"DELICIOUS TACOS! Friendly staff! Highly recommend for authentic Mexican! Ingredients are always fresh and their salsas are amazing! My family and I love stopping by for a quick lunch or dinner !"
"$50 fir lunch with 1 beer was kinda high for food that was ok but nothing special. My wife ordered a lunch special that was priced a $1 lower on the menu. Food was not seasoned very much, beans & rice standard fare. It was an ok lunch but nothing special enough for me to rush back. However, The service was very good, but not very speedy."

"We discovered HOTT MESS while I (my sidekick Law just kept saying yum or not for me as I did due diligence for our wknd in Tampa). We were going for the Worlds Largest Food Truck Festival. I knew with 208 trucks and so many choices I wanted to try all the trucks that truly offered something that had a UNIQUE TWIST. So I looked for every truck on FB or the Web/Yelp/UP, many nights of food porn let me tell you.I had my GREEN LIGHT list and my LOOK AT list. Finding HOTT MESS on FB gave me chance to see some of their food as well as a sample of their menu. They were MY first truck to visit. They had many wonderful choices that day, but I ordered the Tots Ziki...HOT, CRISP tots topped with all the WONDERFUL makings of a GYRO. Not only was it a good looking dish, it was one of the best uses of tator tots that we have ever had.But its not just the food that will draw you in, its the GREAT ENERGY that the crew has;Friendly and Creative. A combo that will bring us back to try many more options of their ability to take the simple and jack it up to be a HOTT MESS of YUM. We are proud to be HOTT MESS GROUPIEs :-)"
"We stopped in after we got back home post hurricane Milton. We were happy to see that Salty Soul was up and running no worse for ware. We sat outside like we always do al a two-top. We were in the mood for fish tacos so I ordered one blackened fish and one shrimp. My wife ordered one grilled fish. Both came with a generous portion of chips and salsa. We also ordered the nacho cheese sauce to dip the chips. The food was great, the beer was cold and the service was friendly and attentive. We love this place."
"Best authentic tacos around! Recently found this place within the last couple months. Employees are very kind. Portions are perfect! Everything I've tried so far is delicious! Reasonably priced. Fast service. They have a covered awning to eat under, or you can get it to go! If you do eat there, it's usually breezy on that corner so make sure you keep your plate and napkins weighed down or they will fly away"
"They are newer so not crazy busy yet. It's a Michelin bib gourmand restaurant and it's a sister company to Rocca, a Michelin one star so you know the quality is there! We opted to sit at the 'bar' which actually was the kitchen counter...but I preferred this! It was fun to watch behind the scenes. Our server was great, I saw her multi-tasking too. All the staff seemed to be on top of it. Coco margarita- delicious. Tastes like a pina colada non-frozen! So good I got it twice. They have an alcohol free guava horchata that sounds yummy I wanna try next time. Guacamole- standard but atleast no one ingredient was too much or too little. The chips were the star though- huge tostadas which are homemade and delicious.Alitas- wings but 6/10, the sauce was too sweet.Carne asada taco- 9/10. This was both our fav taco, everything was perfect. Carnitas taco- 9/10. The soft pork and the crunch of the chicharron was a great combo..and the melted cheese yum. Brisket taco- 5/10. The nuts made it a little sweeter and not what I was expecting.Flan- 8/10. My husband LOVED this flan like it's the best he had. It's your normal flan with an orange zest flavor. It was good but the orange might throw you off. Return? Yes definitely for drinks and a light mealRecommend? Yes, authentic tasting tacos in a modern feel"
"My wife and I brought our sons to Juan's on a Saturday right after they opened, and my first impressions were, "Wow, it's immaculate in here." We were the day's first customers and were quickly greeted by the folks behind the counter. The menu is simple, so it didn't take long to figure out what we wanted. I ordered a chicken burrito, and my wife ordered a burrito bowl with steak and a drink and chips for each of us.The drink area was also spotless and well-organized. We got our drinks, and by the time we returned to the counter, our food was ready. It's easy to compare Juan's with Moes and Chipotle because those are the two "big guys" that compete with Juan's. However, I won't do that because there's no comparison. The food was better, fresher, and had more significant portions than the other guys. Additionally, it was cheaper, the service was better, and the store was spotless. Even the bathrooms were well taken care of.I don't really have any complaints about Juans, but I wish they gave you more chips or allowed you to return and get more. I would also like to see a few more salsa options, but all that is mostly a personal preference. So anyway, I'm sorry Moes, but you're dead to me. At least the Moes in Oldsmar. While delicious, the store is always dirty, but that's another review."
