"My friend and I came for lunch and ate at the bar. The ambiance was nice and service was adequate. We ordered the truffle fries for an appetizer. There was a good portion of fries for two people. The fries were okay. Not the best I ever had but not the worst I ever had. I ordered the Original Poke Bowl and it was a good serving but not enough kale for me. The bowl was just okay as well. Not the best I have had but not the worst I have had. My friend ordered a roll that was usually on the dinner menu but they made it for her because they had the ingredients. That was really nice. Overall, Water and Flour was an average experience. I will try their dinner service to see how it compares. If you are looking for a neat atmosphere try Water and Flour."
"The food was so fresh and the service was super welcoming. The environment made you feel like you were somewhere metropolitan, somewhere other than in Tampa. I can't wait to go back. I can't say it enough, I wish we had more places like this in Trinity. I totally get why this place made it to @yelptampabay Top 100. The vibe is great, and the Gyudon was savory-super fresh- a warm HUG kind of tasty. Delicious!"

"Absolutely phenomenal sushi! The best in Tampa Bay (and I've tried several!). The options are terrific and the waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating, even if the space is small. Do yourself a favor and try Ken's. You will not be disappointed."
"Surprised it got such low ratings! I thought the food, service, and atmosphere were 10/10 overall. Came here on a Sunday and we were able to sit by the water and they had live music! I was able to bring my dog too. I will definitely be back here. What I ordered: - Local Smoked Fish Dip- Spicy Tuna Nachos: Tuna poke, pickled jalapeño and habanero tobiko over wonton chips with wasabi aioli and kabayaki. - Mussels: Black mussels sautéed in wine, garlic, onion, tomato, herbs and lemon butter sauce. Served with cheese bread. - Crunch Grouper NuggetsFresh grouper dipped in beer and rolled in crunched corn flakes, served with key lime tartar. - The Wedge: Crisp iceberg with crumbled applewood bacon, plum tomato slices and Duke's double cheese dressing. - Shrimp Tempura: Crisp shrimp, volcano sauce, avocado and smelt roe."
"What a fun and fantastic place. On a recent trip to St Pete we wandered around for awhile before deciding to give "The Lure" a shot. Boy were we happy with the choice. It's essentially a Bar / Restaurant but unlike many bar / restaurants, the food is fantastic ! We had the nachos with carnitas, the bire stuffed Onoculous egg rolls, the tinga chicken tacos. We also ordered the Cori sushi roll. The have a decent to good selection of craft beers, an ok wine list and a fully stocked bar. The servers all seemed really great (especially ours). I really look forward to coming back to try some of the other awesome things on the menu."
"We eat here regularly. Consistently very good sushi. Excellent service and nice atmosphere."
"Amazing little find loved all the options on the menu. Recommend sitting outside great for big groups"
"Searching for some sushi, while I was in Tampa for work. Reviews for Usami sushi were really strong so I thought we would give it a whirl .I'm really glad I did. Service was fabulous, in the menus had some really interesting items on it..But would you really want to know about the food:Crab Rangoon - excellent appetizer Volcano - not sure why it is called volcano, but it came with spicy tuna and avocado.Coconut Shrimp - wow, amazing.Rock n Roll - favorite of the table, shrimp tempura, cream cheese, crab and topped with eel sauce.Dale Mayberry Roll - same as Rock n Roll but with smoked salmon. Really a delightful place to eat."
"A very welcome back visit for our old friend. We meet here for the welcome dinner. It is definitely a great gathering. We have a big group in the dinning. Thanks to restaurant for treating us with appetizers. I have two specialty roll. The Samurai roll. This the signature roll. This is a shrimp with avocado. Nice touch with strawberry peel. The next roll we have is the volcano roll. This roll I recommended. It has nice tuna cube on top of conch roll bottom. The taste is sophisticated. We also got a miso ramen. Ingredients are good but I prefer Tonkutsu broth better. Service is good. It is a bit slow. We have good experience."
"Small, nice atmosphere, great service, great food. Their spring rolls are my favorite, my husband says all their sushi rolls are the best in Tampa. They're located off Bruce b downs in New Tampa next to Panera. Worth the trip. Highly recommend."
"All u can eat sushi n rolls for $22 lunch $27 dinnerSuper tasty and great service. High quality fish and nice variety of beers. Green tea ice cream for dessert. Will be back for sure!"
"What a great experience.. beautiful decor, friendly staff, wonderful food! A happy hour daily from 3:30 to 7:00pm, lots of options! We had spicy edamame, crispy pork belly, egg rolls, and dumplings for the table. Everything was delicious.I ordered the Ma La Shrimp (Hot & Numbing) ... variety of veggies - red/green peppers, lotus root, onion, Brussels Sprouts, etc. with several lightly battered and fried shrimp. Loved each and every bite. I will absolutely return when I come back to town!"

