What a blast this place was! We came here for dinner to celebrate my cousin's bachelorette party, and it was so much fun! From the food, hookah, drinks, and entertainment--this was the spot to be! The food was fresh, tasty, and perfect for sharing family-style with our group. The hookah flavors were on point, with fresh, flavorful options, and they made sure our coals were always stocked. The entertainment was the highlight! When the performers came out, everyone got up to dance, and the music was fantastic. They even did a special dance for our bride-to-be, which was a thoughtful touch. We loved the Middle Eastern vibes and the playlist full of songs we knew. Sitting outdoors to enjoy the weather was also a great bonus.I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Tampa!

decided to try this restaurant before attending a show at the Tampa theater, which was very close by.mediterranean food is undoubtedly one of my favorites came over to see if we wanted a drink, my son and I don't drink alcohol very often and we just wanted a glass of water with our meal. Well, she seemed a little put out by this which made things just a little bit uncomfortable.not seeing anything on the crazy about eating, I ended up getting a and an order of spanakopita. Both were good but good. My son had the chicken kebabs. I knew when they brought that order over that there was no way that was going to fill up my son. And for $30 I don't think it was worth it and neither did he.The waitress came over and told us they had a limit on how long we be in our seats because they were expecting it to be a busy night. I thought that was extremely rude. We had a show to go to so we weren't planning to sit there all night, anyhow. So $80 later and a rude and unfriendly waitress, we left this place and both agreed we would never return.

Honest review**there might be hidden fees(not letting you know until they charge you on your bill), 20% gratuity added, indoor & outdoor seating (quite a lot of seats), sit outside if you are interested in hookah, 2 hr limit on the tablesThe food is decent, but nothing amazing. Tried the calamari which my friend ordered and the hummus. Not a bad vibe on the streets or indoors. (Just me making sure my fellow future customers are aware)I ate prior to coming to this place so I wasn't hungry, but I ordered a regular hummus to snack on. But when I was ordering, I asked does it come with pita bread, our server Jessica said "yes it does" like I asked a "of course" question. I asked cause some places have you order it on the side which I don't mind. But to see my hummus come out to $10 when it was $9, I asked cause I was confused if she hit the wrong button? She said "Ohh it comes with one pita bread with the hummus but more is $1." I said okay that's fine, but why did you say it comes with pita bread then charge me another dollar in my head. Sketchy for not being up front. Also we were technically a party of 3 since one of our friends didn't end up coming, but 20% gratuity already on the bill? I was like whatever, but really is this right? My friend asked if they had ranch, of course no ranch, but offered aioli sauce, but charged for it on the bill. Sub for Truffle fries is extra $5 fyi.I have worked as a server before and I personally think being upfront is very important with customers. However, I guess this place is sneaky with adding charges to get more tip? She was nice, but be upfront with your customers is all I ask for. I won't be returning :)

We were expecting something more casual than what Yelp displays here, and tastier food. The restaurant was expensive enough to warrant $$$ instead of two. The service was good, but the ambiance was just so-so. We sat outside, and they piped some music through muffled (old? cheap?) speakers that was not very pleasant. The food felt like it was almost good, but fell flat in a few places, making the higher price than expected a bit annoying. The truffle fries were crispy perfection, and the lamb chops were well-cooked and seasoned. The snapper was also well-seasoned, but a little over-cooked and dry, while the wasabi sauce had no personality or kick. The sauce merely helped to mask the dry fish. The vegetable sides of asparagus and zucchini ribbons were nothing special either. They were fine. I think the meal would have been more enjoyable at a lower price. We were expecting more after looking at the menu.

This was my 2nd time visiting Dio and it was just ok. The location and the vibes are great but the menu is super limited with only about 6 entrees to choose from & the night I went they were out of at least 2 of the dishes my table ordered. So we all settled on the chicken kabobs. They all came out with a grand presentation which was kind of funny considering our table was full of these chickens just dangling on a stick. I see the vision but they missed the mark as far as taste. We could see all the other tables ordering some kind of kabobs bc that's basically all they had on the menu. It was crazy to see how many of these kabob set ups they had knowing there wasn't enough food to serve the entire menu. Our under seasoned hanging chickens costed us a whopping $29 each which is a pretty steep price considering it didn't taste great at all. What we didnt finish we boxed up and gave to a unhoused person nearby. I guess this place is worth the experience being that it's a downtown Tampa hotspot, the drinks are great, they have hookah and live music. But keep your expectations low when it comes to the food.

I was looking for an alternative to another restaurant whose kitchen was closed ~10pm on Saturday night. Walking past Dio, it was a very lively patio with live music. I was asked if I wanted to sit indoors or outdoors and was subsequently seated promptly outdoors. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered all mezze plates - Lebneh and roasted eggplant, spanakopita and saganaki. Both the former were delicious. Saganaki, I personally find very salty but the first couple bites until I no longer wanted it was good. The ambiance was fun, live dancers even made an appearance and some guests were dancing by their tables. The restaurant also offers hookah which I did not order but was available to do so. Ambiance was very Miami like. And nothing in the immediate area seemed open for food, so it was a great find on a whim!

Nice place but way overpriced. We sat outside, it was really a good vibe, good service, and the food was great. We didn't order a main dish, just a couple of appetizers and our bill was really high. Overall we really liked the place. However, I don't feel like their unreasonable high prices are justified whatsoever.

Came during lunch since it is close to the office and it was very busy but the food came out relatively quickly which was nice. I had the chicken soulvaki and it was flavorful and large enough to share. My coworkers enjoyed their meals as well. It is on the pricer side of lunch but it is downtown so it is expected.
