Denny’s Wooden Spoon

As soon as I walked in, I could smell the delicious aroma of the food that had already been cooked. The place is very casual, but the service is extremely friendly. For lunch you have a buffet that is less than $10, but we decided to offer for the Mofongo and the chicken with vegetables.The portions are huge, and I have two more meals left out of my shrimp and garlic Mofongo. The other two folks that I had lunch with also have huge boxes of leftovers so you will not leave here hungry.Very nice owner, and while he's only been open for four months, I saw a lot of takeout flying out the door. If you're into great Latin American, food, then run to this place today.

As part of getting together with a friend and exploring locally owned restaurants we chose to come to this location. As soon as we entered we were greeted by the one worker behind the counter. I was nervous at first as the location was empty and I thought this was more a sit down restaurant but it is an order at the counter and take a seat location, plenty of seating is provided, however most people were taking their food to go we learned. Very clean location. The food was amazing! It's been awhile since I have been able to have good Hispanic food and this was it!!! The Pernil was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice was amazing. The only complaint we had was we didn't love the chicken empanadas but everything was so good, it more than made up for it!Just a warning though, don't wait til closing as they do sell out of food. While we were there we were the only ones sitting but at least 30 people came in and out with to go orders so they ended up closing early after running out of food! We will be back for sure!
