Ended up ordering two standout dishes: the cevapi in garlic sauce and a classic Caesar salad.The cevapi were simply incredible! These small, flavorful Balkan sausages were tender and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of char. The garlic sauce that accompanied them was a game-changer--creamy, rich, and with a punch of garlic that complemented the savory meat beautifully. It's a dish I'd highly recommend if you're in the mood for something hearty and delicious.The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, with a well-balanced dressing that wasn't too heavy, letting the flavors of the romaine and parmesan shine. The croutons were perfectly crunchy and added a nice texture to the salad.Overall, the combination of these two dishes was a hit. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere at Daily News is casual yet cozy--ideal for a quick bite or a leisurely meal. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their menu

Just had a lovely lunch at Daily News Cafe. We were warmly greeted outside by, I assume, one of the owners. The outside seating area is nice and secluded and the inside has a really cozy feeling with nice music playing. They've done a beautiful job with ambiance. We each had salad, one Caesar and one Shopska. The Caesar was really tasty and the Shopska was fresh. I would have preferred more seasoning and less feta, but probably most people wouldn't prefer that. Then we shared the soup of the day and the mixed platter for one. I wish I had their menu in front of me so I could be more specific, but the soup was a bean and sausage soup that was delicious, thick and just lightly smoky. Creamy from the beans, not any dairy product. Highly recommend. Then we shared the mixed platter for one-- it comes with a ground meat and spice patty, two kinds of sausages, and a chicken skewer. It was plenty for two people with our salads. We really enjoyed the ground meat patty and will come back specifically to get that again. The sausages were tasty, but we couldn't tell a big difference between them-- just yummy in general. And the platter also came with steak cut fries and a plate of the cabbage salad/slaw, which I enjoyed to counterbalance all that delicious meatiness. Both the soup and the platter came with bread. We preferred the bread that came with the soup, the other had oil brushed on top, but again, that comes down to just personal preference. Sorry for no pictures. I didn't think of writing a review while I was there, but after I left I found myself smiling thinking about what a very nice lunch and experience that was and thought I'd like to leave a review in case it helps the next person.

Yummm! I've been wanting to try this little gem for a while now. I visited during the week around 6:30pm and was able to get seated right away. The inside is so cute! Our waitress was great and answered all our questions. I had a "build your own pasta" dish which I made chicken scampi and it was delicious. The bruschetta was tasty as well. I would definitely go back as there were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. Plenty of parking as well.

Food was amazing, decor inside was quite and dark. The waiters attended to our every need. Lots of choices and great rapport.

I was pretty surprised by this local spot. The fried dough and broccoli soup were true standouts. I didn't have a chance to try the sausages or meat patties, but my friend did and said it was fantastic. Great prices!

We've driven by Daily News for years & finally decided to give it a try. I have to admit this is a hard restaurant to put a label on & explain. The decor & the menu are all over the place. Part of the interior looks like an Eastern European wood hut. On the wall though there is a montage of black & white photos of Hollywood actors & actresses. A shingle can be seen hung near the bar that says Daily News. I have no idea what that means. The menu has European dishes, Thai dishes, Mexican dishes, & so on. I decided to try their ricotta pesto pierogies in a garlic sauce. My wife got their chicken tacos. Both were good to very good, but maybe one star shy of excellent. The service inside was good, but not a stand out. I really don't know how to describe this place. It is for sure unique.

I like ethnic food. If you wants a chance to try food from the former Yugoslavia this is the place to come. I got the mixed combo plate. It had a lot of meat which is typical for this type of cuisine. Sausages, skewers and lamb were all very authentic. It tasted like food I ate in Bosnia and Croatia. The big thick pieces of bread are a cross between focaccia and pita. Yum. Raw diced onion to eat with the meat was a nice regional touch. The wood lined dining room was cozy. The choice of Croatian wines was a delightful surprise. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. I think she was the owners wife. I hope they manage to keep a taste of the Croatian coast open in Clearwater.

A great multi cuisine restaurant combining authentic flavors from several countries.This place has been on my list of places to try so I did just that on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The interior decor and layout of this place is quite nice. There's a cozy and comforting feeling in this place.Staff is really great here. Since it was our first time and since we wanted to try something authentic our server recommended the daily news shrimp as an appetizer and the Cevapi (in garlic sauce is what I went with). The shrimp dish was absolutely amazing. Perfect blend of flavors for any pallet. The Cevapi was also delicious. It was definitely a unique dish that you wouldn't normally find in the States. The garlic sauce was a great addon and the bread that accompanied it was baked fresh and really good.I will definitely be back here. Great place, great service, great atmosphere, and great food.

My husband & I discovered this place a few months ago. Since a changes in our schedules it has been our Friday go to. Their grilled salmon is my favorite dish with the amazing salad under neither.

Excellent food & service. I tried the Sudzukice & Cevapi. Sausages served on this great bred kind of like pita but much more airy. It was delicious.
