"I'm Dominican and we are extremely picky about cake This things are AMAZING. This is the Hawaiian princess and its definitely in terms of the texture, flavor,filling...uffff extraordinary. The sandwiches are big and full of filling.Love this place"
"We moved from Nashville to Tampa early during COVID and became hooked on fresh caught grouper. Big Ray's has some of the best grouper the Bay Area has to offer.Wither at their Interbay or Downtown location this place never fails.Fast, friendly service every time. You have to try the lobster corn dog if feeling adventurous!"

"great atmosphere, great cubans and the cuban coffee cafe on leche is awesome also got the guava cheese turnover. YUM"
"If you're following because you're gluten-free, then turn your head away from this review. I have gluten-sensitivity (not Celiac Disease) so I can occasionally have gluten with the help of digestive enzymes.I have only had Cuban sandwiches from West Tampa Sandwich when coworkers picked up lunch for my department. So this review is solely for the Cuban sandwiches. I can't say if this is the best Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Bay. It's up there though. I can't say much on the service or Ambiance because I was never at their restaurant. The Cuban bread is perfectly toasted on the outside and filled nicely with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. In pretty sure there are more ingredients in this Cuban sandwich than the original version, but it works. Plus, I'm all for sneaking in veggies whenever possible."
"Mamey flan, coquito flan, empanadasLove this placeThe flags taste exactly like the flavor they advertise. The staff is so sweet and now they have more space!I'm so happy to see them growing!"
"Talk about an amazing cuban sandwich! I loved everything about it. The bread was toasted to perfection. The meat to cheese ratio was great and the taste was outstanding. Also don't sleep on their french toast. It was very delicious! They give you syrup and a side of guava sauce. The staff was very welcoming and had great recommendations. I will be returning for another cuban sandwich and cafe con Leche."
"Today, we had the pleasure of visiting The Wooden Rooster, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, the staff greeted us warmly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The quaint restaurant itself exudes simplicity and charm, with ample natural light adding to its inviting ambiance. The menu offered a nice variety, featuring crepes and baked goods, along with a diverse selection of beverages ranging from sparkling water and coffee to mimosas and bloody Mary's, not to mention a few beer options. We opted for "The Beast-Ly" crepe special and an enchilada crepe, both of which exceeded our expectations. The portions were generous, and the flavors were wonderful. Each bite was a perfect blend of savory and satisfying.Overall, The Wooden Rooster stands out not only for its delicious food but also for its warm hospitality and relaxed atmosphere. It's a gem of a place where you can enjoy a fantastic meal in a cozy setting. We can't wait to return!"
"This authentic Italian restaurant has the most exquisite pasta, which is made fresh and served with incredible sauces. Outstanding service. I highly recommend planning a visit here."
"Do not judge a book by its cover. This place looks dated on the outside and is small on the inside thus creating long wait times BUT the food is absolutely fantastic! Best Steak I've had anywhere in Tampa including Bern's!"
"The Benny Cubano was so good that I came back after having it a year ago. I got the media noche which has sweeter bread and it was just as good. Enjoyed the cafe con leche as well!"
"I was looking for a quick place to eat eat lunch and this seems to be a very popular spot because they had quite a long line. I couldn't wait, so I went someplace else. I think because the line was so long and all the people had such happy faces, I will go back to try it out."
"We let Yelp pick this place for us. I honestly had no idea it existed, but I'm glad i know it does, now! We drove from Tarpon Springs to St. Pete, and got Princess Parking right in front of the eatery. As the weather was beautiful, we opted to sit outside, and the waiter was wonderful, he made sure to get our drinks, i got a can of coke and my friend got a dark german beer. Both were good.We ordered off the menu, i ordered the Vienna Schnitzel, pork with their Best of the Bay fries my friend got 2 different kinds of sausage, some fries and sauerkraut. The food didnt take long to cook and was delivered piping hot. The fries? They live up to the best of the bay. They are delicious and crispy with a hint of garlic. Absolutely amazing. My schnitzel was a huge serving and I ended up taking 1/2 home.My Friends platter was large, the sausages were served with a good ground mustard, and we got curry sauce, which turned out to be delightful! This place is a hit! When in St.Pete, I'd find this place again. My belly was very happy!"

