I really like this place. The menu is simple but good. We normally come for breakfast, but tried out their lunch menu today. Our server was very friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our drinks and checking on us throughout the meal. It's definitely a home style restaurant, not the fanciest but you can tell everything is made fresh and with love. Reasonably priced, and consistently good. We'll be back!

Covered Bridge is a wonderful local place for breakfast & lunch that's been a neighborhood staple for years, but my husband & I only just discovered it. It offers large portions at a reasonable price with friendly service. Hubby very much enjoyed his (positively stuffed with) bacon omelette with (2 slices of) wheat toast & home fries. I couldn't make up my mind so ordered (for just $15!) what was basically an Everything Platter: 2 giant pancakes, 2 full French toast slices, 2 perfect over medium eggs, a sausage patty, & 4 slices of crispy bacon. It came on 2 plates and doubled as my dinner! Definitely check out this unpretentious spot but it's open limited hours so plan to go on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday between 7 am & 2 pm.

We are only part-timers in Dunedin, but whenever we're in town, our first stop is Covered Bridge. The nicest people (especially to our special needs daughter), a cute and fun setting, delicious food, and reasonable prices. What more can one ask for? We usually come for breakfast (often passing by on our morning walk). Coffee is always delicious (a sine qua non for me). I usually get one of the generous omelettes (Mediterranean is my favorite), my wife loves the breakfast wrap, and our daughter (who was tube-fed for most of her life) finishes off a plate-sized pancake plus scrambled egg (what an achievement for her!). When we have lunch, I most enjoy the over-packed tuna sandwich; my wife goes for the rueben, and Charlotte can (amazingly) finish off her "king-sized" spaghetti and meatballs. On our visit to Covered Bridge this week, we were treated to a free Christmas Pancake dessert (see attached photo), and a visit to our table by the chef to wish us a Merry Christmas. What a sweet touch, and how great it is to feel "at home" in our favorite restaurant of our "second home"!Visit Covered Bridge for great food and be part of their family!

My husband got breakfast from here the other day because his coworker did and he wanted to go there today so off we went. This is definitely more of a him place than a me place in that they have basic breakfasts. He's a meat and potatoes guy, I am more of a veggie and a bit of a foodie so I like fancy healthy things. That being said, I was able to order a veggie wrap and asked if they could add spinach and they did. It is a two egg wrap with onions, peppers, tomatoes and your choice of cheese and they grill up the outside nicely. When you arrive, you seat yourself. We weren't sure but we went ahead and sat down and people coming in after did the same. They are at full capacity again, which made me a little nervous in the time of covid. There is outside seating, but it is still pretty hot outside.Several senior citizens came in and are clearly regulars because the staff knows them and some of them said hi to each other so it is a nice little local joint. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was on top of things. They also were wearing masks. If my hubs wants to go here again for breakfast, I won't put up a fight, lol!

Pros:Ambiance: I Liked the authentic "hometown" local feel. Authentic not because they've done a good job copying authenticity, but because they actually are what they appear to be.Portions: Large portions!Home Fries: top 5 ever. So good!Grits: Buttery and good.Cons:No reservations and no waiting list and no promises of any particular wait time. 100% honor system...which means staring a people eating and when they are done...pouncing on their dirty table. Bacon: Yep, bacon. The bacon was paper thin and literally tasteless. I thought for a second "do I have Covid? Have I lost my sense of taste" until my daughter asked me what was up with the bacon.Fruit: My daughter ordered pancakes with strawberries on top and the strawberries were clearly the frozen type. A mushy yuck mess that made the pancakes soggy and gross. Strawberries are a readily available fruit...I don't understand using frozen onesCoffee: Weak weak coffee. As if the grounds were used twice. Crowded: No waiting area so you have to crowd around the door if you choose to wait. Many came, looked and left. Also, even though only every other table was being used because of Covid, it was still crazy tight. I'd recommend removing the unused tables instead of just not using them. I can't imagine this place pre-covidSummary: At the end of the day it wasn't "bad" it just wasn't great. If you are in the area I'd recommend giving it a shot and see what you think.

We went there at 4:30 pm for dinner, they no longer serve dinner. They were closed. Really disappointed turned out they have new owners. Cross them off my list.

As locals we kept missing the opportunity to try this restaurant due to their limited hours. Today we finally got to try it and the service was exceptional from the servers that is the only thing good I can say. We waited nearly an hour and a half to get our food. When it finally arrived, the eggs were like rubber and over cooked for our order, the bacon severely overcooked and the home fries were mushy, was an extremely odd unexplainable flavor. If you are looking for Great toast, coffee and a place to hang out for a couple of hours to get your toast than this is the place for you. Our server in particular went out of her way but it is not her fault that the owner does not seem to know how to cook or manage. If you are looking for good food, I would consider going somewhere else.