The ambiance is wonderful. It's a very relaxed environment and a nice spot to catch up over a meal. The food is really tasty. The menu is a tad overwhelming with so many options in various different cuisines. Service is a bit slower than expected for a fast causal environment. Staff is absolutely lovely though.

Been going to the restaurant since its infancy, the owners are amazing people and the staff. Food is amazing, i usually come during lunch often and order the sashimi lunch with kirin. The statue is always something my coworkers talk about when they see it. The servers are fast and attentive and I often see them alot at the sister location Tori bar. Only thing keeping me back from going here everyday is the crowded parking and lack of being able to use the Pressbox empty parking lot. The fries are a must!!!

The food was very average. The sushi didn't taste super fresh. The drinks were good but only well drinks are included for happy hour. The atmosphere is the best attribute and great views of the water. Staff was amazing and attentive.

This is my second time coming here because I enjoyed it so much the first, my friend also had this place come to mind when I asked her for good sushi in Brandon. We started off with miso soups, it was good but didn't have much tofu or seaweed (which I love), but had a good flavor. Next the crab Rangoon, it was tasty! They looked a bit greasy, and the corners are hard to eat because they are hard and sharp. But I enjoyed the filling and the sauce. The server is kind, however I did not like that I felt rushed. I like taking my time picking out my roll (they have almost too many options) and the server was kinda and patient. I'm picky with sushi and I loved my selections. Amazing ambiance!

Good food and cheap drinks could be the theme of Thirsty Marlin. Huge selection of seafood, and discounted sushi rolls for happy hour everyday from 5-7pm. We arrived just before 7pm and took advantage of said happy hour by quickly ordering a Creamy Spicy Tuna & Japanese Bagel roll, for $5 each. To be honest, it might have been the best sushi for the price that I've ever had. And, you can watch them roll it at the sushi bar just adjacent to the regular bar counter. On to the entrees -- so many types of fish prepared in so many different ways. I ended up going with the Salmon Dill Wrap. The salmon is blackened prior to putting it in the wrap so it came out pretty warm which was great, except it caused the dill sauce to melt and ooze out of the wrap with each bite. Needless to say, it was a bit messy. I also got a half inch sized fish bone in one of the bites which was a turn off, but that's the risk you take when ordering fish I guess. The side of coleslaw was pretty good, and the chips were standard ruffles.Service was fine when we went, expectedly laid back as are the vibes of the restaurant. The location is also pretty neat, with several other bars and restaurants on the same strip. So after we ate, we went to a nearby bar to listen to live music.

Absolutely 5 Stars. If I could give 7 stars I would. If you follow me on Yelp or have read any of my reviews, service is important to me. Service was perfect. I had the Sushi Dinner which was was 9 Nigiri and a Tuna roll. I also had a Yellow Tail Hand roll and Surf Clam nigiri. Also included Soup and Salad. My wife had 2 rolls, a Volcano roll where she substituted shrimp for tuna. She does not eat raw fish and a Rock N Roll roll. She said it was the best Volcano roll she has since Kaisen sushi in Carrollwood closed. She also had the Gyoza soup which I tasted and it was amazing. I will have to have that next time. Service was perfect. We have found our go to Sushi place in north Tampa. Oh, also they have Tamari which is a gluten free organic soy sauce. The same brand we use at h

