"I stopped in for a quick lunch during our conference. I have been in the past and enjoyed the 1905 salad and wanted to give it another try. I sat at the bar and had great conversation with the bartender. I love the ambience of the restaurant with it being an outside feel even on a slightly chilly day."
"Fantastic food and service. I enjoyed the Cajun Sweet Fried Chicken. The atmosphere is great, you can choose inside or outside and receive the same service. Will be back."
A classic New Orleans dish! Large seasoned shrimp sauteed in savory garlic and lemon butter ale, served with toast points.

"Such a cute spot with a waterfront view! Brian's place has fresh, delicious food clearly prepared with love. :) I got the sun dried tomato Alfredo with shrimp (can add chicken, shrimp, or grouper) & it was divine! The owner came out to greet us and was incredibly kind. I appreciate the extra personalized touches Brian's Place offered. I tried Brian's Place for the first time after Hurricane Helene devastated this area of FL- they were flooded out but are making renovations and doing their best to rebuild. Please please support our local businesses getting back up on their feet! They clearly care and make outstanding food- it's a win win to visit Brian's Place! Thank you for still being here."
"We had such a great experience at this family owned place. The ladies were so wonderful despite huge line. And the food was very good. I love they offer vegan options, you can either go with the 3 side vegetarian meal and select items that are vegan or go with their vegan wrap. I went with the wrap and it was very good but very filling, I was able to eat only half of it. Note that the sauce it comes with is NOT VEGAN.I also got the yucca with mojo sauce. My husband had the ropa vieja with white rice and black beans. He also tried the fried sides stuffed potato. He loved everything he had. I had a taste of his black beans and they were delicious! They also brought a freshly toasted cuban bread to the table. Overall it was a very nice experience and we'd love to come back."
"When Ybor City you gotta have a Cuban Sandwich! We found Carmine's. The place has history. Is huge with a comfortable bar.We bellied up starving and thirsty. We waited and waited. Finally the bartender stopped by and dropped menus turned on his heels and he was off to win the came to continue a conversation with bar patrons. No offer of drinks just menus. So we waited again.. finally another stop. We each ordered local beers and then he forgot to pour as he was off to see the bar patrons. A glance caused him to remember.. finally beers. Seizing the moment we each ordered their famous Cuban Sandwich. The sandwich arrived and did not disappoint however the prep time was long and our beers were getting low. The bar patrons were getting louder and the bartender was an instigator. So no 2nd beers for us.3 stars for food1 star for food runner0stars for bartender"
"My friends were visiting Clearwater Beach, so I searched for a restaurant nearby for dinner. I'm SO grateful that Yelp brought up La Pollera Colorada because the food here was amazing! I love discovering new restaurants, and even moreso, impressing friends with delicious local eats.La Pollera Colorada offers Colombian dishes at very affordable prices. My husband and I shared the Parrillada for 2, which includes skirt steak, NY strip, Spanish sausage, blood sausage, chicken breast, and two side dishes of your choice (we chose rice and beans). I also ordered fried maduros to complete our meal. The meats served are HUGE, and this platter could certainly feed three or even four people. The skirt steak and blood sausage were my favorite entrees, but all of the meats are delicious and cooked to your preference. The maduros were not greasy, but I thought they could be a little sweeter. Our meal came out to $40, including a cafe con leche. You can't beat the quality AND quantity of this meal for the price! The restaurant is somewhat small inside, so if it's the weekend or common meal times, I imagine it may get crowded. Service was on the leisurely side, but everyone was very friendly. I also thought the temperature inside the restaurant was very warm.Overall, my friends and I had an excellent meal at La Pollera Colorada. I would love to visit again when I'm in the Clearwarter area once more."
"This is a pretty good "latin" restaurant.Imagine my surprise hearing Colombian music when I arrived. I can get over that if the food feels right... It was on. Kinda expensive for what feels like imitation Spaniard food. Having lived in Spain, I wanted to believe somewhere could capture the nature of Spain in a restaurant. This wasn't it. The sangria was nice and strong though. I wish I came for the flamenco but if it was like the food ... Maybe I lucked out of the $20 cover if I wanted to see it."
"Delicious food & friendly service. Absolutely love the Fried Whitefish, Yellow Rice, Black Beans with the marinated onions and the olive butter...yum I have had their Cubans which are good and bean soup which is delish!! Can't wait to go back, next time I would like to try the Cuban Fusion Wrap!! Just wish they had table service and better ambiance but will definitely be back for the delicious grub!"
"EXCELLENT SANDWICH!! The best tasting and most reasonably priced Cuban sandwiches I've found in the Tampa area."

