The pool is very nice. But for the money the city spent, they could have at least brought the lights up to code. Sadly, they did not and so the city shut down their own pool after dusk. The views and the architecture in Cuscaden Park are second to none. They reek of old Tampa and Ybor history. And the fact that this pool is smack dab in the middle of the urban core is nothing short of awesome! Now the downside... while there's a lot to love about Cuscaden Pool, if you're planning a pool day/picnic, think again. You cannot bring any food or beverages into the pool area: not behind the fence where the seats are, not anywhere. IMO, this puts a bit of a damper on what otherwise is a fantastic pool park in Tampa's urban core.

Cool off with a dipPublic pools don't allow flips...Cuscaden is it.Just come check this pool out. It's a giant above ground pool from the 60's and newly renovated. There are 4 small lanes for laps, And it's pretty deep for the kiddos 4-5.5 feet, they have some floatation devices for little ones, and a small spray park. It's four dollars to swim for a day, or get a rec card for $15, and you can swim in any tampa public pool for the year. There is shade, some chairs, nice employees, clean facilities, parking. Seriously, why aren't more people into this?

Wanted to check out pools to bring the family close to Seminole heights area. Found this one upon my google yelp searches and liked they offered day pass to try it out. It's part of the Tampa Rec center so if you or any family members are enrolled in dancing sports you maybe a part of the membership to just swim. In our case my daughter does some dancing at Wayne c pappy so she was free and for $15 each for anyone else your good for whole year to swim. This includes all other pools in Tampa. Davis island pool is very similar and is part of this membership. Sulfur springs another on the list to try out. It's located in upcoming north section of Ybor but the facility has already been totally renovated back to its original 1930s look. It's cool how the pool sits on the second floor. I believe it was renovated just 2 years ago. Super clean good amount or parking in lot and on both directions of 15th street.Staff when you enter is very welcoming and the there are at least 2 life guards at the pool at all times. Extremely attentive to keep it safe and prevent roudiness. I've been twice now, on the weekend and both times not too busy. Saw some of the same people from last time. Will be I continue to bring the family when we want to swim