"Overall a good experience! I came to FL as a tourist and stayed with a friend who recommended Hot Tuna and raved about your happy hour. Even though the place looked busy, we were seated almost immediately! Good selection on the HH menu and the quality of the rolls was worth the price! I had two orders of salmon sashimi that never came, but it didn't matter since the two rolls I ordered were more than enough :) The overall noise level wasn't too loud which was nice so my friend and I could have a conversation during dinner. Will definitely come back during my next visit!"
"Everything is so fantastic, I had come here at least 5 already and every time they do such an excellent job . I cant get tired of recommending this place ."
"Very good food and attentive staff. I've only been twice because I don't live there, but it's becoming a tradition to go when I visit my Tampa family. They like Koizi and go whenever they can.Very good for groups of 8-12, including children."
"Found this place by checking out Yelp and saw they had endless sushi. I was seated and quickly found that their entire menu was endless!! I was amazed The wait staff was very attentive, she met me on my last pieces of food to get my next order in quickly.I ate 3 speciality rolls and another roll. Tbh I'm not sure what all I got as I asked for her recommendation and only asked for salmon, crunchy, and eel sauce, she worked her magic and gave me the best rolls I could ask for. After my sushi I asked for miso soup, and crab Rangoon after that. I was STUFFED, absolutely stuffed to the brim. For only $36 after cost, tax, and tip, I HIGHLY recommend this place. It's well worth your money. 2 speciality rolls at another restaurant would have cost me the same and I ate far more than that.Thank y'all for amazing service and food. I'll be back soon, I promise"
"Jimmy's is always a 5 star visit! Our faves are the TNT (Triple Threat), Bahama Mamma, and Florida Roll. Honestly, you can go wrong with any of them. Jimmy is always behind the bar making rolls and so friendly if you sit up there to eat and watch. The space is tight and hard to navigate between the tables to get in and out of restaurant and it's always busy- which is a good thing!"
"Great place I found on Yelp while visiting the Tampa area. Service was prompt, polite, and friendly. My Drunken Noodles were served piping hot, had a great taste, and some really nice heat! (I asked for somewhere between medium and hot). My Thai Iced Sweet Tea with Cream was delicious and served not only as a nice drink with my meal, but seemed as a refreshing dessert as well (yes, it was that good, ha!). Lunch came to just $15.95 which I thought was very reasonable for as much food as I got. Seating includes booths, tables, and 3 bar stools at the front sushi bar. Melodic music played in the background over the course of my meal which added up to a very enjoyable experience. You need to check this place out! Hours are: (posted on front door)Lunch:Monday-Saturday. 11:30am-2:30pmDinner:Monday-Thursday. 4:30pm-9:30pmFriday-Saturday. 4:30pm-10:00pm Sunday. Closed"
"A friendly sushi restaurant with a cozy sushi bar area and very walkable from much of Palma Ceia. The ambiance is functional, but the sushi is always good and we adore their fried tofu appetizer. The Yakisoba dishes are also yummy. This is the place where my child fell in love with sushi so I have huge affection for this restaurant."
"Visited here for the first time yesterday. Restaurant was clean, cool and relaxing. Service was absolutely excellent and fish was fresh and delicious. Boyfriend and I both got the Phoenix roll and we also shared a small sashimi appetizer with my daughter. The Phoenix roll was delicious but other pics I have seen posted had allot more tuna that what was in our rolls and would have enjoyed even more if there was a little more tuna.We also.ordered a side of fried rice to share...add in a little soy and yum yum sauce...mix and delishWill definitely be back to try some more goodies. We all lived the free appetizer they bring out right away with clear soup as well...great touches!"
"This place is kinda off the beaten path. Small house, not a lot of seating. However, the service was excellent, the entire staff was super pleasant. I have eaten a lot of sushi and this was hands down the best EVER. The individual flavors were amazing. Highly recommend giving this place a try, you won't regret it."
"Came to try some sushi because my sister and I were in Tampa for the Ed Sheeran concert. That exact weekend, it was also my sister's friend's birthday, and this is what she wanted. Walking in, there was only 1 couple eating, and the ambience was pretty dark. I wish it was a bit brighter but maybe that's what they were going for. We were seated in a booth. They have menus but when you are ordering sushi, you order off a piece of paper like if you were at a DimSum restaurant. They definitely operate differently from other places. My sister's friend has ordered their Krab Rangoon before and said that it was unique. I have to say, it is not like all the other krab rangoons that you have tried. The imitation krab meat and cream cheese was stuffed between 2 perilla leaves and lightly fried in a batter covered in eel sauce. It was pretty good but I wish they were wontons. The sushi was just subpar, I was not wowed. I definitely have had better from other places."
"Bai buns were delicious. dumplings were . service was quick as heck. 10/10in photo:house saladchicken bao bunchicken yakitoriseared pork japanese gyozaambiance was great as well."
"I have been coming here for the past 7 years - ever since it opened. It is such an amazing spot and a lot of locals come here for happy hour. That is the absolute best time to go. You can't beat the prices. The sushi is always amazing and fresh. The service is always quick and the staff there is great. It's a chill, laid back spot and a great place for a date night."
