Favorite Chinese place around! The best fried chicken. Always quick with their orders. Never have to wait too long to enjoy my food. Also give extra sauce if you ask which is nice.

Ordered a quart of beef lo mien to go. took it home, ate about half of it. Beef barely made an appearance, and had way too many onions. Truely awful. Threw the rest out, and I don't waste food.

Food was decent for carry out Chinese food. The place itself needs a little cleaning. The service was good, family owned and operated.

We ordered $70 worth of food and all of it was bad. This is our first order with them. We will not be back. Chinese food is about the only food we order out. This place was more expensive than most and I have ordered from most of the places that deliver in my radius and even gone to pick up from some that do not. This China 1 has been by far the worst. I have yet to find a place to order from regularly as they are all so inconsistent. It is very frustrating. We took a chance on this China 1 and were very disappointed. The steamed dumplings were very sad. More dough than filling. I think the filling is chicken and it has a different flavor. Kinda sweet and oddly spiced. We did not like the dumpling sauce either - but this is often hit or miss with us and not a big let down. The shrimp toast was rancid. Tasted like the oil they were fried in has never been changed and the 'shrimp' part tasted like cat food left to rot in the sun. The crab rangoons (my favorite thing and what I judge the restaurant by) were equally as terrible. They all seemed to have different wrapper textures. The filling, which there was too little of, had little to no flavor and what flavor I could taste was very off. Plus it was grainy and had flakes of what looked like carrot. The sweet and sour sauce that accompanied them also had an off flavor - which is strange because I was under the impression that stuff was bought in powder form and then the restaurant just added water. This sauce is usually pretty consistent across restaurants. China 1 on Missouri did something wrong to it. The honey chicken was 'sweet and sour' nuggets with 'honey' sauce on the side. The chicken itself was mostly breading and just tasted a bit off - not terrible and more edible than the rest of the food. The honey sauce was not honey. The only think that would suggest honey was the slightly golden color. It actually tasted more like the sweet & sour sauce very watered down. It was very thin and watery. The Mongolian beef was grey and chewy, loaded with hardly cooked green peppers in slices that were way too big. The sauce was a bit spicy and did not taste good - a brown gravy with an off flavor. The general Tso's tofu had such a weird flavor. The sauce was not at all spicy nor did it taste like general Tso's sauce. It actually turned my stomach. Sweet but in a rancid kind of way. The tofu was also very spongey - but that may just be the way they prefer to prepare it. I do not think they pressed it at all. I prefer my tofu pressed and quickly fried before tossed in sauce. However I do not mind it when it is a bit spongey if the sauce is good. The pieces of pepper that were in the dish were old, hard and flavorless. Just made for extra time picking them out of your mouth/food. Because we ordered so much food we got a free item. We chose the general Tso's chicken. We like general Tso's and knew it wouldn't go to waste tomorrow. The chicken Tso sauce had a completely different flavor than the tofu. This one was not as rancid. It was a little bit off but I would consider this edible. The sauce was not spicy in the least. It was just sweet like the sweet and sour sauce should be. The pieces of pepper that were in the dish were old, hard and flavorless. Just made for extra time picking them out of your mouth/food. We didn't even try to eat the rice. Everything went in the garbage. I hardly leave reviews but I needed to warn anyone else considering this place. Be prepared for disappointment. If you take a chance hopefully it won't be as bad as what we experienced. We're from up north and could always find one Chinese food place that we like. Since moving to Clearwater it has become impossible. The places that have food we enjoy one time, the next time we order the food will be terrible. So every time we go to a different place. Some times it is good some times it is bad and today it was absolutely horrible. I do hope it was just a fluke. We ordered around 330 in the afternoon on a Friday the food should have been fresh. The delivery driver was very nice!

There are FIVE other Chinese take out restaurants with the exact same menu within a mile of this place. Do yourself a favor and go to one of those instead. Let's play a game: If "beef chow mein" is beef and noodles, and "chicken chow mein" is chicken and noodles, what is "vegetable chow mein"? If you answered "just a take out box of soggy broccoli and NO NOODLES", then you'd be absolutely correct according to China 1. If you disagree and dare to ask them to correct their mistake of leaving the CHOW MEIN out of the "vegetable CHOW MEIN", they'll happily lecture you about how "chow mein doesn't always come in chow mein" (they seriously actually said this), and charge you an additional $3 to add noodles to your order of noodles with no noodles. For real, just drive 2 minutes to another place.

I read some of the reviews, but decided to order take out because it was the closest to the hotel that was open on a Sunday. The place itself didn't look appealing for dine in but the food was good. The beef and broccoli was on point, meat was very tender, broccoli was fresh and crunchy and had a good amount of sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was still piping hot when I got back to the hotel and the sauce was not runny. The shrimp with snow peas was saltier than I prefer it to be, but otherwise my family enjoyed the meal.

I am over this place I have tried to continue ordering with them to help the local vendors survive. So I order from them at least once every two weeks or more. It's not often I'm disappointed but lately there is a young lady that's working there that is very disappointing, very rude, and apparently doesn't know the laws of the United States of America you cannot advertise a free item with a purchase and then not deliver it or at least call to find out what they would like. It is bad practice it is called false advertisement. I no longer support this local vendor, and will be making complaints on false advertising.