This is a Tampa institution and I hope nothing changes with the new ownership. We always grab a slice of the yellow cake with chocolate icing and carrot cake when we stop here for a sandwich. I loved the old school dining room before the renovation, but I get why they updated it.Ordering and pre ordering is a breeze with the systems they have in place. Great for small orders as well as for catering. As for sandwiches, the BLT is consistently good. They have the best tomatoes ever. The golden gate is great for a salty sweet sandwich. The staff is always friendly and efficient. Great job done by all.

tl;dr don't miss out on the blackened grouper or fried key lime pie at this popular, hole-in-the-wall seafood shackThe waters of Tampa are widely known for their abundant grouper, and the nearby Madeira Beach is the self-described "grouper capital of the world." Unsurprisingly, grouper (especially the grouper sandwich) is ubiquitous across Tampa restaurants, and few do it better than Big Ray's Fish Camp. Tampa native Nick Cruz came armed with family recipes when he opened the decidedly casual seafood joint back in 2015. He quickly received local acclaim, and the restaurant has more recently been featured on the Food Network. The original Ballast Point location is a standalone, cinder block shack, painted with a grouper-themed mural along the side. The small, square room is decorated with marine and nautical motifs, from a mounted grouper head to shabby wooden signs. Polaroids are clipped to the well-worn shiplap wall to the left, and the menu is displayed on a chalkboard across the back. Stainless steel chairs are pressed up against the mismatched wooden tables and counters. Reggae tunes blend with the sizzle from the kitchen. My family arrived for early dinner on a drizzly weekday evening, and we were the only ones there. We ordered the Blackened Grouper Sandwich, Caesar Salad with Blackened Chicken, Shrimp Po' Boy, and Fried Key Lime Pie. My hand-sized grouper filet was expertly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The homemade tartar sauce was pleasantly heavy on the pickles -- it's a shame that the flavors were somewhat drowned out by the massive sesame seed bun. The butterflied chicken breast was just as well-seasoned as the grouper, but the salad was "Caesar" only in name: it consisted of the same tomato and lettuce rings that otherwise would be used on the sandwiches, served beside a prepackaged Caesar dressing. Meanwhile, my sister loved her po' boy, which packed 8 large, lightly battered, flash-fried shrimp. The French roll was soft and chewy, in contrast to the crisp veggies and shrimp. Between our sides, the lightly battered, piping hot, pepper-forward onion rings were the clear winner. The fries, meanwhile, were mostly standard steakhouse variety, apart from the addition of parmesan. Lastly, the pie (which was frozen, battered, and fried) was enjoyably warm and crispy on the outside, but creamy and cold on the inside. The sweetened condensed milk on the side proved to be the perfectly sugary complement.Service was laid-back and friendly, but the restaurant seemed understaffed during an unexpected dinner rush right after we ordered. Additionally, each item was made-to-order, but our first entree arrived 20 minutes before the last, with nothing more than a shrug. Although seemingly geared toward takeout, at nearly $70 for everything, Big Ray's certainly isn't everyday dinner. Nonetheless, the blackened grouper and fried key lime pie are must-try dishes worthy of the hype.

On my most recent visit to Tampa, I was looking for a quick lunch. My buddy in Houston recommended West Tampa Sandwich Shop. He said they have the best Cuban Sandwich he's ever had. I couldn't say no to that. Located in a residential community, they have a small parking lot so I ended up parking on the street. Upon walking in, you'll see this is a casual spot. No frills. Lots of locals and Cuban people. Upon being seated, I looked over their large menu. Naturally, I went with the Cuban sandwich. They have two sizes. I went with large as there wasn't much of a price difference between the two. If you've never had a classic sandwich like a Cuban, you need to get on that. And quickly. The combination of ham, pork, mustard, cheese, and pickles on nicely pressed and toasted bread always delivers. And West Tampa Sandwich Shop does it at a high level. You can taste the quality of the ham. They add mayo to it too. It's a damn good sammie. Along with my soft drink, I also did some ham and cheese croquettes as a side. Another Cuban go-to. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. And it was friendly service too. Definitely check them out for some authentic Cuban!

A friend brought me along for a late Saturday brunch--who could say no to flan?!Of course, I started with a café con leche. That hot coffee was exactly what I needed, especially on a chilly Florida morning. When it came to the main dish, I had a little dilemma--sandwich or biscuit? Since I don't eat eggs, I went with the biscuit to keep things simple. But after sneaking a bite of my friend's sandwich, I have to say... that crunch was everything I missed! So yes, I'll definitely be back for a sandwich, even without eggs!We were already stuffed, so we skipped the flan (tragic, I know). But hey, that just gives me the perfect excuse to return! The service was great, too. The staff at the counter took the time to suggest options based on my food preferences, which I really appreciated.Highly recommend--for a laid-back weekend brunch or a casual meal with friends

10/10 food and serviceWe got the classic Cuban, as well as their steak sandwich, both of which were phenomenal and had a generous portion of meat. The cilantro sauce on the steak sandwich was to die for, I got extra on the side to dip it in. Chips and a drink can be added to make a combo. They gave us a cortadito and cheeseburger empanada to try which was very nice of them. Both ended up being great and will be added to our order next time, with other empanada flavors to try. We have gone back twice since, highly recommend.