Look. We came here about a year ago? And WALKED OUT because we waited too long (more than three minutes) to be even acknowledged in a virtually empty place.... and the bartender was wearing a face mask.We heard that a friend was working here so came up for a drink and an app. What a SURPRISE!!! Everything has been fantastic. Got a ride on the Eaton Express from the runoff parking and am currently having some of the best fried oysters we have had in a looooong time! So good, in fact, that I am rudely posting at the table! Nicely done! The service staff is super attentive and willing to help.Fryer, Expo and food runner - Thank you! Excellent!

This place is locally owned and gets his fish right from the Gulf from a local fisherman. His restaurant is almost always busy so that speaks to the service and the food that he provides. He has a Spanish fusion menu, but don't let that scare you, there's plenty to feed everyone. There are great sunsets at this restaurant, so if you're into that, definitely check it out. He has a meeting room upstairs that can accommodate roughly 30 people so if you're thinking of a gathering, definitely consider Brian's PlaceA friend and I had lunch there on Friday, and I have the ahi tuna burger, which is served with fries. The ahi was perfectly cooked in the bun was toasted delicately but lightly. I opted not to have the pineapple mayonnaise served with it as I do not necessarily like sweet and savory together, so I got there slightly spicy and housemaid mayonnaise, which was perfect. This place has great charm and service and food have always been wonderful every time I have visited. I definitely recommend so don't hesitate. You might even see the owner wondering about to say hello.Sorry for the lack of pictures of the food as I was starving and I dug right in.

Wow! This Cuban Café felt like I stepped into little Cuba. The service was immaculate, and I tried the tamale which was so soft and comforting. It had the roasted pork inside fire! My boyfriend ordered the Ropa Vieja with rice and three fried eggs. He's a happy man.Definitely want to come back for the weekend. They offer stewed oxtail!! Definitely coming back to try !

If there were six stars I would give it that! I tried the Cuban sandwich and the fried green tomatoes. The Cuban sandwich was delicious and the portion sizes for the price were great. The service was great and the atmosphere was great! If I ever hear of anyone going to Tampa I will gladly recomm

You will not find better prices on food. To my gringos, take a chance, try the hole in the wall spot. Get a platter and some cafe leche or sangria. Don't forget the hot sauce. Great stuff! You won't leave hungry or disappointed. Steak is good, sausage as well. Pork could use salt but it's still good. Beans are great and the rice is phenomenal. Cuban sandwich is non traditional but for $8 you get a sandwich, fries, and pop.

Stopped by here 9.27.24 after a Hurricane Helene and they were open for business. It was a decent sized place, but there was a wedding party so half the restaurant was blocked for their use. It was fine as we were only a party of two so we sat at the bar. The bartender served us and the food was phenomenal. His service was great. I wish I remembered his name, but he was terrific. We only got a few appetizers but the croquetas were SOOO good. Empanadas - I may prefer Mr. Empanada but everyone has their preferences.

The Taste of Ybor is now in South Hillsborough! To my surprise I was patronizing another shop in the Va Viva plaza and walked over to La Séptima Café!It was a nice refreshing surprise actually because there aren't a lot of cultural cafes in the area let alone a Cuban cultural one brought from Ybor City in Tampa. They have a nice menu from drinks and appetizers to full entres and dessert. On this visit I tried the Pressed Cuban Wrap and yuca fries with a tall glass of sangria! What a delicious lunch! The place isn't fancy but it does have the reminders of the Ybor flavor and feel.I'll definitely be back sometime to try other items on the menu.

