Carlo's Sandwich Shop

Stopped in because this place is said to be one of the best sandwich shops in the area. Very mom and pop shop. Order at the counter, huge menu for a smaller place and either get it to go or eat in. We had the big cuban and it was enough for both of us. Bread was nice however the sandwich should of had more meat on it. It was a little scarce. Service was friendly and quick. Private parking lot with plenty of space. Worth a stop.

I have been eating here since the 70's as a little girl. I live out of state, but I can call and order from this family business anytime. Today they prepared 25 stuffed potatoes and 20 deviled crabs for me to take home to Mississippi and serve my Native Floridian family.

Carlos and his wife are ABSOLUTE gems!I am all about supporting local, family-owned business' and this is one of my favorites. I've gone here for many years now and I honestly can't believe I have yet to learn his wife's name yet. Hahaha! I say that, because she is an absolute doll! Every single time I come in, I am greeted with a welcoming smile and we always exchange pleasantries. Building relationships with your customers, I feel, is an extremely important factor to keep them coming back. This family does just that. She always asks me how I and my family are doing and I absolutely adore that about her! And oh man, can that woman whip up a mean cup of cafe con leche! One of the single-most delectable cups of cafe con leche I've had in the Tampa area. If you're looking for small bites, the papa rellenas (stuffed potatoes) is my jam! They will even open it up for you and add hot sauce if you'd like - and me likey. The beef empanadas are pretty good, too. I like my empanadas with cheese, personally, which these do not have, but I certainly do enjoy them from time to time. Guava and cheese turnovers are definitely an option, as well. Carlos' is definitely more known for their sandwiches - obviously, hence the name, but their breakfast sandwiches are truly the best way to start your day. Packed full of fluffy egg, yellow American cheese and your choice meat, on toasted and pressed cuban bread. If you ever find yourself riding down Columbus Dr, before you hit 50th St, stop in. Come in, sit down and enjoy a sandwich or even a quick bite to eat for the road. I promise you'll be back.

I've been going here off and on for years and have always been happy with the Cuban sandwiches and deviled crabs, but yesterday I stopped in and changed it up and got a roast pork sandwich and it was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. If it wasn't for the kids being home for spring break I would go back again today.

Great service! I love this place. My office is right up the road and I won't admit to how often I stop for a bacon, egg and cheese on Cuban bread and a cafe con leche... If you like spicy, try the soup! It's delicious!

Personally, for the quality. It's overpriced. The drinks are overpriced. I can get more for my bang from Wawa, 30 seconds further down the road.

I have lived in Tampa Bay all of my life, there are some great Cuban Sandwich Shops all over town and Carlos Sandwich is one of them. It's a legit Cuban Sandwich. Pressed, all the way. Great if you are on the East Side of Town. $12 for a large Cuban but a Small is enough for most people and saves a few bucks.

Cuban is ok. Overpriced & forced to tip. Workers are nice though. .................................................................
