Tampa - Tastefully decorated Mexican restaurant. I had the shrimp "a la diabla" that was excellent. It is quite spicy and the shrimp were perfectly prepared. Very fresh salsa with chips to start. Service was equally great. Will be back.

Honestly it could be better. I would rather DoorDash from this place than dine in. The food is only ok compared to many other places I've been to around New Tampa. The service is extremely slow!!! Took about 10-15 mins for the waitress to come back each time she left. The worst time for Valentines dinner with my husband. I recommend other places if you're hangry and not trying to wait because you have things to do and time is of the essence for you.

We had a very nice Spanish waitress. They have live Mexican music so while he was performing I think it was difficult for our waitress to hear to take our order. However she got it right and we didn't have to wait long. Everything was hot and delicious. Our birthday guest got a free sopa pilla!

Very good as usual. Fajitas wee on point and service is acceptable. I love the fresh taste and this time they definitely had a hint of chipotle spice on the chicken. Just enough to take it interesting. Onions were caramelized. Sides were fresh and the corn tortillas were also very good. Chips and salsa on point!

Went in for lunch and the place was empty. Free chips and salsa were nice. Salsa was pretty good! We added guac and queso which were also good but very pricy. The main entrees we ordered were actually very pricy too imo, given such tiny portion sizes. Tacos had little meat and very salty but overall taste was on point. Fajitas were also very salty. Overall we weren't too impressed... just your average Mexican place!

First time eating here with a group of friends. I ordered the chicken fajitas and my wife got the chimichanga. The fajitas came with three of the smallest flour tortillas I have ever seen. The chicken had very little seasoning, if any. The vegetables were reminicent of a bag of frozen peppers and onions you get from the grocery and heat up. I tasted the chimichanga and it was also very bland. The chips and salsa were decent. The highlight of the meal was dessert. We tried both the sopapillas and churros. I would recommend them if you wanted to just stop in for dessert.

Don Julios is one of my go to chains in central Florida. The reason I know they're a chain is because it's what you would expect for a Tex-Mex chain. The prices are slightly higher than you'd expect, but... again it's a franchise.When you walk in they are quick to shoot warm smiles and accommodate for any special requests you have. Once you are seated you notice the beautiful paintings and seating setup that will have you relaxed, and in the mood for a good drink (which they have a fantastic menu, and I do recommend the toquilla). The appetizer of preference is the alota (corn) and they have their famous enchiladas which have a white cheese sauce you can't put your finger on, but you want to ask for extra sauce after eating it!One warning is do expect to be so full you'll need a to go box! The portions are measured on the price, and so you can say you'll have enough for a second meal. This is a family friendly place I recommend you bring guests too.

just moved to the great state of florida and reside in tampa....i have been to several mexican restaurants and this is the best authentic mexican restaurant so far. i had the chicken enchiladas with the rojos sauce and it was excellent. a side of homemade corn tortillas and a margarita were well worth the visit. service was good...place was clean...ill be back
