I had to downgrade because I bought oysters and they weren't good at all. They reduced the price of oysters by $1.50 off from the original price since it was considered a "quick sale" prior to the expiration date, which was within two days. The oysters were mushy & foul tasting - they were def. Expired and in a brown liquid that wasn't clean or clearI def. don't advise buying seafood from them because the quality is low.

Great place to get Latin American food. My son and I had time to kill so I decided we might as well check this place out. We pass by it all the time when driving, we just never stopped in. I don't cook so normally we judge a grocery store by its prepared food options. Most of the workers and the clientele here speak Spanish. It was the main language I heard. I think it is great to have a large grocery store to cater to this population. If I can gather enough Asians in this area I would die to have a store like this for us. There is a good selection of hot food and a couple tables where people can sit. I can't speak to how good the food is, but it looked like a good variety. They even had a selection of "traditional desserts." All this food I've never seen at our neighborhood Publix. This different selection carries over into their frozen goods selection. They have more Latin American fare than I see in other grocery stores. It's pretty neat. They also have $1 off bread that they need to sell. I grabbed a bag of small blueberry bagels to see if my son would eat them - he would not. I also got a tub of cream cheese for $2.99. I have no idea if that's a good deal, but it seemed good to me. There was a smaller option for $2.49, but for 50 cents more I got almost double! I'm all about this super size me life. Like others have said, this store is a bit run down. My son found a hole in the floor that he was trying to stick his finger in. We saw the covering a little ways down the aisle that is normally taped over it. Other than that, the store seemed pretty clean, so I can deal with some holes here and there. There are a lot of sales if you have a store card. It's definitely worth getting, but the lines to check out were long and I wasn't about to be that person who holds up the whole line. Instead, I just made sure not to get anything that was on sale with the card. Overall, I like this place to just peruse and see if there is anything that catches my eye. I'll definitely come back.

I am always shocked when I see the reviews complaining about this store. The comments about racism and such. I always get smiles, and maybe teasing about my poor spanish... or someone will teach me some new words. But it is always a good experience! Maybe it is the way I treat everyone else, so I get treated the same way? Yea... it is a rebranded Win-Dixie... and has some of the faults that are inherent there. But the people who work there... good, friendly people. Yeah... sometimes I have to smile or speak first, because they are not sure if I am going to get upset with them for not speaking English, or some other silly reason. But when I do smile first, I get a smile back. Maybe more people should try that?I was in today to buy frozen banana leaves (hojas de plantain) for a Mexican dish I am making tomorrow (Cochinita Pibil). Typically don't find an item like that in a typical store, only in a Latin store (although have seen them in some Asian stores too). And tortilla's, since my homemades ones are not that good, I need practice.Muchas gracias to Yunier, my cashier.. for being so helpful and friendly!

Came back in again on a weekend today and they weren't too busy yet! I beat the rush! Or so I thought.....the checkout issue is still the biggest pain point of this poor place. I really want to know where this floor manager came from. It would be hilarious if it weren't so damn sad. So... apparently the self checkout has one single awkward checkout at the end with a cashier. There's nowhere to line up for it, so if you are the unlucky few plucked from line to add to this cluster, you can stand in everyone's way as they struggle to read the self checkout instructions. SMH. My heart pretty much hurts for the Hispanic population of TnC lol

Hubs comes here for things he can't get at Publix... I don't cook so I don't know what those things are. Even though this is a really busy grocery store, in a good-sized shopping plaza, parking is not terrible. But the lot is quite active, so pay attention.I recently transferred one of my prescriptions here, motivated by a lower price, but mainly because the pharmacy with a drive-thru that I had been using couldn't count to 40 consistently. I'd found a GoodRx coupon for my prescription, but I was delighted that Fresco Y Mas was able to beat that price by even more! PLUS, they can count!Transferring my prescription was kind of a pain, of my own making, because I'd tried to do it online via Winn-Dixie's pharmacy portal (W-D owns Fresco Y Mas)... my prescription left the ABC pharmacy but never made it to Fresco Y Mas, so I had to call my doctor & request a new script be sent. Minor hiccup.I experienced zero wait time on a busy Saturday afternoon, and the pharmacist didn't mind me counting the pills first. Yes, he seemed to think it was an odd request, but was agreeable. He even offered me a tray but I suggested that a paper towel was fine. Then I paid, and was on my way. The store was clean overall & employee mask usage seemed to be thorough. Maybe next month, I'll bring hubs so he can get some groceries. I also want to try some of their prepared foods since those seem to have a Latin American influence.

Fresco replaced the old Winn Dixie that I hated because it was dirty and extra busy all the time. I've never been a fan of Winn Dixie and I'm not a fan of Fresco, but I wanted to be. Since I'm married to a Hispanic man I cook a lot of Spanish-Caribbean dishes. Nothing in here is fresco and they don't have mas of anything.I hoped all the ingredients I need would be right here, but no. On every occasion that I've come in I never found everything I needed (despite the size of this joint) and had to drive over to EL Grande (a much smaller bodega) to get the rest of what I need. It hasn't made my life easier to have this particular Hispanic Grocery close by as I make a stop into this inconvenient parking lot for...in the end...no reason. I'll mention I've never bought meat here and since I try to only buy non-gmo, organic and/or halal meat I will never buy meat at Fresco y Mas or at any remaining Winn Dixie stores. I'm sure since it's close I'll pop in again hoping to find an ingredient, but I won't get my hopes up too high.

I've been shopping in this supermarket for so long. Now I'm so disappointed with the service. They're forcing the customers to use the self checkout, is not cashiers since they open till 10:00 AM. Line its so long. Service desk can't take care as used to do 10 or less items. Its only one or two cashiers at busy time, and they can not go home because no have other cashier.

I starting shopping here to try and save some money- but I wish I hadn't. The frozen food is good 50% if the time. It's as if it has defrosted and was refrozen. Horrible. Produce is the WORST part of this store. Absolutely rotten fruits and vegetables. Horrible selection. Overprices. I should've taken photos but today will be the last time I ever shop here oh! And there was only ONE cashier with at least 8 of us in line. Totally disgusted. I'd rather go to Walmart or Publix.

NEVER again! After waiting several-to-many minutes like a fool expecting the seafood counter to be manned (to buy frozen food - a LOT of the fresh stuff in the display counter looked really, REALLY nasty, and I had a while to look at it...), I made the mistake of asking an older female employee who wasn't really doing anything if anyone was working the seafood counter.Well, I tried to ask her... As soon as she realized I was speaking English she loudly and rudely spat at me "Spanish not English". I of course abandoned my cart and walked out.If Winn-Dixie doesn't want English speakers in this store then everything's just fine. If, however, Winn-Dixie is still a BUSINESS then staff here should be ousted from the top down and people who actually want to have an open store to work in hired.I consider this to be a racist incident, and after reading reviews from others - including Hispanic people - clearly the racism here is the norm.