"This is 1Of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was like a kings Hawaiian roll. Meat was so tender and tasty. I should have bought another one for the road and eat it tomorrow. Place is small and has a line but worth it. I'm in Ocala and I will drive back down there for this sandwich. Service was good for how busy they were. Just take your food over to the bar next door called tidal brewery and eat it. Comings back over and over. WOW"
"This paella is good for three, maybe 4 and is so delicious, just like my pineapple ginger monito. Banda Fonseca on Fri is great. We had a great time."
"I stumbled on this place while working in St. Petersburg. The owner was very friendly and the restaurant has been in business over 20 years. I came back later for a late lunch, and our waiter, Jesse, was helpful when I asked for recommendations. Pollo Ala Russa was my choice with Yuca and Caldo soup. The chicken was breaded and juicy, with small peas in a light very flavorful sauce. I really enjoyed the collard green soup with beans. It was something new for me to try and it made me happy. The Yuca had a Mojo sauce on it, which added extra flavor. They even served some warm Cuban bread before the meal.I will definitely find my way back to this great little restaurant. Maybe sit on the patio, try something else new. Price , service, and food are all a win. It's worth the drive."
"Carribean Twist3328 W Columbus Dr, Tampa, FL [email protected] The Perfect Mix of Cuban and Dominican Cuisine. Caribbean Twist is here to serve you the BEST Latin Food. I had the pleasure of visiting them this week and let me tell you, this place rocks. Great Latin Food. Lots of Options to choose from. Good Atmosphere. Friendly staff to attend you. I would definitely recommend to come visit them and try out thier food menu."
"The best Cuban sandwich. The sandwich is enough for two people. The owner is friendly and a kind soul. Best to call your order before arriving."
"Enjoyed the best Cuban sandwich ever at this location today. The female owner engaged me in pleasant conversation while preparing my sandwich. The Cuban bread was excellent and meats were very tasty. Great value for the money as well. I will return to this place again."
"Admittedly, I completely underestimated Vizcaya...it's a restaurant in an old converted gas station in the heart of SOHO so how good can it??? Simply put, the food @ Vizcaya is delicious!!! It's absolutely the best Spanish tapas in Tampa Bay and it rivals well known Spanish restaurants in other parts of the US like Barcelona. I actually give the nod to Vizcaya because in many ways its more delicious and locally owned. We tried an array of dishes including one of the salad, gambas, paella, oxtail, etc. Literally, everything was absolutely fantastic. The paella is the best Tampa. They also have a great wine list. The service was great and the owner seems like a really nice guy. The interior was nicely designed and very comfortable. They could also accommodate larger parties despite how small the restaurant appears from the outside.I had a lot of assumptions that were completely off base and almost caused me to miss out on one of best Tampa's hidden gems. Definitely check it out asap!!!"
"Papi's Cafe is a blessing to society. My husband has raved about it for a couple of years, as it is in his office building. If he could, he would have a cafe con leche from Papi's every day. And so when I finally got the chance to try...my expectations were high. And I am happy to report they were surpassed after just one empanada. The portions- awesomeThe flavor- fantasticThe price-shocking! The menu is always changing, which is a delight, and the owner himself is a delight! Overall, I would highly recommend tucking in here for a quick lunch or stop for breakfast on the way to work, even if you're not working in this building. (There are plenty of public parking spots.)"
"Best authentic empanadas and pork belly!!! This place is a hidden gem!Must try this place out! Friendly service!"
"I have a thing for Cuban food. And my morning rocks after dining on Cuban toast dunked in Cafe Con Leche. Finding the perfect combo is always a challenge. Cafe Con Leche without enough cafe or with lukewarm Leche or with imperfectly added sugar is so disappointing. Cuban bread that is barely pressed or stale enough to use a a door stop or not buttered on the outside causes sadness. Not here. Not at this tiny little cafe with its kind owners who ask all the right questions. Yes I want my toast crispy (double pressed for those places using timers). No barely warm and barely squished bread for me! And yes I must have sugar because like those who consumed Cafe Con Leche long before me, I need to get through a long day!!I loved my combo ($4.55) and know I will be back for the boliche or snapper or chicken or whatever is on the daily specials board. This is an unpretentious little place with basic tables, a tile floor, a hot food cafeteria style counter and the kind of exterior you might drive by. If you like Spanish food, don't."
"Fantastic Lobster & Seafood Paella Everything was cooked perfectly and the owner Patrick is so nice!Their meatballs, croquettes and garlic shrimp are must try's as well. Also great to order ahead for a party or get together with friends"
"Good for what it is.Precious and I had a hankerin' for some Honduran food. She googled it and found a Honduran restaurant, but when we got there, it didn't open until 4 p.m. We had to catch a flight. Bummer. But this place was right next door. We never had Colombian food so we were down for this. This is what Precious would call a "hole-in-the-wall". It's a nice hole in the wall though. It's a very small restaurant. It has a few tables and a counter. A big television behind the counter was playing a concert of Juan Luis Guerra, a Dominican musician. You can eat in or take out. The first guy we met was a young, handsome bearded dude. He was nice. He gave us some menus and then later came by our table to take our order. They have a big enough menu to make anyone happy. Precious got something I forgot what it was. It was a tortilla which I think had cheese inside covered with something almost like chicken salad. For drinks they have your standard sodas and juices but also have tamarind, mango juice and other southern drinks."
"Stopped in this place once, thinking it offered Brazilian fare. The menu listings were more Colombian/Central American featuring bandeja de la Paisa & sancocha. The server could not really describe dishes well in advance. Service was limp, long wait for food despite few other customers. Dishes were edible but not memorable, but at least not expensive. Not surprisingly we have not tried again. Would not recommend when there are so many other excellent options very near by.......better off to drop into Valentine's bar where you can get strong pours during their 2 for 1 happy hour starting at 3pm and running til about 9 when the regular gay customers start showing up. Straights are especially welcomed in the afternoon when the place is dead. Take a gander at photos of the drag queens that entertain long after my bed time. [See separate review]"
"I Love The Food The service is nice and the ambience very nice you can go there and sit down and enjoy the food"
