Great new Puerto Rican Bakery & Restaurant in South Lakeland, great location corner of Combee & Commerce. Their first store is in Haines City. "Don" sorta means "Sir" and "Criollo" is the word for meaning "person of full Spanish decent". Their bakery is large, filled with temblique, flan, guava pastries, puffs, cakes, turnovers, budin (bread pudding)--all large & yummy. They also serve breakfast and lunch, pulling from piping hot bins of foods. You can get an isolated item or a complete meal with things like rice & beans. There beef stew was perfectly cooked. Also enjoyed a traditional chicken "fideo" soup (chicken noodle). They have a sandwich list I have not tried yet. Also not sure their drive-thru window is open/used. Their hours are great. They use a great coffee. They also do custom cakes. Staff is friendly and work quickly--some do not speak English, but so far there's always 1 or 2 that do. Prices are fair. The only thing keeping me from 5 stars is that nothing is visible priced so you have to ask on every single item. Nothing is named, in English or Spanish (and should be both if they wish a larger English-speaking audience). They need to have the item names & prices displayed.
