First time visitor to the Monkey Bar! I loved it. So close to Monkey Island. We sat and watched the monkeys on their own little island. So cool! Great setup. Nice atmosphere. If you go, I highly recommend the Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza. It was delicious!! Will definitely be back!!!

As a local who has visited this spot multiple times over a weekend, I feel it's important to share an honest review. While the margaritas are fantastic, the draft beer doesn't have the chill I expect and has an unusual taste. Additionally, since the new jukebox was delivered the music selection feels out of place for a tiki experience, especially when the employees seem to favor techno. A more fitting soundtrack would really enhance the atmosphere. Overall, there's potential for a great time, but some adjustments could make it even better!

It's funny to come here and see the monkeys on their island. Food was pretty good, not a big menu but their pizza is themost popular. Really flavorful crust. You're really going for the ambiance

Wow, what a great place! We rolled up around 3 pm after a big storm, so it wasn't busy. The bartender was extremely friendly and made us delicious Drunken Monkey drinks. We ordered the big pretzel, the gator pizza, and the crab dip. My son devoured the pretzel, the pizza was incredible, and I loved the flavor of the dip. The only thing I wasn't impressed with were the pita chips that came with the dip. I wish they had bread or tortilla chips. We had a nice table right in front of monkey Island. We had an amazing time and would come back next time in time!

My friends and I went on a Manatee tour in the area and the guide recommended we visit the Monkey Bar for some good food and views of monkey island. We got there around 1 and there was a good amount of people but not too crowded. We got the plain Mac and Cheese which was incredible. My friends and I agreed that it was one of the best Mac and Cheese we've ever had. For lunch we had the chicken bacon ranch pizza and the Alligator sausage pizza. The alligator sausage was so good! I wanted more when I was finished. If you like hawaiian pizza you'll love this, and if you don't they have an alligator dog on menu for you to try. I got the Money Juice for my drink and it was delicious! the views of monkey island and the water were also a nice bonus. watching the monkeys play around was so much fun. Definitely would come back again!

We stopped in and was shocked they didn't have seafood. I thought the decor was cool and we we're greeted promptly so I said let's give it a go. The service was very friendly and on point. The drinks were very tasty and cold. We ordered half the menu because we didn't have a clue what we wanted. The shroooon bread was very tasty. The cheesy cheesy bread was also enjoyed by all. The Mac and cheese was great. We ordered 4 different pizzas the BBQ chicken pizza was the star of the show. Great job guys we will be back.

Stopped here for a cool drink after a day at a park. The bar sits at the edge of the river and is obviously a place that locals like to hang out. From the deck, there is a perfect view of Monkey Island, although the monkeys are not in residence at the current time. Although we didn't sample the food, the drinks were delicious and the service was friendly & easy.

Florida Cracker. That term conjures up images of cowboys and ranchers. Old time Florida. Generations of family history steeped in the Sunshine State. Or a local hotspot that has monkeys. We're no strangers to the place but my out of state visiting sis-in-law was, so it was time to change that. She and I dropped in to watch the boats cruise and swig some Monkey Juice. We started out on the lower level, up close to the action. Families of boaters, couples and cuties queuing in for a feast. Then, we 'moseyed' upstairs to oversee the River Crystal. What a parade of traffic passing by. Pontoons, powerboats, airboats & more. All ruddering around a little patch of primate land. Plenty to see in a perfect weather setting. This Cracker had a good time. And so did sis!

We love this place. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The Bloody Mary's are always good. They have a good whiskey selection. They have craft beer and monkey juice. Try the Homosassa lemonade. They also make good old fashioned with the ice ball. Then upstairs has a tequila selection. The pizza is good. Crab dip is good. Salads are huge , fresh and delicious. The kids can play jenga, cornhole, or check out the monkeys on the island out back. Music on weekend. Relax and watch the boats go by.

I'm not sure what was worse at this location, the attitude of the server/bartender, or the extremely poor quality of food. Pizza was undercooked and underwhelming in flavor, both my wife and I couldn't finish our meals as they were tasteless. Scrapings from the pizza oven on the bottom of the pizza had more flavor than the pizza itself....clean the pizza oven for Gods sakes! The only thing it has going for it is the view of monkey Island, and you can do that from the dock without spending a dime. This place has a lot of potential, and it falls far short of it.
