My first trip to Clearwater and I had to stop by a Frenchys to try their famous grouper sandwich. It did not disappoint. We got the she crab soup which was so creamy and had great flavor. The crab fries were good and paired well with the original fried grouper sandwich. They also have a "Frenchys passport" where you can get a stamp at every frenchys place and get their signature drink and get a prize once you hit all the spots - how fun!

The ambiance here is relaxed and loud, typical for a beach restaurant. Decorations like "no shoes no shirt no service" can be found.And the food! Wow!Rueben grilled grouper sandwich: 9/10 would get again and order it dine-in cause the bread got a little soggy even though there was a cheese protecting layer. Greek octopus salad: 10/10 hands down probably the best salad I've eaten in a long time. The toppings had chopped up olives and pepperocini, feta cheese, beets (?), tomato, onion, cucumber. The dressing was so addictive! Lemony tender octopus too!Garlic crab fries: 10/10 that crispy batter takes this to another level, ultimate flavor bomb (not overwhelming) and rich sweet crab meatGrilled fresh grouper with coconut rice and steamed veggies: 9/10 coconut rice was so delicious and cooked perfectly. The steamed veggies(zucchini and carrots and bell peppers) were good too. The grouper was a generous portion and so flavorful and perfectly cooked.I couldn't ask for any better food and the wait staff work very hard here yet are so nice!!restaurant seems busy from what it looks like and appears the beach town is recovering from Hurricanes. With the atmosphere of an old fish shack, this quaint Frenchy's location delivers the right atmosphere for Clearwater beach. Once inside you're met by a sizable bar area, tables and booths. The large mounted Sailfish surrounded by white string lights completes the atmosphere nicely. You can eat inside or on the patio. The servers are all cheerful, providing attentive service. With their own fishermen as part of the Frenchy's "empire," fish here is a must-have. Today I had a Super Grouper sandwich... almost three times larger than the bun! You have a choice of sides or add-ons. I had the coleslaw which is really good and fresh.The fish can be prepared a variety of ways... battered and fried is a fantastic choice; perfectly cooked.Even on a busy Saturday, this location is just enough the beaten path that it was a nil less crowded and hectic. My new favorite Frenchy's location!

Great spot off the main drag. Came here with the kiddos for some lunch. Loved the chill island vibe. The grouper sandwich grilled was really great and meaty! Set the bar high for the rest of our vacation. Service was responsive and helpful. Check out their specials before you go!

So, I'm a Phillies fan and I've heard about Frenchy's for years. Well finally got to go after a Phillies Grapefruit League game this year. Have to say I was somewhat disappointed. Service was hmmm. A bit annoying. When the server finally came over he was kinda short with his responses ( I grew up in Philly so I'm used to not so nice servers in the diners I used to go to ). He actually sat down at our table to take our order. Didn't appreciate that (my girlfriend could see I was ready to get after him) - a table is kind of a private space for customer. It's also a little loud there but we finally got our orders across to him. Got a grilled grouper sandwich which was actually good. My friend got a burger that was a special that day and she said it was good. I will say that they can lose the onion rolls on the sandwiches. They're kinda... gross. Not sure about this place but it wasn't worth the drive from the stadium. They could do better. It certainly isn't Philly Dilly!Go Phightins !

There are a lot of Frenchy's in Clearwater, so they must be doing something right! I am not sure the difference between all of them, but we ended up going to one closest to where our car was parked. We got the chicken nachos and crab fries for an appetizer. Both were delicious. I got a rum runner with an extra floater for my drink. It took a while for me to sip because it was so strong. For my entree, I got the grouper sandwich because it seemed like it was world famous. It had 4 different options for how it could be prepared. I got it with coleslaw, and I enjoyed it. The service was fast for our table of 6. The ambiance is very casual and beachy. It's perfect for arriving in a wet bathing suit and coverup. The sun was shining, and it was another beautiful day in the Sunshine State!

Frenchie's is a Clearwater Beach staple, with locations all along the beach and causeway. Frenchie's Saltwater Cafe has a very funky vibe. Not only very beach, but for a restaurant it has a fun, almost party atmosphere.Party of five, four of us chose the Friday shrimp and fries special. The "baskets" had an abundance of fries and though it says 9 shrimp, one diner commented that every time he finished one shrimp and ate a fry, he'd find another shrimp, I chose the female crab chowder, loaded with meat and flavor and the conch fritters. Crispy, crunchy and spicy, they did not disappoint.We didn't have to wait long to be seated, or to get served. And the food was hot. They're still raving about the pineapple cole slaw!
