I walked into the cute cafe all excited to try it before taking my family here. I walked towards the restroom and the owner said it's for customers only. After sharing that I was there to dine, and that I'm excited to bring my family, she told me that I wasn't welcome, because I had to pay to use the restroom. After walking a mile from my house in Uptown, I had to use the restroom. Badly. But, the lady at the counter proceeded to publicly humiliate me in front of every table there, screaming from the register not to come back. For trying to use the bathroom before ordering lunch?! Absurd. Rude. Sad. Embarrassing. Not a place to take your family. Or yourself.

Step inside to a taste of France. It is a small place that is typical of what your would find if you spent some time there. So, when I went inside it was like going back over there. There was so much to select from. A great variety. Before I go the BLT. Another time a quiche. Maybe a schnitzel as we do go through Europe from France through Germany. And pastries are perfect. Bring me a strudel and I am happy. Again, being homemade it is ideal to enjoy with each bite you take. Freshly made and tasty to perfect. This is home mad and not store bought. The variety is ideal. Salads, sandwich, a plate, a meal. Time and day works for you. The Bistro is the place. It is also a bit of Deja Vu...Enjoy.

I am so conflicted about this place. I have passed Deja Vu many times and it looks cute so I've been meaning to go for a while! I stopped by yesterday and it is adorable inside! Nice decor, books, games, a cute cozy vibe. It was raining so I ordered a hot chocolate and my friend ordered a caramel latte, we shared a peach cobbler. All of which was delicious! However, my friend and I checked some other reviews of Déjà Vu after sitting down and immediately had several reviews regarding the homophobia, transphobia, and general disrespect by the owner brought to our attention. Bianca, the owner, was very kind to us. Though we are aware that we are two White, cis girls, who aren't necessarily apparently queer looking. If you are thinking the instances mentioned in the other negative reviews are lies, or are experiences misinterpreted by the customer, I highly recommend looking at the responses to these reviews by Bianca the owner, especially on Trip Advisor and Google Reviews. She doubles down, calls the customers names, and is generally extremely rude. If you are someone who worries about your safety as a queer person, just to be safe I would skip. And if you're looking to give your money to a business that better represents your values, maybe think about supporting some of the other local Coffeeshops in the area.In conclusion, 5 stars for MY experience, 5 stars for the drinks, 4 stars for the food, 0 stars for what I learned about the owner.

This cafe is my Wife and I's favorite spot in St. Pete! We come here twice a week now because the food is SO fresh and Bianca is such a sweetheart. My favorite coffees are the Pistachio Latte, although I've had both the Lavender and Chai Latte and those are fabulous as well. My favorite dish is the Greek salad which is the best salad I've ever had because it's so fresh, but anything on the menu is amazing. This is a cafe where you'll want to sit and enjoy the ambiance and food and not be in a rush. It is simply the best!

My favorite cafe in St. Pete! Best sourdough, quiche, BLT, and chai tea you will find at a restaurant. (Not to mention their delicious assortment of freshly made pastries) The owner is the sweetest person, and truly cares about the food she serves you. If you haven't been, I encourage you to stop by and check out this lovely space.

I went back and forth for a long time about this review. If you just want a quick coffee or pastry and don't care about who your money goes to, it's great! Unfortunately, the owner has left some very cruel, ableist, anti-mask, homophobic comments on other reviews so as an immunocompromised queer woman I don't think I'll be back. But I won't tell you what to do, read through the owner's replies and decide for yourself. The coffee and food are good, the owner's behavior unfortunately does not seem to match.

My partner and I came in, I have a skin disorder currently being treated by a new medication. I was having an allergic reaction to the new med and due to loss of vision desperately needed to flush out my eyes. At the front door it said that non-customers could not use the restroom and that offenders would be charged $5. Desperate for relief, we decided to enter and go directly to the staff to pay for me using the restroom, so they would know we weren't trying to deceive them. Upon entering, we were stopped by what I assume is the owner. In front of all of the customers she said I could not use the restroom and started raising her voice. We began to explain that it was emergency and that I was having an allergic reaction to a new medication and needed to flush my eyes, but she wouldn't let us speak. She kept saying the restroom was only for customers. I brought out the medication to show her we were telling the truth and really were willing to pay the $5 fee and she insisted only customers could use the restroom, that I was not allowed. So then my partner offered to step in line to buy a coffee so that I could use the restroom and the owner began to yell, telling us to leave her shop. At this point I am in tears trying to explain that we would do whatever we needed to to do have access to cold water and she started waving her hands and yelling more, making her way to in front of us. I left, in shock by the way we were treated, and headed down the block in desperate search for any open business. Luckily a church graciously let us in and I was able to gain my vision back. But this business owner is incredibly hateful, disrespectful, aggressive, and seems to be homophobic. I have never been treated so awfully by a business and am disheartened to see a business in as progressive of a place as Saint Pete Central Station Street, famous for being the "Gayborhood", showing absolute hatred, discrimination, and intolerance.