This place serves mostly crepes. The scrambled eggs were really dry come to find out they make a huge batch and serve throughout the day. So it's not technically "fresh" when you order eggs. Service was fine, people were nice. But I've definitely had better breakfast food esp for this price

I 12/10 recommend Frammi to anyone who loves supporting family business and loves Italian cuisine. My boyfriend and I went on a lunch date here and absolutely enjoyed both the meal and the friendliness atmosphere. The owner introduced himself and told us about the restaurant which I thought was very nice of him to do so. Our waiter Diego was also very welcoming and attentive. Prices are fair for the great quality provided in the meal. I will definitely be visiting again :)

"The fun vibe is an old house with a wraparound porch that you can dine on outdoors. Inside is a bar with several tables for dining as well. This was a get together with family members that we haven't seen in over 20 years so that conversation with lots of fun! We ordered the sear tuna appetizer that was very good. The quesadilla came out too well done not enjoyable pass. Some of the family members ordered the meatloaf. They said it was very good. Salads very nice as well. I ordered the fish and chips the piece of fish was generous, but very greasy and all the fries were way overdone. This is a fun place decent food. Lots of great specials every day drink specials food specials, funky neighborhood of Seminole Heights"
"Finally got to Wild Child for the first time and I'm bummed it took me this long! I ordered the Lost Weekend cocktail with mezcal, split the brussels + ceviche + chicken entree. I loved the drink, and the brussels sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. The vinaigrette that was on them was really special. The ceviche was delicious too, the seafood fresh and the crisps crispy! The chicken was great, but nothing exciting after being so obsessed with everything else I ate. I also ate some of my friend's fries, which were fantastic. Can't wait to come back and try more soon!"
"My home town of Charlotte has lots of things but I've been challenged to find a really good Cuban sandwich. So here I am in Tampa and while it's not Cuba, it's pretty close. My first stop after picking up the rental car was Yelp's suggestion for the best Cuban in town.I arrived at Gonzo's well after the lunch rush and was the only customer in there for a bit. I ordered my sandwich and it was brought to the table a few minutes later. This is the best Cuban I've had in a while. Ham, roast pork, mustard, pickle, Swiss cheese on a Cuban bread then grilled in a panini press. Other than the roast pork being a little "wet", it was perfectly delicious. So very good and a good sized sandwich. Five stars![Review 18825 overall - 1550 in Florida - 2348 of 2022.]"
"Great place- extensive menu.... It will become our new favorite breakfast place. Delicious French toast-- eggs-- grits-- and scrapple cooked exactly as I requested. Taylor was our server, took excellent care of us. Thank you and see you soonDefinitely 5 stars"
"We ordered for pickup, drove over the ride was quick. The parking lot is small and so is the restaurant. Walked in the Stromboli we ordered was not ready. The manager greeted us and had us laughing with his gift of gab!! We chatted until our order was ready. Once we got home the Stromboli was Perfect!! It was garlicky, bursting with cheese, sausage, pepperoni, onions and bell peppers. Loved every bite of it. Would definitely come back over and over again. This was our second time having the Stromboli. You need King's Pizza in your life!! DELICIOUSNESS!!"
"LOOVVVVVVEEEEE THIS PLACEEEEEE!!!!Been a fan forever and always will be! This place is so important to me! They have been around forever and still going. When they closed down and someone bought it thinking it was going to stay closed forever I was so heartbroken. Thank god someone bought this family owned and took over. The food is out of this world. Southern comfort food. Made with live seasoned and spiced that will knock your socks off. The hash brown casserole is a staple in almost everyone's order when they come here, it is garlicky, herby, oniony and creamy and crispy. The biscuits and gravy is so delicious you almost want to take another togo. The whole entire staff has such a good system that not one person is left sitting and waiting. They all take care of each other I've noticed. They help each other out. When other restaurants open up they need to come here for training. The whole restaurant is a vibe. A good vibe, a vibe of every color of the rainbow coming in for a good meal."
"Great service and good food. I enjoyed the diner and had a really good breakfast at a reasonable price. I couldn't ask for more! Nice to have a place here that's not overpriced and the atmosphere feels like a local establishment with real people. I'll be back again for sure."
