Chicken King

I have passed by Chicken King many times and always wanted to stop in.Today I took my Mother and we loved it.The place was clean and the staff were great.We liked the food though we did not try the Fried Chicken this visit.Mom already has a plan to take Dad, and I'm going back in a few days myself.

We visit Hernando each winter and stop for breakfast at Chicken King a couple of times. The place is clean, the service is great, and the breakfast is very good at a reasonable price. It appears to be a local hangout as most people seem to know each other. i would highly recommend.

After seeing this place on our meandering through Florida, we decided to finally give it a try. Hubs ordered four pieces of fried chicken with baked beans and macaroni and cheese. I ordered the turkey with mashed potatoes and fried squash. Every thing was good except for the macaroni and cheese. It had a odd taste and it got left on the plate. For dessert we had the mud pie which was a delicious frozen pie with Oreo pie crust. A nice hometown place for country cooking

My fried chicken (which USED to be excellent here) was over cooked and too hard to cut. Inedible thigh. The wait staff was very good, kind and courteous. The new decor is ok..it's good for the type of place it is. The prices are very good But with my thighs SO overcooked...I won't be back.

Homemade gravy is worth the drive! No one makes their own gravy anymore. All thw food and staff are great.

We've been frequenting this place for about 10 years. It's a bit worn on the outside, but don't let that fool you. It's changed hands a couple times since we've been coming, this stewardship is probably the best. The food is down home cooking. The chicken is amazing and the sides are lovely. Service is very good. It's not a large dining area, and it is quite popular, busy times it can fill up quickly. Breakfast is good as well. I recently had a Chicken Fried Chicken smothered with brown gravy, whipped potatoes and southern style green beans. It's one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was like crawling back in my Mama's arms it was so comforting. I highly recommend.

The food is awesome with reasonable prices. Plus the service is the best. Ask for Moe or Courtney They have specials every day. Awesome restaurant They just remodeled the entire restaurant. Looks awesome

This place is fantastic. The portions are big and the prices are great. Service outstanding and the food is excellent. Our go to restaurant from now on. Far superior to Outback. Down under sucks compared to Chicken King. I had fried green tomatoes and a Rueben. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich. Portions are so big we needed a doggie bag. My new love!!!!!