"This local restaurant in the small shopping plaza in North Tampa is a delight! The sushi chef has the freshest fish locally. The waiter and the owner always come over and check on us. The food is delicious. It's priced right friendly atmosphere. It can be very quiet during the week, which is fabulous if you want an intimate dinner. All the food is fresh fresh fresh! Did notice a few items for sale behind the counter in the back from Nepal handstitched."
"Felt like staying in and ordered Umai Cafe for take-out delivery on our last night in Sand Key. We both ordered a teriyaki bento box and we're pleasantly surprised by the amount of food+sides and overall quality. The miso soup was so soothing, the tempura batter perfection, and the California-roll alternative was a delicious imitation crab + crunchy flakes combo. My beef teriyaki was tender and I really enjoyed the teriyaki sauce. Falls in my realm of comfort food after several days of eating American/casual poolside.I've read good reviews of Umai being a favorite local spot and I can see why. Definitely filled our craving for Japanese/Asian cuisine while on vacation in FL!"
"Overall *** 2.75 Weighted Stars. While I may consider getting takeout I definitely wouldn't return to dine in. Our service was disappointing and the food not good enough to warrant a return trip to deal with it. Be aware that they do not have a liquor license and you cannot bring anything in. Additionally although it is in the name there is no sushi on the menu.Setting ** It's actually nicer inside than the lower end strip mall location might suggest. The restaurant has dark wood paneling and many booths for added intimacy. I'm only going 2 Stars here due to the cleanliness level. The ceiling tiles are water stained with many out of place but it was the bathroom that really turned me off, particularly the light switch plate (see photo).Service ** Granted our server was seemingly the only one working and dealing with the phone, take out orders and tables was a bit much. However she was borderline nasty and we had an excessive amount of confusion with our order. Each item seemed to come out in a haphazard manner and there were stretches we were left wondering if we were going to get what we ordered or if there was another miscommunication.Food *** The Tom Yum soup was very good as was the cucumber salad, our entrees all were a letdown though. Pad Thai, Cashew Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice all suffered from the same fate, they just had no flavor. Without adding lots of condiments it's like we are eating nothing. The Won Ton Soup was loaded with bean sprouts so if you are not a fan of those like me you may want to ask them not put them in. Value *** Entrees we're about average in my book at $15.95, small cups of soup at $6 each I feel was pricey."
"Coming from NYC wasn't expecting good sushi in the middle of Florida, no offense intended :(. But right from the door met with a friendly family leaving the restaurant giving us a heads up that the food we were about to eat was really good. Servicer, Lisa, was efficient and friendly. The drinks, sweet tea and hot saki were excellent, the teriyaki entree, fried crab, salads, all delicious. The rolls took some time to wait for, but when they came, you could understand why, so big and so much, have to bag those to go :p. Highly recommend"
"Love, love, LOVE the food. My favorite appetizers are the crab Rangoon, Edamame, and Shrimp Shumai. My Fiancée orders an assortment of sushi rolls and I usually order the salmon Teryaki. The people are very nice and there's a nice vibe to the place."
"**** 153 ****Stopped in for lunch. The place is big and has a nice sushi prep area. Service was good, and staff really friendly. The menu is extensive, and everything looked good. Ordered the Summer Spring Rolls with shrimp, it came with some delicious peanut and sweet chili sauces. The rolls were mostly lettuce, and the shrimp was really thickly sliced, could barely taste it. Also had the Best Friends Sushi Burrito, it was delicious. Everything tasted very fresh and really well made. I'll definitely be back to try their fried rice."
"The garlic chicken lo me in is my go to when I am in St. Petersburg. It never fails to satisfy."
"I read the reviews before arriving and surmised that almost half of the patrons received poor service. Our experience was positive and the food was prepared perfectly and came out quickly. We will definitely go again and recommend to friends."
"This is always one of our favorite places. Consistently good food and service, lovely atmosphere."
"We've eaten here several times, but the quality of food went downhill. The restaurant is decent, too bright for night time and lots of people going in to pick up food. We ordered a rice and chicken soup and the chicken is boiled, so that was a turn off. We ordered the spicy tuna and the tuna was puréed! Shocking! We both ordered diff Pad Thai and it was ok, nothing special. Not sure we'll be going back, unfortunately."
"Ploy Thai offers great service and a welcoming ambiance. Despite being located in a nondescript plaza, the interior is beautifully decorated, giving it the feel of a nicer restaurant. We started with the miso soups and crab rangoons. Both were delicious. The rangoons had a pleasant surprise--a hint of curry sauce inside, which added a flavorful twist. The miso soup was hearty and more elevated than the typical version, making it a perfect way to start the meal. For our entrees, we tried the Panang curry and the crispy duck. The Panang curry was outstanding, and I'd definitely recommend it. The crispy duck, which was heavily promoted around the restaurant, looked great but unfortunately was extremely dry. It didn't meet expectations, especially compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, I highly recommend giving Ploy Thai a try. While the crispy duck was a bit of a letdown, the rest of the experience more than made up for it!Oh, and the Thai iced coffee was fantastic!!!"