"Tacos El Chapo is located inside of a Shell gas station. But don't let that fool you, the food is incredible. It's like they took a food truck concept, and parked it inside of the convenience store! Orders are made fresh, and the flavors were robust. The kitchen area is small, but kept extremely clean. The staff was very pleasant, and the cooks diligently created each item with care. I ordered a pork burrito, which I would definitely order again. It was a very large burrito, big enough to split with a friend. The pork was tender and flavorful. The burrito was stuffed with the best rice I have had in a long time. So much flavor! There was a good balance of pork, rice, beans, lettuce, and sour cream in the burrito. The flour tortilla was perfect, slight crunch, while still soft inside. I even had a churro for desert (crisp outside, soft inside, all delicious)"
"This is about 3.5 stars for restaurant but 4 stars for the meat market. The Mexican restaurant and grocery concept has been use in south Tampa. But for this area is the first. The reason they are 3.5 stars is their taco is not the cheapest. Food truck may be cheaper than them. In the same time, their overhead is higher too. I got the tripe soup, carnitas, pastor, lengua, and barbacoa tacos. The taco come with meat and tortilla. One positive thing is they bring the onion and cilantro for you to add your own. They also supply the lime to squeeze in. The green and red sauce is provided. I like their tripe soup because they are cook to soft. The meat choices is marinated and good for you to buy home and cook yourself. This is something new. They have the churrasco season with the spice. The price is great per pound since they did the work for you and ready to cook."
"Sooooooo much food!!! I ordered (put those judgments away) a chicken taco, beef taco, Chinese donuts and chicken and broccoli and egg drop soup. Loved everything. The tacos are delicious. They're only $1.50 then they give you two shells for one taco, so I just made them into two tacos. The guy that took our order was really friendly too. I have too many leftovers!"
"I'm not going to lie I was shocked at how good the tacos were from El Senor De Los. Based off pictures from previous reviews I assumed it wasn't authentic, but the salsa they give you on the side says otherwise. The first time I ordered from here I tried the steak tacos but the shrimp are just as fire. The grilled onions and peppers they give you on the side are kind of sweet and give the tacos a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The churros were also really good and I loved the fact that they topped them with fresh strawberries."
"I miss you guys already! Loved the gal that waited on us, she was so sweet and patient and outgoing! We drove up on my friend's boat and it was only about $51 for six of us and we ordered a lot of food. The elote were bogo, and there was a special for tacos for buy 5, get two free. The chicken empanada was not like a typical empanada but it was delicious!!! And $10 fajitas! I will def be back, I'm a little in love."

The best tacos de tripa around!! What I love the best about this place is the pickled purple onion they serve, the jalapeño, and then grilled onions! They also gave a small cup of beans. If you want tacos, you need to stop here! Plus they're expanding on online delivery and online ordering.

The fried mac and cheese is out of this world! I've had something similar at the fair and it was hard and goopy. Hott Mess has perfected the fried mac and cheese! I sunk my fork in the meatball sized mass of crispy breading to reveal a creamy pocket of cheese among al dente pasta. Once the pouch was punctured, it was like eating mac and cheese out of a well seasoned, fluffy, bread bowl. There's a bit of spice in the macaroni and the breading seasoned in flavors that compliment the cheese perfectly. I also had the name-sake sandwich. It is a mess, in a good way! Remember the napkins. It was like a sloppy-joe with taco meat, or maybe a taco with a bun instead of tortilla....either way it was completely unique and blended a mixture of texture and flavors in a way I have never experienced. The truck is run by a Dad, Mom, and daughter and are super sweet and want to give you a good lunch where ever that may be for the day. They'll be one of the trucks serving Tampa General Hospital as their cafeteria is remolded over several months, check them out there. Great comfort food for medical staff and hospital visitors.

