Empamamas

First to review and still coming back 8 years later!! It's amazing to see if you have a good concept it can turn into a legit business if you do things the right way. Empamamas is STILL doing it right. Quality ingredients = yummy food. The Tampa girl is still as good as it was back then. I've moved on to the other side of the country but whenever I'm in town you can bet that I'm stopping by here. I'd recommend the Bang Bang tenders and Tampa Girl empanada of course. But really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

The name fits! The empanadas were great, the tacos were okay. Next time I'd just get a couple empanadas. They were large with some interesting but tasty filling options. The staff were friendly and service was quick. They give you a pager so I had time to go grab a drink at the bar while waiting for my food.

We tried the 4 pack sampler of empanadas and a side of the seasoned fries. The fries are decent. They are seasoned. It's pretty light, and they just feel like they need something more. As for the empanadas, what I thought I'd like was actually the opposite. My least favorite was the Tampa Girl. I'm not sure why but the outer edges were pretty bland. I think the sauce might really make this one, so I enjoyed it much more near the center but that leaves so many bites that tasted pretty sub-par. Cheeseburger in Paradise sounds good, but something about eating all the components of a cheeseburger in an empanada just didn't work for me. Nothing was "bad". I just didn't love the combination. The Mother Clucker was far tastier than I expected. I just for whatever reason can't handle any heat anymore postpartum, so the jalapeños just made it to something I wouldn't order again. The overall flavor was really good though! But I didn't expect to love the fresh prince as much as I did. It sounded like a twist on the cheeseburger, but in my head sounded less appealing. I was so wrong. This one was absolutely excellent. I can't even describe it anymore, because it's the only one that was finished immediately and I can't go back for another bite. Pretty good once you know what you like there, but in the future, I'll be picking my favorite flavors and forgoing the fries.

Empamamas is super convenient if you're visiting Armature Works, and the quick service makes it great for grabbing a bite without a long wait. It's a little on the pricier side, but the flavors are really well-balanced, so it feels worth it.The ambiance adds to the experience--being right along the Tampa Riverwalk is such a nice touch. I also loved the presentation; they stamp the name of each empanada onto the dough, so you always know which one you're about to bite into.

Pretty fast service considering how crowded it was here. Shared four empanadas that was 4 for $27. Empanadas were $7 each. Personally think it's a bit overpriced. Average empanadas but will fill you up. Came out fresh and enjoyed the cheeseburger empanada the most. Liked how the name of the food was stamped into the empanadas.

Located in the Armature Public Market. Great service with quick pick up. Delicious, flaky, crispy empanada!

Probably the best, unique empanadas that I've ever had. The cheeseburger one is one of my favorites, but hard to say which one is my favorite. Service is quick, and the fun atmosphere of Armature works is always a good idea.

Amazing empanadas! This is my second time eating here, and wow, they are truly incredible. My favorite is the Mother Clucker--it's stuffed from end to end and absolutely delicious. The presentation is a plus too; they write the name of each empanada on top, which makes it easy to identify different flavors if you order a variety. This spot is located inside Armature Works, in a fantastic location.

Empamamas is my new favorite spot. They have great service. The staff is very efficient and helpful. I ordered the cheeseburger empanada and 2 tacos (bang bang chicken and pork taco) which comes with chips and salsa. My favorite taco was the bang bang chicken. The flavors were out of this world.

I love the ambiance here. I love armature works and the unique menu items in regard to empanadas. But I was so shocked that the empanadas were $7 each for them to lack a bit of flavor and be greasy. I've had some of the best empanadas ever from Hispanic markets at $1-2 each per empanada, so I can't justify $7 for one here. The place is overhyped but the service was good though!
