Cappy's Pizza

One of my very favorite thin crust pizzas. I will put this in my rotation when visiting Tampa.

We had been looking for a Chicago style pizza in Tampa for a while now. Many pizzerias claim to be similar and Chicago style pizza, but they are not. I can happily say that Cappys is extremely close and is delicious! Located in a strip mall along with a restaurant bar and Mexican restaurant, Cappies is amazing. It may say that it's also Greek food, but I didn't see any Greek food on the menu. It is definitely a family run business. Our server has worked there since the pizzeria opened and is a friend of the family. She did an amazing job serving us, providing information on the menu and just overall, such a great personality. We also met another woman who was the owner. I can't remember their names, but both were very customer service friendly.We made the mistake by getting the pizza bread appetizer. My boyfriend's choice. And honestly, that could've filled us up just with that. We did get the deep dish and, split our toppings in half pepperoni and sausage and mushroom. The crust was nice and thick without being crispy. The marinara sauce which is homemade was again amazing and I asked for extra so I could dip my pizza crust in it!The inside of the restaurant looks like a Chicago style pizzeria. The tables have the red and white checkered plastic tablecloths. Dark wood for the booth and chairs.Highly recommend!

Worse deep dish pizza ever. I asked for a refund and they told me to go to papa John's and that's exactly what I did. I think everyone who thinks about going to Cappys should head to the papa John's on Bruce B Downs. They also wouldn't let me speak to a manager saying there too busy making pizzas. They put one on and started yelling.

If you haven't had a Chicago Deep Dish pizza before, you are not a true pizza fan! Stuffed pizza with all of your favorite sides, inside out with the cheese in the middle and sauce on top. The best ones you eat with a fork and knife, and the crust is thick and flaky enough to pick up like a breadstick on its own! The only lack would be the presentation but it makes up in quality and portion. Cappy's does well, being outside of Chicago. Fresh ingredients, perfect size and worth a try!

I don't go as much now that I'm living out of state, but we make it at least one time each trip. My folks still go every Saturday. Cappy's special, sausage, cheese, and salads are always great. The staff are always fun to talk to. I even love the decor.

For Friday afternoon, we were feeling and instead of a full food we were looking for a place to have quick food.So, I searched near me and saw Cappy's Pizza which was near our place. So, I checked out the menu of Cappy's Pizza.From the menu I decided to order Vegetarian Pizza with mushrooms through a call.The pizza was ready in 15 minutes and I went to Cappy's Pizza to pick-up my order.When I entered the restaurant, I was surprised to see amazing ambiance of the restaurant and it was beautifully decorated giving the look for a place to have pizza and beer.I also saw that they offer different drinks along with different beers. From beer I selected Funky Buddha Florida Wheat Beer.I picked-up my order along with the beer.The veggie pizza was hot and delicious and the crust was also amazing.Pizza with beer made my Friday evening.

I don't want to trash themThe food is not bad..... and the Chicago pizza.... Well it is decent, but not Chicago pizza . We will go back, but they need to try harder and work on the crustAnd skip to Caesar salad Again not real Caesar saladMy wife liked the Greek salad

The menu is kind of limited here, but it doesn't matter because "The Cappy" (New York style) is so good!! Sausage, Ham, Pepperoni, Green Pepper, Onion, Mushroom, and maybe some kind of addictive chemical! Lol jk. But seriously, this will keep you going back for more. I've tried the Chicago deep dish, and it's ok, I think that style is not my thing. But if you like great pizza, you owe it to yourself to check out this gem in Mew Tampa!!

EXTREMELY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ordered a deep dish pizza and it was watered down and just not appetizing or appealing at all. When i called just to make a complaint they started throwing rude remarks and comments at me and when i asked for a manager he came onto the phone and started yelling at me and being extremely rude. Your better off going to a papa johns, dominos, or other chain pizza restaurant. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

SLOPPY MESS OF A PIZZA!!! Worst deep dish pizza I have ever picked up!! When we opened the box the sauce was so watery that it sloshed to one side of the pizza and we brought it back on a even car seat and a table before we opened it up so it came out of the restaurant like that! The watery sauce soaked the breading so it was literally folding over instead of being hard and crunchy like a deep dish should be!! We had to use the fork in the picture to make the sauce even all over. It was absolutely horrible and it tasted poorly made like they tried to make the sauce as quickly and cheaply as possible. Do yourself a favor and don't come here ever again!!! I have NEVER had such horrible pizza!UPDATE: Called management to get a refund and hopefully come to an understanding because they took our money and gave us a horrible product that we had to throw away due to how inedible it is. Not only were they extremely defensive and rude, they also blocked my original number so that I couldn't contact them. They refused to give me a refund stating that I "blasted them" on social media and that they know their pizza and this was never an issue before. The many 1 star reviews would prove otherwise. So not only do they have horrendus pizza, their management is completely unqualified to be in their position. I have never had such HORRIBLE customer service as well as horrible deep dish pizza.If you want them to steal your money and disregard your complaints while serving you pizza that they threw together as quickly as possible this is the place for you.