Absolutely LOVE this place!! Super chill vibe, extremely friendly staff and mostImportantly! Cold drinks and good food. My favorite are the smash burgers, I have tried other menu items that were also very tasty, but the Smash Burger calls to me! You won't go wrong popping in anytime of the day, however there is usually live music in the later afternoon- evenings.

Great place with fast service and tasty food. I like that it's open all day long and there's no need to reserve a table, a lot of meat options, less for pescatarians and even less for vegan but still a few dishes to choose from. Good drinks too.

First timer, everything was delicious. The ambiance was quite plain but sturdy. Service was very good. All the ingredients were fresh and station was very clean and tidy. I was really hoping for more of a mom and pop place with maybe some street tacos but the really seem to be going after more of like a moe's type commercial feel.

I wish I could rate this in sections. Firstly, we ordered over the phone and they were very quick and helpful. I'm glad we did call ahead too because the line inside was long!!! But I'm person the staff was so amazing and nice! 5 stars all the way. The portion of the food was huge! The prices were also pretty high for typical Mexican food, but thinking this would be a higher quality than your standard American Mexican food. And while the ingredients were very fresh, the food lacked much flavor. It wasn't bad just not meeting the price point. Like 3.5/5. It is in a gas station, so don't be confused when trying to find it. Funny enough it seemed like that's all anyone was going in there for.

"The tortillas were amazing, such intense corn flavor that literally overpowered the flavors of the meats. These have to be some of the best corn tortillas I've had, but seriously I had a difficult time tasting anything else. I got the al pastor and the asada, both simply topped with some onions and cilantro and lime on the side. I think they could serve a bit more meat on each taco. The hot sauce is really spicy but it's good. Each taco is $2 and they only take cash."
"Best tacos in Ruskin! The steak is flavorful and they give you a lot of meat unlike the other food trucks in the area. The green sauce is a bit spicy but super delicious. Corn Tacos are $2 with a variety of meat choices from steak, pulled pork, chicken etc..only con is they are not open on Taco Tuesday :) however they are open almost all other days."
"Been wanting to try this place for a while. There was a large party in front of us and the food still came out quickly. The buffalo chicken quesadilla, taquitos, and burritos were all delicious. Next time looking forward to trying the tamales!"
"We were craving steak chimichurri and realized that our favorite chimichurri place is not around anymore, but noticed this one having it on their menu. We are so glad we have them a try! They make a delicious churrasco with chimichurri! Their salad, rice and beans are tasty sides also! Will definitely order again! Ubereats delivered by Shaniqua"
"A friend of mine brought me here for my birthday, she said I had to try it, and since tacos are one of my favorite foods I was looking toward to it.I had the three taco combo...one each of the Carnitas, Al Pastor, and Barbacoa, and we shared an order of the Birria fries. I also got an order of three empanadas to go for my son. This place is very small, not at all fancy, you order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table shortly after. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. If it was closer to my house, I'd be a lot fatter!"
"I have had this place on my radar for over a year. Last night , my friend decided to host his birthday celebration here so I finally made it to Tacos El Primo. It is inside the Rainbow Mart on Westshore Blvd. therefore, there is no ambiance . They have 2-3 tables. Most of the business is take-out. They put up enough tables to accommodate our group last night of about 30. They were cranking out the food. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, salsa, guacamole, chips, queso, homemade fruit juices , etc. It was fantastic! This place is legit. Run don't walk! Insider tip, they get slammed at lunch. Hit them up before or after the rush. Also, I hear they opened up a second location on Henderson."
"Just stopped in for Taco Tuesday! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, redefining hospitality in this market! I thoroughly enjoyed the taco sampler that was 5 of the favorite tacos in street taco size. All were delicious, my personal favorite Beefed up Barbacoa, close second was Holy Cow.If you are looking for fresh food, funky flavors and family owned... this is your spot!"
