Coconut Charlie's Beach Bar & Grill

I love trying out new places, especially with locals who recommend them! Coconut Charlies is a great place to bring any one coming to visit from out of town! It gives them the view of the beach, drinks by the water, and great coastal food! This location has indoor and outdoor seating! AND it has its own beach access with a bar to get alcoholic beverages at rather than sitting down for a meal! It's a great place to get a bite to eat if you're staying in the double tree considering it is down stairs of the lobby! The parking is also great because there's a parking garage below the hotel and it is super convenient! The service was great! We were seated immediately for lunch on a weekend afternoon! Our server was attentive and there were no mistakes to our orders! The food was served hot and tasted amazing!

Stopped by Coconut Charlie's while my family was in town, and I realized I've been here so many times but never got around to reviewing this gem! I'm so happy they're open again after the hurricane--unfortunately, the businesses next door weren't as lucky.The drinks and food here are always good. But you can't beat the view. I got the coconut shrimp and the Pain in the Coconut drink--both were delicious! Service was a little slow, but we didn't mind since we just wanted to relax and hang out by the beach. Such a great spot, and I'll definitely keep coming back!

Such a great place with yummy food and drinks! The staff are all so amazing and friendly and the sunsets are incredible! We visit often!

The food was ok but the service was absolutely terrible. We found the restaurant on yelp - looking for a nice lunch spot on the water. We were seated promptly on the patio which was really nice considering we had 6 in our party (2 adults and 4 kiddos). Our servers name was David. He was rude and short with us. The food came out wrong so I mentioned that I would remove the croutons from my daughter's salad and he said "oh I even made sure I entered it with no croutons". Well eitherway he brought it out with croutons so that was weird. He asked if I wanted it remade and I agreed. He walked away angry and called me a bitch. We will never go back there ever again. I would not recommend this restaurant. The nachos were tortilla chips covered in a cold cheese sauce with sprinkled cold shredded cheese topped with cold chicken, the hot dog plates for a few of the kiddos were fine. My shrimp rice bowl was flavorless but the shrimp was good. My husbands fish tacos were terrible. Definitely not a kid friendly atmosphere either. No kids menus or crayons which is fine but the food service took a long time so the kiddos were restless.

We are currently staying at this hotel and their restaurant is amazing. The service, friendliness of staff and atmosphere is top tier. Beautiful sunset and great ambiance. Not only for hotel guests but also for locals. I wholeheartedly recommend the bang bang shrimp, kale slaw chicken wings and burgers.

We decided to eat at the beach bar during our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn and it did not disappoint. There are many food and drink options, and the staff was eager to please. We had to send one meal back but it wasn't due to anything the restaurant did, but more a food option that one person in our party couldn't eat. The waiter was really friendly and exchanged the meal without hesitation. There was music playing as we sat outside and relaxed by the beach. All in all, it was a great meal enjoyed with great company and we will be going back! The portions are large too which made sharing more fun.

Is this place spectacular? No, it's a hotel restaurant. So why am I giving it 5 stars? Because for a hotel restaurant the food is actually really good. It's not gourmet, it's not fancy, but it's tasty, the poached eggs were poached perfectly and the potatoes have a great flavor despite being fried. The place is spotless and the waitress is a doll. Would I go out of my way to come here? Nope. But if I am in the area I would absolutely eat breakfast here.

Bartender at beach bar was a horrible person. Anyplace is better than this place. Doesn't know how to mix a drink. And when we asked waitress to bring it back she treated us like crap.

Best view around, maybe 100 feet from the Gulf. Crystal made us great and strong cocktails, Sand Bagger and Rum Runners. Food fast and hot, cheeseburger good with super crunchy fries. Also did the chicken bowl, good but not as good as the burger. Love the DoubleTree vibe.

We had a very bad experience. I went with my daughter during sunset for a tropical drink. I ordered a strawberry dacquiri and my daughter a virgin pina colada. We sat outside at the bar. As a mom who knew my daughter has not drank alcohol for 10 years told the waitress Chrissy 3 times to make sure no alcohol. She brought the drinks. My daughter took a big sip of her pina colada's and realized it was strong alcohol. I proceeded to tell the waitress and she grabbed our drinks out of our hands. There was no apology . She brought back 2 new drinks and told us sarcastically pina colada had no alcohol. She charged us 24 for both and not even I am sorry! My daughter wanted to just leave and went home and just vomited. It was a bad experience.
