booth offering salsa; fish dips, steaks, at least two vegan food merchants; and misc booths selling candles, homemade dog food, handmade jewelry, cutting boards, art, sports shirts, plants, etc. But FOOD of one kind or another was offered more than anything else. If you love cookies & want a delicious one, definitely visit the Mabel's Baking Company booth; the large $5 cookies are amazing; we shared a Chocolate Peanut Butter one. It's so thick & rich that it's enough for three people! (SEE PIC)I recommend this market due to the caliber of merchandise & the friendly vendors; the beauty of the tree-lined streets; & the live music. If you don't want to be handed your items in plastic bags, be sure to bring along a cloth bag. It's doubtful you'll make it out of the area without some shopping-- at least for food.

My favorite outdoor market in Tampa, and quite possibly my favorite outdoor market ever. It takes place on the 1st Sunday of every month from 10 AM - 3 PM and offers a variety of vendors selling everything from plants to cheese, dog bandanas to poems. They also have several food vendors and food trucks for dining while you explore. Every month I visit and love stopping by the SereniTeas booth, where they offer freshly brewed teas and juices, plus a selection of farm-fresh eggs. I also love the produce vendor (I do not recall the name, but every month they have a long table across from Lululemon and Sprinkles, NOT the produce vendor more towards Bar Taco and directly next to the orchid vendor). If I go early in the morning I like to stop by the empanada vendor who offers a selection of treats, but my go-to is a sausage egg and cheese breakfast empanada. I am also obsessed with Gulf Coast Sourdough, especially their strawberry swirl sourdough that is offered during the Florida strawberry season. Don't get scared by the long line that typically wraps around this booth: the wait is worth it and the hype is real!

We come here EVERY. SINGLE. SUNDAY. It's that good! And we haven't even hit all the vendors yet!! This is probably the best market in Tampa. The WHOLE of hyde park village is filled with tents that range from produce, food trucks, jewelry, plants and flowers, fish dip (a personal favorite), pasta, lemonade, pickles, sourdough bread (another personal favorite), children's books, dog accessories, clothes, art, you name it! It's super family friendly for all ages and there is probably 1 dog for every 3rd person if you need a puppy fix or want to bring your fur baby. Speaking of- they will sometimes also have dogs for adoption!! Love that as were a rescue family ourselves. It runs from 10-3pm but note that parking is a pain so parking on the streets in Hyde park is sometimes your best bet over the garages if you're not there early. Some vendors, like the sourdough bread guy, sometimes will sell out by noon so keep that in mind too. We usually shop around and stop for lunch at one of the restaurants or head home to cook up whatever we bought and have it for dinner.

If you're a fan of outdoor markets, you have to try this one at least once. It happens every 1st Sunday and it's situated along a good stretch of Hyde park. There a BUNCH of vendors and a lot of them take cards. Sometimes they switch up the vendors but there are some OGs that are always present. There's food, drinks, fresh produce, artisanal goods--everything. The best part is that you can also enjoy the actual brick and mortar shops and restaurants in the area like pottery barn, bar taco or sprinkles. It's great for a date or family time. There's so many local businesses to patronize that it's a great way to invest in your own community and small businesses. I always leave happy with my purchase.

Great Saturday morning activity. Love to bring the pup. Lots of variety of foods to try and good mix of products from local vendors. You can always stick around for brunch at one of the Hyde park restaurants if you want more of a sit down meal. I always end up with wayy too much baked goods by the time I leave. Parking definitely becomes more of a problem into the afternoon and I always try and go first thing in the morning.