"Garcia's Taco truck is open late and sells mainly tacos, with various meats, beef, chicken, pork, with cilantro, onions, and hot sauce. All tacos are all $1.50 each. Even though its a food truck they are a permanent pit stop for tacos. They have a large picnic area for those that want to eat there, but most seem to be to go orders. The food is cooked fresh to order, and comes with a large portion, and inside a warm soft tortilla. I wish they had more options, as I do not like onions, and would like tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce. The green hot sauce has kick to it and is hot, so use sparingly. The meat was cooked as it should be, tasted very good, and was a large portion. But was sort of plain tasting just being meat and sauce in the soft shell. The price is excellent, and the food tastes good. Give them a try and see what you think. For a small food truck, there were 3 people working the truck when I was there, and it was slow, as we were the only customers at that time."
"The barbacoa and carnitas burritos were amazing. And their hot sauce, yum! Best food truck we have had on the bay thus far! Highly recommend."
"Unlike other locations, this is a food truck with approx. 14 picnic tables and a large unpaved area or parking. It is easy to miss when going doing along 41/Nebraska. If you pass a red/green/gray Gas station, you've driven too far.You order , wait about 10 minutes, and when your beeper beeps, you get your food. There is a small cart that has napkins and plastic cutlery.I ordered 1 Carne Asada burrito ($12). It came with a small serving of tortilla chips. The burrito was warm after 15 minutes. I appreciate that the burrito was intact and even during eating. Many fall apart like wet tissue paper and are messy, but Chapo was solidly packed. And there was no rice unlike the big chains! The steak was well seasoned and there was a good amount of veggies/pico.4/5Cons:Closed Sunday fullyIt is fully exposed, so you have to brave the elements or get takeout.Overall: Pretty good. It gives me "Cali Tacos" vibes (Bearss ave in the 2010's)I'm eager to try their birria tacos next time."
"I love Rocky's tacos! Sooooo good. Very delicious and one of my top 5 taco spots in Tampa. Fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked tortillas, little fat on meats, and beautifully spiced sauces. The owners are super friendly and so attentive, if you are eating there. Husband and wife truck and the service they provide is nice. It's on the corner of McKay and hillsborough ave. So it's pretty loud just because you are next to the main road. There is limited seating for eating there. One table to be exact. However, eating in your car is the better option to avoid the flies lol. At $3.50 a taco, they are a good size and punch so much flavor! Torta's, Burritos, and quesadillas are also offered at around $11-$12. Great aguas, juices, are provided as well.I've been here once before and honestly, forgot how delicious these tacos were. On this trip I ordered 3 tacos; one pastor (pork), carnitas (pulled pork), and one campechano (steak and chorizo).Perfectly cooked, great flavors and all at a great price!"
"Takeaways:Excellent tacos, plenty of options, excellent prices. Kind of a boring building though, so wouldn't recommend it for a classic "Mexican theme" dinner. More of a grab-and-go style.Food:The food here is excellent! Plenty of variety and many many tacos! Definitely one of the most authentic street tacos in tampa! There are also bowls, tamales, sopas, and a sauce bar.Service:The service is nice and fast. You order at the counter, then 10mins later they bring your order to your table. Nothing to complain about here!Ambiance:The ambiance of the place is nothing special. Not exactly a "Hispanic" theme or anything, but that's not necessarily a bad thing! Just know if you're looking for a typical "Mexican themed restaurant," this isn't it. Just a normal building. It does feel kind of empty however, kind of just 4 walls and tables, but it's more of a in-and-out place anyway."
"Finally!!! A delicious taco spot in the heights area. On this visit, I ordered 2 tacos at $3.25 each. One al pastor (marinated pork and pineapple) and one carnitas (pulled pork). I also ordered a carnitas torta and a large hibiscus tea (Jamaica). Everything totaled about $20 and it was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while. Given that they are a small food truck, the food they do make out of the space, is really good. They were pretty fast in getting the food out. There are quite a bit taco trucks with better food than the sit down restaurants. This place is definitely up there are some of the best in the Tampa area."
