First and only visit (so far)...Shared a few things with some Yelp friends and really finding myself experiencing new stuff...I really enjoyed my Crossbridge soup... all but the tofu. I had mine with the fish. I even did the quail egg. Something that is not normally a part of my food intake. It was all very tasty, from those who are more familiar, apparently it's quite authentic and everyone ejoyed their meals too. Some stuff was wayyyy too spicy for me.... and I used to love lots of spice - like makes you sweat kind of spice... and I just can't do it anymore. HAHABut we shared some apps like the cucumber salad, crab rangoon and soup dumplings...I will definitely be back. I suggest going in a group to share stuff like we did too!

Wow... Sichuan Peppercorn Soup Broth! A flavor profile I love, as a soup... and it was delicious! I ordered the Peppercorn soup with Fatty Beef, and it was so good. I would order it again and again.I was with a fun group of yelpers (thanks for setting it up, Dave!) and we all had a great time. Spice levels sort of depend on what soup you order. The basic broth is mild, and yummy according to Yelper Alicia (although she was adding chili oil which is on the table, to it... to add a little more heat.)! She ordered the Fish soup... which had Red Grouper in it. She was happy.Tina ordered the SPICY soup broth (the hottest level) and seemed to enjoy that also. The Peppercorn soup that the rest of us had, is about a medium heat level (although that is subjective to what you are used to.) But it all was delicious... and the service was excellent too!We did order some apps... crushed cucumber salad, crab rangoon and of course, the soup dumplings. They were all good too. Highly recommended!

It is about 3.5 stars. This restaurant serve special cross bridge noodles. Cross bridge noodle is Yunnan culture with over 100 year history. The story is a wife delivery food to her husband who study in the island by crossing a bridge. She found out this method to keep the warm tasty food. Then this method is widely use for the rice noodles. I got the classic original flavor broth beef offal and add cost for additional seafood proteins. Seem like additional cost is not worth the money. Because they put the seafood and beef offal in same serving box. Seem like additional cost did not show additional quantity for food. I said that is because I saw the other dish we have only the beef offal have the same quantity. The best way to present it is serve the seafood in separate dish. The offal is very chewy. It is a bit hard to chew. Soup base is good. The add on is good too due to many ingredients. The other cross bridge noodles place I have visit have option for noodle shape. They come in different thickness rice noodles. I think they can learn from that. Overall is good In service. This tradition serving is just like little personal hot pot. Please be careful for not touch the hot section of the bowl.

Tampa Bay FINALLY has a Yunnan style "crossing bridge rice noodle" shop by USF, next door to Tsaocaa. That is really all the information you need to know of you are interested in learning more about Chinese cuisine. In the meantime, the appetizers are inexpensive and plentiful. I tried both the cold cucumbers to balance the heat of the noodles. And, their Xiao Long Bao, which were tasty with a strong crab flavor, but not made in house. The broth here comes underseasoned for a healthier flavor. There is salt and house chili oil on the table to bring the seasoning up to what you are probability used to.This is not a hotpot restaurant. There are about 20 or more broth combinations to choose from. My favorite at any Yunnan soup house is Peppercorn with fatty beef. They have something for everyone, including fried rice and lomein.

Came here with my friend & initially I didn't know what to expect. With it being open right before 11 am, (their opening time) we came in and no one was in sight. They were in the back, & the door made a sound to let them know we were there.Eventually a male came to assist us and take our order. I ordered the tomato seafood rice noodle soup. This comes with a container similar to a bento box where all of the ingredients are. To my surprise, the person who took our order, placed all of the ingredients in the soup for us. That was nice simple service I did not expect. My tomato seafood soup was alright. I kept saying it reminded me of spaghetti or watery tomato soup.I'm glad I tried this experience and to me it's like a hot pot, but bento box style. From reading about this type of noodle style - Chinese Crossing the Bridge Noodles, this is traditional Yunnan Chinese style. And everything included in the soup is also traditional, so that is pretty cool.I'm glad I did try this experience. I don't think it is for me. But there is a good number of broth options for many taste preference, so perhaps this style may be something you love.Come here if you are feeling soupy! They do have apps, rice, & noodle options, but the soup is what their thing is. Ambiance is simplistic, & not much decor except the main wall decor, & tables and chairs.

It was a cool experience! I've never had Yunnan Crossing the Bridge rice noodle soup until now. It was quite enjoyable. We had a little bit of a slow start. We arrived at 11:00 am (opening time) and pretty much picked our own table. No one was at the counter to greet us. Most likely because they were busy getting ready for the lunch service. It gave us time to look over the menu. The menu wasn't too terribly complicated. There are 5 basic broth flavors. The non-spicy options are original, tomato, and pickled pepper broth. The spicy options are numbing Sichuan peppercorn and spicy broth. I originally wanted to try the Sichuan peppercorn, but I wasn't sure what numbing meant at the time. Now I know that it refers to the tingling sensation you get with that particular spice. I would love to try a sample of it one day. Instead, I played it safe by getting the pickled pepper broth. It turned out to be a great choice along with the fatty beef and accompaniments.Everything was presented beautifully. You get your tray, rice noodles, and boiling hot broth delivered to your table. The host added the quail egg first, then the meat and veggies. He did that so well. I would have probably splashed the broth all over myself. It doesn't take long for it to cook and blend together. The fatty beef was very good. I really liked that quail egg. I've had it at other restaurants and didn't like it. This one tasted great! The broth wasn't salty, and the pickled pepper broth (I think a chicken base) was actually quite good. I could taste the pickled pepper. It was a fresh taste. Yes, very simple but also very satisfying. I'd definitely get the same rice noodle soup again. It had tofu skin, green scallions, wood ear mushrooms, and all kinds of interesting flavors. I'm also thankful for the other Yelp reviews and tips. I didn't add the lettuce (to keep it from tasting like romaine). The choice of fatty beef and the selection of the pickled pepper broth worked out in my favor. It definitely suited my taste buds.I will definitely go back to try the Sichuan peppercorn broth. I just need to be in the mood for spicy.

Went with some friends for lunch. We weren't expecting much and they had just opened so there was still some construction being done inside. We were the only ones there and I think our waitress wasn't super fluent in English. But she tried her best to explain everything and it was a super unique experience, a but like hotpot but just as one dish. She also basically cooked it for us right on the table. The broth was super flavorful and it was a fun experience!
