Charm City - Lake Wales

This is one of my absolute favorites! Lobster bisque is amazing very craveable!!!! Shrimp tacos are amazing!!!! Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp. Very yummy!!!!! And then there's a crabcakes and crabby fries those are a few of my favorites!!!!!!Service is wonderful everybody is so kind and cheerful!!!Atmosphere is very cheerful! With an amazing view!I very highly recommend Charm City!!!!!

They are never open at 11 am as the website says. They usually open at 2 pm and are closed at 8 pm if you are lucky. Was there on a Friday night and they closed the bar at 7 pm because the bartender didn't have a babysitter. The food is good but differently not worth what they charge. If you go on a night when they have live music it is so loud you might want to get your food to go. So if you are thinking of going here you might call to make sure they are going to be open.

Let me start off with the positive. The crab ball appetizer was good and the crab sandwich too. So why 2 stars? There was something wrong with the grouper, really wrong. I eat a lot of grouper, I like that it's a firm white meaty fish with a mild taste. This wasn't that. The color was pinkish grey. At first I thought maybe I'd been given the wrong kind of fish or a different cut I'd never seen before . But when I ate it the taste was off, it had a strong taste that was unpleasant. I truly don't know if it had gone bad, but my stomach began rolling within about 5 minutes of eating that one small fork of fish which makes me think it had gone bad. The waitress came back for the first time at the end of the meal to ask if we wanted boxes. As we were the only customers, the lack of check backs I'll put down to how young she was. I said no thank you and they should check the fish as there was something off. Her response was oh. No manager, no conversation, no apology and it was left on the bill. If I don't like something I still expect to pay. If I don't want to eat it I still expect to pay. In fact when I gave a negative review to another restaurant recently the owner offered to refund my meal and I did not accept the offer. But if I'm brought food that has something wrong with it, and then am still charged for it, well that adds insult to injury, so no matter how good the crab was, this place is a never return for us. Maybe it's because the owner was on vacation, but there should still be a protocol in place for situations like this. 90 minutes later as I write this my stomach is still upset.

Stopped into Lake Ashton to check out the new restaurant in the community. Excellent! The owner Nick has done a great job. We had the lobster bisque an brisket quesadillas. There is a weekend brunch and I want to go back for shrimp and grits as well as grouper. Prices are very reasonable. There is also a full bar there.

For those of you that the restaurant in Bartow is to far, please remember they have a second location in Lake Wales at the Lake Ashton community center. Delicious, I ate the shrimp tacos this evening. They also have many other fun and delicious items so give them a try. It's a great place.

Great food at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere with a view of the lake across the swimming pool. Pleasant, friendly and helpful staff.

Good service and convenient location. Has outdoor seating overlooking the pool and lake.

Went there tonight, was rolls to sit wherever. We sat at a table and waited, 35 min later we still waited. We left. So unorganized, lack of management at this place. No contact from an any staff. No recognition that we were even there. I will not be returning

We had an awesome meal!! Chimichanga was delicious. Ask for Mike A. He made our dinner a pleasurable dining experience. And very affordable!!

What a total disappointment! I read reviews, so I expected a great lunch. First, my friend, who is a vegetarian, wanted to order 2 veggie tacos & was told they couldn't make that for her. But, they could make her a veggie quesadilla! Does that make sense? I ordered the pulled pork & asked that it be juicy with a toasted bun. The bun top was burned in the center with little sauce on the dry pork. The chips were so greasy that they were inedible. Sad that the coleslaw was the best part of my meal. My other friend was the only 1 with a good meal She had the lobster bisque which she enjoyed. I could never recommend this restaurant.
