Doña Julias Mexican Restaurant

Enjoyed my first time at Don Julio's and loved it! Our friendly waitress Tina was so attentive A+The food was served hot and delicious! A wonderful breakfast for all three of us!

Visiting Lakeland and my friend brought me here for breakfast. I have nothing bad to say about this place everything was great. My friend's only complaint is that they don't open until 9am. However on our arrival (before 9) they had already opened the doors to our surprise. We sat down at the bar and were given a large menu offering traditional American breakfast and Mexican cuisine. We both settled on ordering the huevos con chorizo which came with rice, beans, and tortillas. I asked if they could make things caliente or spicy and they included some green chili salsa which is packed full of flavor but lacked that spice I was looking for. Still, it was delicious and I have nothing bad to say. Bonus is that they have cholula. They serve their orange juice in a chilled mug, like one of the beer mugs. A nice touch. By sitting at the bar, our service was amazing. Constant attention and enthusiastic servers we were happy to start our day here. The decor is very southern with a lot of different styles and things hanging on the walls. It offers that home cooking ambiance that I miss.

We went here thinking it was a Mexican Restaurant. It was actually more like a diner in menu and overall atmosphere and appearance. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner- but they do close early (8pm). They DO have Mexican menu items- tacos, burritos, enchiladas-- the standard fare, but also have a lot of 'diner' type foods. The menu selection is very large. We ordered a chimichanga and a large burrito covered in ranchero sauce and sour cream. Both were average. The service was speedy, and the was a homey feeling to the place, like the people eating there all knew each other. That was nice. Will we go back? Probably not. There are other Mexican restaurants that have a better menu and atmosphere; Abuelo's, Tapatio's and Plaza Mexico, to name a few.

Great food, cute atmosphere, but closes pretty early for a restaurant. Food was good, but it's always a bummer if they charge you for refills of chips and salsa! Definitely want to try here for brunch!

My favorite Mexican food spot and they have the absolute freshest, most amazing Salsa ever. Fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas are my favs.

This is basic Mexican food. We both happened to have enchiladas. Mine was beef and my daughter's was cheese. They both tasted a little stale. They are heavily sauced with very little inside. The cheese just tastes like cheap american cheese. The only saving grace is their salsa. It is more of a thick sauce as opposed to a salsa, but very enjoyable. The server was a little in the weeds as well. She was very nice, but slow to see us and then charged us the wrong table at the end. We had to sit and try to get her attention which seemed to take a while. She was not very observant. This restaurant is adequate. You are going to have edible food, just nothing special.

Bland mushy unseasoned "Mexican" food. The margaritas taste like a pure glass of margaritas mix. Too sweet, too sour, no tequila. Also should mention questionable cleanliness. I now understand why the lights are dim. Walls and table edges are sticky.

The service was absolutely FANTASTIC! Everyone working was so kind, actively taking care of every table in the room. Amazing mom and pop vibes. They were efficient and welcoming, greeting every single person that came through the door. They replaced our chips/salsa/drinks before we even had to ask. It was wonderful and if I lived closer, I'd be a regular. Definitely support this small business. You can tell the people there really care. Their Christmas decorations were also beautiful :)

This place doesn't look like much, but the service was warm and friendly and the food was very good. I'm picky about my spinach quesadillas and theirs was some of the best I've had. A bigger scoop of guac would have been great, but still very tasty and satisfying. Husband had the ground beef burrito which was very good and a good portion size. Salsa was flavorful. All in all a good find!

Food was good and the service was excellent. Very friendly atmosphere. Ordered the huevos con chorizo... delicious!
