Fell in love with Catrina's!! Such a homey, authentic Mexican restaurant. My boyfriend and his family are avid fans of Catrina's but this was my first time trying it out. First, I'm obsessed with their margaritas in a bag. Delicious, efficient and hilarious. Guac is stunning. Birria tacos for dinner are the stars of the show. I had a couple of tostados that also hit the spot. Above all else, Tisbeth the owner knows how to make you feel welcomed and ensure you leave well fed! Definitely come here for the best authentic Mexican food in Tampa.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the region. Taco Tuesday promotion is outstanding. Tisbeth is an amazing person, talented artist and chef. Her special creations have been off the charts good. Her tequila dinners...just wow. T-1 tequilas are my new favorites for Blanco, Reposado, Ańejo en especially the Tears of Llorona extra ańejo.

I visited Cartinas Tacos and Tequila on a Wednesday night with my husband and niece. They were having drag queen bingo and I was intrigued!We got there about 30 minutes before bingo started to order our food and drinks early. I ordered two tostadas and they were fantastic! I could not finish both so I may go for one next time but they are so good you will want two! The bingo ended up being in Spanish which added to the fun! I was like a Spanish lesson with a drag queen with food, beer and prizes! Yes! Sign me up!The restaurant is a bit small though so if they get busy on bingo night, you will definitely have to call in advance for a table. I really enjoyed the entire experience, the food, the owner, the bingo and prizes! I will definitely return to try another bingo night. They also have a taco Tuesday I believe so want to check that out as well.

Place is phenomenal!! Tisbeth - the owner / cook is extremely sweet- and an even better cook. We had the Quesabirria and oh my lord. Best one I have ever had. I also bought the house hot sauce that she makes. Got her number to order more and more shipped to my house. Love this spot

We came for cinco de Mayo, it was packed. They had frozen margaritas in a bag which was actually really good. We got guacamole and it was okay. I got carnitas and al pastor tacos and it was okay. They were on the expensive side for small tacos. I would try it again to see if quality is better on a non busy say. I came from San Diego so it's hard not to expect the best.

This place is independently Owned by Woman Tisbeth Although they claim to be in South Tampa, they are just north of 275 on Howard. I had a ly recommend you try this place out. Parking is in the rear but the food is delicious and the margaritas are very well-made. Great service. They plan to put a dance floor with a DJ and I plan on bringing all my friends from South Tampa to try Latin music. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants out there, but I would ask you give this place a try.

The margarita was good but overpriced. The tacos were subpar. The carnitas was greasy at best, the beef taco wasn't seasoned. And I was accosted by a homeless man on the way in. The location is super small and service was meh. I felt as if I was bothering them. All in all I wont be back.Update: even the response to this review is in poor taste. This was literally THE WORST CARNITAS I'VE EVER HAD. Greasy and lack of seasoning. Further, it's my prerogative to post in yelp as this a site for reviews. Bless your heart... and same with your day.

Ordered tap water with our meal. Was informed that the building was old and the water was not good. She actually said it was yellow. Have concerns about the food and dishes that require said water. Is that a health code issue? Perhaps that is just a reason to have you buy water? Also, no soap or towels in the bathroom. Food was very good and would go back if they were to fix their problems.

came in on taco tuesday 10/1/24 around 8pm and I already was anticipating on stopping in the week prior, but my first visit in wasn't great and probably would be the last. First things first we walked in and no one greeted us and all the tables were dirty and the bar was occupied but not full so we just decided to ask if we could just sit down anywhere the guy behind the bar had stated that he was working by himself which was ok and understandable until things took a different turn now there Was 7 ppl in the restaurant 6 of which including myself had just walked in but it took forever for our table to be clean it took forever for order to be taken my boyfriend asked for a hibiscus drink which they didn't have anymore and wasnt offered an alternative or something similar, the server sat on the table next of us to take a group of ppl who were sitting a few tables down order, we order salsa and chips with our food order and never got it the table next to us got the chips and salsa before us and then he asked us if we order chips and salsa with the order ticket in his hands 10 mins after he couldn't read his hand writing the chips were stall also and we order 4 beef tacos from the taco Tuesday deal for $2.50 each but when we got our food which also took forever the tortillas fell apart and was just very distasteful and messy we never got checked up on once we had our food and I had to yell across the restaurant to get the guys attention for our bill as we were already ready to go home and the guy behind the bar seemed to be distracted by the one gentleman that was sitting at the bar. this was just a horrible experience and very upsetting out of all the taco places we could've went to for taco Tuesday and we chose this one it was just very disappointing hope this place does better with their future guest!