"Found a new spot in a strip center in Dunedin. Fusion street eatery. It's close to downtown Dunedin. Parking is easy. But enough of location location location. We love anything birria and this spot popped up on FB because they spy on you. I'm glad they were spying on us this day because it lead us here. We ordered a few items and split everything to try, the birria fries, grilled cheese and a few tacos. everything was delicious. The dining area is small and it works. They have a selection of beers also. Will be here again !"
"The food here is absolutely amazing. The flavors are always on point no matter what. I got the oxtail fried rice and it was seasoned to perfection. They have two sauces in it that make it creamy and delicious. And there was very good chunks of meat. I also got oxtail empanadas which I will be thinking about until I get it again. It was so full of meat and they season it to perfection as well. They also have the best fried chicken and fries. They put a crack seasoning on top and they call it Crack fries. Soooo good!"
"Fantastic food and the prices are more than reasonable. Open Saturday and Sunday from noon until they sell out every bbq lover will find something delicious"
"My work girls and I love tacos and have tried many places in the surrounding area. We have been on a mission trying to find the best ones for lunch. Stumbled upon this one and we all fell in love! It's cheap. It's delicious. There's a lot of food. The people are nice. What more do you need?! My friend got the pork tacos, chicken tacos and steak and loved all of them. They are only open Fri, Sat and Sun and they are in the parking lot at Sunoco. From what I have read it's family owned. Another little business that deserves nothing but the best!"
"I'm so very sad it took me so long to try this establishment! Came with a friend for lunch. Salsa was fresh, clearly made in house, and full of flavor. Beverage cups are huge, which in the Florida heat of summer was/is greatly appreciated, especially when I only wanted a water because I was parched. We had a few servers stop by the table to ensure we didn't need anything, so the service was absolutely unmatched. Food arrived quickly and was well portioned for the Lunch menu, but not lacking at all. My friend was full and didn't even finish, but I finished my flautas (four in the lunch portion) and quite a bit of the rice and beans that came alongside. The cotija cheese especially on mine was a fantastic surprise and added to the authenticity of the food. Can't wait to return"
"I love this food truck so much! The owner is exceptional with professionalism and customer service. The food is super fresh and authentic. We order enough to have an enormous meal with leftovers for a couple days."
"We'd driven by a few times and noticed the parking lot pretty full. We are taco-fans so we always try out every taco stop we can. We were pleasantly surprised by the tacos at this food truck. A nice assortment of meats to choose from and cooked up fresh when you order. The owners were both very nice and seem like great people. If you're driving by and need something to eat, definitely stop by this Taco Truck and give it a try :)"
"5 star! This place doesn't look like much. Its nestled between a bunch of odd shops in a strip mall; the dining area is small with just 3 or 4 booths but the food is amazing and absolutely Authentic Mexican. Just like their sign says "no fake food".We visited Tacos California and ordered the Breakfast Burrito with bacon and green salsa, the elote cup and a horchata. The hostess at the counter was very friendly and made us feel comfortable. She brought out our food when it was ready, nice and warm. The aroma was delicious just like every bite that followed. We also tried the elote. First time eating it prepared this way (not on a cob) so the texture was different cause you're missing the step of biting into a cob but the flavor was good and included all the toppings of mayonnaise, cheese and chile. The horchata was perfectly prepared with a nice amount of cinnamon. We definitely plan on coming back to try more of the options they have on the menu. They also have fresh fruit smoothies and fruit cups."
"I have now been here twice. Excellent service from the front check in to the servers. We even had a visit from the manager and she was great. She was checking in due to the small extended wait for our meals. I love taco Tuesday! Excellent speciality margaritas. We all had margarita flights. The pork nacho appetizer is a must! It's a bit loud is my only complaint. But that won't keep us from returning."
"I love their quesabirria tacos and asada tacos. They are quick and very friendly. The place is always busy with people picking up and eating onsite. We have tried quite a few taco trucks on 41 and so far this one is the best."
