Da Spot

This is an eclectic restaurant located just a couple blocks from the main Tarpon Springs shopping district.Food was above average. Huge appetizers. Smaller meat portion that had dirty rice. It was tasty. No ability to apply or adjust the sauce. And only one type as far as I could tell. Even when you order to eat there it comes in a Styrofoam box with plastic silverware.Bottomline is to come here for the good BBQ but don't expect much else. You order at an impromptu table that does have a menu. Then pay on the tablet. The lady brought the drinks out in their original containers. The rootbeer I ordered was semi-cold. Then brought entrees out in less than ten minutes. You toss your trash into an open garbage can next to the door.More people appear to order for takeout. The inside has almost zero ambiance. It looks like many shower curtains are hung on the walls. They were setting up for some kind of party that night. They have various other areas that weren't open. They had to walk down several corridors to show where the bathroom was located.Tip: after you're done there is a really cool place about a block across the Pinellas Trail called Architectural Salvage. Some super cool old stuff in there, including old license plates, music albums and a lot of treasures.

Amazing bbq spare ribs and Mac and cheese! We were visiting Tarpon Springs for some Greek and this place caught our eye instead.The food was delicious and service very friendly. It looked like it was mostly takeout which we didn't understand since the outdoor area was so nice! They had people waiting for food at all times while we were there.We felt very comfortable as they were accommodating of our large pup with their outdoor area.What we had:Spare ribsMac and cheese Collard greens Brisket We loved everything except the brisket was a bit too sweet and not as juicy as we would've liked.We will drive out to Tarpon again for this! Delicious Smoked Meats and fishes...need I saw more?! Oh wait, the veggies are seasoned and delicious too! You can smell the aroma lure you in from a mile away. So we did :)Ribs, mac & cheese, and baked beans. I wanted collard greens but I couldn't talk him into it. lolGET THE NAPKINS, TAKE HANDY WIPES! (You can thank me later for that hint.)Fall off the bone savory BBQ that I could not stop eating. I thought the mac & cheese could have used more cheese but it could have been having a bad day. Don't hate on it...Get it! Staff behind the tiny window is super sweet and helpful with your selection process. She did not steer us wrong. It is an outside eating venue... prepare to sweat or just take it home and tell all of your guests that you cooked it!Delicious!See you soon :)

If you're looking for BBQ, it feels like a crime to NOT go here. This spot is nestled right behind the city center and by some of the breweries, but you can trace the smell of the BBQ from down the street and it is heavenly. The atmosphere is awesome and there's tons of outdoor seating after ordering at the window, perfect for a late afternoon, but there's also covers for shade during the day. Now to the food... I have travelled to Texas, Kansas City, and was born and raised in North Florida and this is some of the BEST BBQ I've ever had in my life. All the items have their own unique flavor to it and are cooked to perfection. My favorite part was the sides... the baked beans here are incredible with the perfect amount of smoke and sweet. The best... the Mac and cheese! I literally did a happy dance after my first bite. You really can't go wrong with any of the selections here to be honest. If you're in town... for sure stop by Da Spot.

My local friend suggested trying this place because it's all everybody on Tarpon Springs Facebook is talking about. Okay... I am not on FB but always game to check out a new spot. The place has a few tables for outside seating, but we plan to order take out for lunch to avoid them running out of food. We placed our order ahead of time, but when we arrived, they explained that they prepare everything fresh for us, so it was still a bit of a wait as they readied our order. The food is definitely worth the wait. The ribs are tender (though we suspect if we go for dinner it would be even better) and the sauce so good. For sides you must get the beans. I hate baked beans from a can but these little gems are so soft with a smoky sweetness to it. My friend loves her chicken too. This place is only open from Friday to Sunday, till around "sundown" or when they sold out. A few times we pass by on other days, our mouths start drooling and we wish so much they were open for more days!! Also note that this is a small spot with only two people working. So take it in stride if nobody picks up the phone. The staff is nice, just that it's a small operation. If you can't handle that, plenty of chains if you go up on 19.

Well, I tried to try Da Spot but they simply aren't open when advertised. I popped by Sunday morning for breakfast and although the smoker was smoking, the building was locked up tight! No breakfast for me! Time for plan B!Life will be good when I finally get to try this place.

The best decision I made was to try out this BBQ. I was real bbq ribs, which exceeded my expectations. The Mac n cheese could be better, but the real star was the fall off the bone ribs

The brisket was amazing! The fries were seasoned well. The Mac and cheese had great flavor. The staff was attentive and got our food out quickly. We took ours to go, but they have outdoor picnic tables. We can't wait to come back!

They make amazing pulled pork and coleslaw, and they are very friendly and customer oriented. A rare find.

I'm not a big rib person, but Da Spots ribs are delicious! They're cooked perfectly and the sauce has a bit of a zing to it. They have good sized portions and you don't leave hungry.
