We went today 2/28 on the 2:00 ferry and the Captain and first mate were amazing! Great knowledge, took care of the boat and felt safe riding with them. It was a great trip and we had a fantastic time! Thanks again Egmont team!

We had a great time today with Dan and John! Super nice, fun and professional. They let my son drive the boat and everyone sang happy birthday to my 10 year old. A birthday he will never forget! Thanks!!Christine

So this cruise takes you to Egmont key & the destination itself is amazing however the crew is a little lack luster. Had the crew been engaging & friendly I would have upped the stars but in all honesty they did nothing to earn their tip. I think our captains were Frank & Blair but I'm not sure at all - I could be wrong. The boat was a bit run down, snorkeling equipment was leaky and cheap. Did not like paying at the end of the cruise. Snorkeling experience could have been better - they told us we were jumping into 5 ft of water - jumped in couldn't touch. My friend that was with was 6.5" and he couldn't touch & didn't even touch bottom when he jumped in. For anyone that has never snorkeled this was terrifying. If your expecting to be able to touch the ground & then can't and the only thing keeping you a float is a pool noodle and your kids suddenly jump in & expect you to help stabilize them and you can't it's scary. I personally had a full blown panic attack & I've only ever had 2 in my life & this was terrifying to me. I thought I was going to die. It would have been nice if one of the captains could have atleast thrown me a rope or not been so condescending. Others were very disappointed in their lack of compassion for being a bit scared. One lady said these guys are a "joke!"The island of Egmont Key is amazing & I highly recommend doing a boat tour just not with this crew. Advice:-Work for your tip, don't expect one. -improve ladder for getting off boat to Egmont Key -update equipment & boat-payment before cruise

The Egmont ferry ride and snorkelling excursion was awesome! We went to the key 1st, hung out there for an hr, the boat came back for the ones that wanted to snorkel, took us to the grasslands(it was too rough for the ruins), snorkelled, then we went back and picked everyone else up, headed back to Fort De Soto, but did some dolphin watching on the way. This was my family's 1st time to snorkel. Zip and Jeff were very helpful and friendly, we got the hang of it very quickly with their help. The island was super awesome as well! It's like a little private island, reminded me of Gilligan's island. My 7yr old had the best day ever! Because captain Zip let her steer the boat for a little while.. she was so excited about that! We were so glad we choose this excursion and this company. It was a great day!

Took my friends from out of town on this to go snorkeling, we payed a small amount and we ended up going to Egmont, we saw dolphins in the distance but not up close. We snorkeled in an area for sand dollars and me and my friends were able to get 16 all together and good sized ones! They supplied us with bags and then we wen shelling and were able to walk the island. Very beautiful area!!!!! They provide you with snorkels, shade on the boat, a bathroom, good beachy type music, and coolers. You can take alcohol! Towels bathingsuits snacks and cameras! We were close to being late but made it just in time. When we got to the island we were aloud so much time to go shelling and to walk around. Then we were on our way back. We had people from our same tour right behind us, they were pulling up the ladder and we almost missed it, they would have left us!!!!!!! Be prompt with your time they were leaving 2 minutes after the time they said. No waiting at all which sucks for those who get left!!!!! Other than this small glitch this was so worth the 38$ it cost! And..... Instead of seeing dolphins up close the kids on board started feeding a bird which turned into at least 30 birds and the kids were all enjoying it! A great day..... Takes about 4 hours! Booked it in johns pass at one if the shops. Oh also...... Did not see some of the thing in the brochure , it's possible we didn't walk far enough.

We were able to get on at the last minute, and we were glad we did. On the way out to Egmont Key, we had multiple dolphins playing and jumping in the wake, both right behind and along side the boat. I got a ton of really great pics.Once on the island, we were off to roam around, see the old fort and look for shells. There was no lack of shells or photo ops. After this, we boarded again to go just a little ways down the shore to the snorkeling area. If you've never been snorkeling before, this is a good place to start. The water is pretty shallow, but we saw plenty of fish (different types and sizes), sea urchins, and a couple other funky looking creatures. Sadly, no manatees, but the dolphins being so close on the way in were consolation enough. If you've snorkeled before, this portion may not offer you much.Overall, we were pretty satisfied. Great weather, activities all seemed to go as advertised, and the price was fine per person.

I'm giving it a 3 stars because the price $40 per person is a decent price and the guys were very friendly, but I wanted to give a 2 just because the boat we were on was so outdated, the snorkeling was bad my kids and I didn't see anything worth seeing. It was bring your own drinks and snacks but the least they could do is give you a bottle of water. To get on and off the boat on the ladder was not sturdy. But going to Egmont Key is a MUST! Not being picky but I've gone on many snorkeling and boat rides that were a thousand times better, but for the price it's not bad.

Needless to say this excursion has the worst salesman, Blair, known to man. We enjoyed the excursion, but the salesman, Blair, is very rude and shady. He gave us a flat rate when we booked the reservation of $38 per person and tax included. After the excursion we ended up paying $44 per person because the salesman, Blair, didn't mention gratuity needed to be included in the price after he said there were no hidden fees. We had a group of 12 people and there is nothing in the brochure or the receipt we have that gratuity would be included for groups over a certain number of people. We met with the salesman, Blair, after the excursion and he was very rude. While my wife was asking him questions about the additional charges, he answered his phone and just walked away without saying excuse me or anything. I told him that he was being rude after he walked away and he told the person on the phone, "I'm going to have to call you back because i have an idiot in the store." This salesman, Blair, is very rude and shady and also threatened to call the police on us and started to yell at us before we left. Do not purchase an excursion from this person. Very poor service.

My boyfriend at 56 has never been out of a boat much less to any of you islands full of History like Egmont Key. I booked the cruise the day before, got there early so I made sure we were out on the first ride over. Boat was clean and the staff was very informative (mic needs to be higher so everyone can hear) & funny. Once there the island has so much history if your in for a hike to look at the buildings still standing & wildlife PLEASE bring bug spray Mosquitoes are like monsters out there but only in the Bush areas. The shore of the beaches and water were AMAZING!! I found so many shells I've never seen and I was born & raised here. Someone on our Cruise named Sharktooth for good reason he found 3 of them. That is why I will be going back out soon because finding a sharks tooth is on my bucket list item. This is a great trip to do alone and totally feel safe, which will be my next trip. At first I thought it wasn't long enough but honestly it's just enough time to get around the island and make you realize you want to come back out to do more. Even the other people cruising with us were super nice. DEFINITELY A WONDERFUL DAY TRIP!! P.S since this island was inhabited once by Native Indians please bring one cigarette so if you take something off the island you sprinkle the tobacco on the soil as a gift to the ancients still there. It's a true Native Ritual. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE CIG BUD. Just sprinkle tobacco say thank you and but the rest in your pocket.

I noticed only a few reviews were written for these guys, and we came from the West Coast on a trip and were looking for some excursions outside LOLThe captain immediately greeted us in the parking lot and got our parties names, very friendly guy. Seemed kind of new to all this but that doesn't matter - he was great. (Hint: the captain and ship mate feed off YOUR energy - if you show excitement, they can be more excited)We saw tons of dolphins, fish, a manatee, shells, birds ate food from our hands, everything. And the captain kept apologizing for not seeing much when in reality we saw so much more. Give them a shot. We went on a Thursday and had Jamie (ship mate) and Jake (captain). Great team, if you allow them.
