Not going to lie, I was a little hesitant to go here based on reviews but I decided to take a chance and I am honestly glad I did. My husband and I were driving up the coast that day and decided to stop here for lunch. The inside of the restaurant is really beautiful and has tons of windows overlooking the water. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. It was a nice day so we chose to sit out on the patio. Our waitresses was so nice and was quick to get us our drinks and made sure our glasses were always full. She had several suggestions for food and I picked the Shrimp Pesto. The serving size was huge and was very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend stopping here if you happen to be in the area!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and distinctive white decor with some nautical themes, including some very large "stuffed" fish worth checking out as you get to your table.Decent range of menu items. I'd recommend asking which fish dishes are fresh, as some are frozen. I'm sure even the frozen ones will taste fine, but I prefer trying what's been caught and brought in as recently as possible, unless it's not a fish I'd order. Our server Liza was super: experienced, snappy and great banter. She elevated our experience. My grouper fish tacos were delicious. Not an enormous meal, but if you share an appetizer or plan on one of their many desserts, it's just right. My brother liked the salmon he ordered. The other entrees our table ordered had a lot of sauces that competed with the fish. Wasn't as well received. Definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff including the bussers who also are runners. Very accommodating.

We were looking for a light but exciting meal the day before Thanksgiving 2024. Catches Waterfront Grille covered the exciting portion 100%. First, we got really lucky sitting at one of Liza's tables. She was always available but never hovering or intrusive. My wife and I ordered Clam chowder and 1/2 doz lightly steamed oysters to start. The chowder was hot, creamy and delicious. Oysters, though somewhat small were prepared properly and very flavorful. Next up was a Scampi Trio Pasta dish. Plenty of mussels, adequate number of shrimp but kinda scarce amount of scallops w/bow tie pasta. It was really tasty but ratios seemed a bit skewed. Our other "entree" was Ahi Tuna. Seared correctly and served at right temp. My only complaint ( very slight ) is the over abundance of sesame seed. This seems to be a regional issue on FL's Gulf Coast. It's pretty but detracts from the food. My wife insisted on a slice of Key Lime Pie. We both thought it was very good but not outstanding. We will be back to try more menu choices and will ask to be served by Liza again. I recommend you try Catches Waterfront Grille in Port Richey, FL

Beautiful, upscale restaurant with amazing views. Food is luck of the draw. You never know. Used to go there for Easter dinner buffet for years. Last time they event was sold out. Which means they knew when they were coming and how many to take care of. So, how did they run out of ham?

I dont think id had eaten at Catches in overtime a decade, so the hubby and I stopped in one late afternoon. The place is bright and airy, kind of a key west vibe, but unfortunately the service is slow. I know they're probably understaffed. So I'm simply mentioning it.The food was good, nothing special. But the view is nice.

Beautiful restaurant on the water. The service was fantastic. We ordered the grouper with lobster bisque sauce and stuffed flounder. Both meals were perfectly cooked and tasted excellent.

The food was good except the rice was under cooked both times they brought it out. The drinks were watered down. We were sat at a very large booth and we only had 4 in our group which was fine but the waiter kept putting everything he brought out at the end of the table we weren't sitting at. Overall I was disappointed, and will not return. There are plenty of similar places in the area with a better overall experience.

Been here multiple times, but this time was the best I have had. My husband had the dried shrimp dinner and I had the stuff flounder. Both meals were excellent. My husband's exact words is "that is the best fried shrimp I have had". The server was extremely nice as well and the tables are still decently spread apart for those who do not want to sit on top of each other and share the many coughing germs. We had a beautiful table inside but off the water so also a great view. We made reservations. They did not seem extremely busy when we got there but that does not mean they are not busy later in the evening. We will be back.
