Coming from NY I want real Chinese food - none come close but China Express has been the closest. t's a small hole in the wall location - where you can get lunch or dinner platters or get whole meals for the family. There's no place to eat but you can take it home and it will still be nice and hot. There's plenty of parking so no worry and there's other shops next door if you wish to try. Their crab ragoons are awesome!! Nice and crispy with just the right flavoring of crab and cream cheese. The fried rice has peas in it .. not a fav but they make it work. General Tsos Chicken is cooked to perfection. I also get the bones less spare ribs with some eggs rolls. My husband love the house Lo Mein. Really everything you get is delicious and cooked at your order.

In my eternal quest to find good Chinese Food in the Brandon/Valrico area, I came upon China Express while thumbing through YELP on a lazy Sunday afternoon. As with most Chinese food restaurants in the area, the reviews are extremely mixed (most are usually two and a half stars), so the only way to find out if you will like it is to make an order and judge yourself. I always apologize up front on Chinese food reviews because I am from New York, which has hands down the best Chinese food in the country outside of China itself, so yes my YELP family, I am a serious Chinese food snob. With that in mind, I didn't really go all out and order what I normally do as I really was just in the mood for fried rice and egg rolls. I went with a quart of Pork Fried Rice, and three (3) Pork Egg Rolls. The ordering process made my experience even more enjoyable. You can do everything online, and the prices are the same on the menu as they are online (that's a jab at you DoorDash and UberEats, who Jack up the prices on ALL of the food menus by a good 20-30%). You also can choose to pay at the restaurant instead of having to enter your credit card information, all you have to do is verify your telephone number using a text program that is built into their website, genius!!! My food was ready quickly, and was steaming hot when I picked it up, exactly the way you want. The pork fried rice was delicious and I ordered mine with extra egg, which I could see everywhere, gotta love it. The real star here (so far, until I go back and order my usual favorites) were the pork egg rolls. Far and away the best Egg Rolls I've had in this area. Crispy and flavorful, I honestly could have destroyed a dozen of them. So far my go to place for Chinese, will definitely be trying everything else!

We ordered food for delivery, just like we usually do from here. $35 worth of food, to be exact. $4.00 delivery charge, which is fine. The guy who delivered the food got a $5 tip, which I'm fine with. BUT! Never again! We ordered several items. First, the 12 wings. We ordered Salt & Pepper Wings. This time, our order arrived soggy, with absolutely no seasoning on the wings. They also had gone bad. Bad chicken-- not good. The Crab Rangoons were the most disgusting of all the food items. They were filled with spoiled, foamy, frothing cream cheese. Cream cheese has to be months old to have cooked up this way. Just disgusting. Puke. The entree of Lemon Chicken consisted of breast meat that was tough and minus any seasoning. Horrendously, a long hair was intertwined in between the breading and chicken, stuck in there between the goo of the under-cooked chicken and breading. Unacceptable! Eww, dude...wear a hair net, you filthy animal. The other issue was the breading didn't stick. Total.Fail. Last item, the Pork Egg Rolls, were overly greasy and had a sickening, rancid taste. Clearly, the ingredients inside were spoiled. Not.eating.any.of.that.I wanted a refund! So I called them. The "lady" on the phone identified herself as the owner and told me to bring the spoiled food back!I temporarily don't have a car, so I had no way to bring it back. (This is a big reason people get delivery! Duh!!) When I told her this, she said, "Sorry", and her tone said it all; she couldn't care less. She had no such intention of helping with the serious situation of delivering spoiled food. She even placed the phone down to talk to the cook because she didn't want to be bothered.Disgusting! She got back on the phone and told me again to bring the food back. I told her again I didn't have a car to bring it back. I actually don't understand why they would want spoiled food back in the first place. It's weird that though this "lady" knows the food is spoiled and there is no way in hello we are going to eat it, she wants it back? Hmmm. Disgusting. She finally said, "Sorry, too bad. I don't really care!" I proceeded to tell her that she was a horrible person. This "lady" actually said she didn't care. LOL, Okaaaay.Bad food + bad service is a negative experience in anyone's eyes. So much so that word eventually gets around. You can count on that.I was going to get a ride the next day to return the spoiled food, but have re-thought that now. That night, at 4am, I received a personal message from the "cook", threatening me with bodily harm if I ever stepped foot in "his" restaurant. He ended his message as if it's routine for him to threaten people with bodily harm. In this crazy mixed-up world, I don't take lightly to threats to hurt me physically. Oh, and nice language. Cook called me a "hoe" and the "N"-word. I was tempted to correct his English, and explain to him that a hoe is a gardening tool, but thought better of it.Eat at this disgusting place at your own risk.

Food was packed well - this was a delivery orderThe fried rice was goodThe curry chicken had very little curry or chicken. Light on sauce, heavy in onions, no spice. The spicy dumplings were heavy, sauce was sweet not spicy, and they were overcookedThe moo shu pork had very little pork. 96% vegetables. And no flavor. Hunan beef not spicy at all. Really disappointing.

Out of the places in Brandon this particular spot is consistent with the food. I have done take out each time I've gone. They are quick. Food is always hot and correct. They threw in a free egg roll both times we went as well. Their pork fried rice is some of the best I've had and I have been to many Chinese spots. This time around my husband got the spicy shrimp and broccoli and they actually added the spice to it. The shrimp were a good size too. I got the sweet and sour chicken but I usually get the Generals. The chicken was cooked well and the outside a perfect crunch. Now I will say their egg rolls aren't my favorite but I am a bit of stickler with those regardless of location. We always get the combo platters which are $8 and change. Definitely worth it for the amount of food you get and the egg roll. We will continue to go

Ordered 2 shrimp lo mein. 1 order of white rice and 3 egg rolls. Delivery - fairly quick, however food cold!! The shrimp lo mein was not a full portion. It was very skimpy, no flavor. Same thing for the white rice. Rice was in a very tiny box! 2 wrapped fortune cookies fit in the box of rice. The cost was almost 3.00 for less than a 1/2 cup of rice. No flavor in the food. Egg rolls - tastes like oil !!! This was a total disappointment. I thought I would try them again as I got terrible food and service a few months ago. Delivery, food, tip and other fees almost 40.00.