"So happy I can update my review from over 10 years ago. I went to Saigon Bay over a decade ago, but it's completely different. From reading James review, he reminded me of their awful fire in 2020, and how they rebuilt in this location. So happy to stop by here for lunch with my friend. We loved our server who was like a mom to us as soon as we walked in. I ordered a pork banh mi sandwich, & my server said get the quail appetizer, and so I did. My friend got the beef stew - Bo Kho with bread, not noodles. She did not want noodles. We shared them, and I loved the seasoning of the quail. I also loved dipping my sandwich in the broth of the stew. It was so tasty and had a sweet tinge to it. I also loved the carrots. I didn't love the beef so much but I do love the broth and veggies in the beef stew. It's different bc it's a thin broth not like a thick American beef stew.Everything was tasty here. Our server was so sweet. She spoke very good English and she made sure we mixed and made sure we ate the salad with the quail and made sure we had everything just right before we ate it.We liked our booth and there were other tables as well. The counter area is very floral and bright. It's a great spot, and we definitely adored our lunch. They open at 10:30 am."
"What a great little spot for happy hour. Came with old friends to reconnect and they have some great drinks on the menu. Parking is on the street and you can pay for the lot across the street.Food was actually better than I expected their flatbreads are fantastic and everyone really enjoyed their time. It is a small place but they were able to accommodate 8 of us! Perfect for after work drinks or a casual dinner."
"Servers are great. Food is right on the button. We always take home a 1/2 gallon of clam chowder. Surprisingly good hamburgers. You can't miss with the fried clam strips. We love to sit outside to eat with our dogs. Not super fancy but the fish tank is interesting"
"Why, oh why, did I wait so long to come back?! It was time for another delicious piece of the rock. (Those of us of a certain age are now humming the old Prudential Insurance commercial) Admittedly, it's been a couple years since we've been here. They've painted outside and in, but it's still cozy and has the "local favorite feeling"... and we somehow ended up in the same booth. It was a Thursday afternoon, between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't busy. The plan was simple: thin crust pepperoni and that amazing Marty's salad. It's heavenly-and huge!!! (I wish I could say I had leftovers for days, but I couldn't leave it alone once I got home!) I really enjoy this place: service is personable and prompt, the food is excellent, everything is so clean, casual and welcoming inside. I need to become a regular. It's conveniently located near Brandon hospital, with a parking lot right out front. Somehow, we've always been here at "off" times of day-but I'll bet it's super busy on weekend nights. It should be! This place is gooood. Hope to see you there!"
"Everything about this place makes you feel at home. Food is great and fresh tasting. Staff are very kind and welcoming. Definitely somewhere I would frequent"
"Love having breakfast here! Love their pan de bono, Colombian cheese bread, to start & the breakfast Cuban with bacon. Coffee is good & la arepa, sweet corn flat bread, is also delicious! Still have more to try but definitely recommend!"
"Great outdoor bar and dance area outside the conference center. It's coincidently located near the river walk and several your boats. I had the pina colada they sever a variety of alcoholic beverages. Staff were attentive and DJ was awesome. He played several throw backs. The crowd is mid 30s +. It's super chill. You eat dance and relax. I recommend and hope to return. Hope you enjoy as much as I did."
"What a hidden gym!!!! We saw it on signs got curious looked it up! And yummy we were so overwhelmed by so much offerings there, we needed bigger stomachs! The staff celebrated another staffs birthday! Omg so cute! Great work environment for sure!We did the hot line this time with a few pastries togo!Next time we come we are getting the sandwiches!"
"We love the Boozy Pig, it has been a great addition to our midtown neighborhood. This is a family owned business that we love to support. We enjoy the weekend brunch. The Hillsborough Hash and blueberry ricotta pancakes cakes are delicious! If you are grilling the blue cheese burgers and steaks are far superior to any grocery store meats."
"Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommended and I will definitely be returning when I'm in Tampa!"
"So it's been a while since hubby and I have been here. They have did some work on the inside, looks good. Doesn't have much seating however. The menu has grown a lot, plenty more food options. Service still good, friendly ladies. Sandwiches still good as well. Enjoyed me a tasty Rueben sandwich and hubby got a Cuban. Have to go back and try some of the new menu items. Great place for lunch or dinner."
"Here's the deal: clearly, locals love it.But lots of people also love McDonald's.Hive-mind popularity is not an indication of quality.Their patrons' palates are not refined enough to recognize how far behind this place is in terms of standards.Want a chewy doughball with hardly any cinnamon or frosting? They've got it. We waited at least 20 minutes for two sandwiches, one of which was the buffalo chicken. I assumed the chicken was being freshly battered, deep-fried, and prepared to deliver a crispy, juicy, mouth-watering, finger-licking good treat.Instead, what I got was a hastily made sandwich, crafted with the finesse of a drunken college fry cook. It was smashed to bits, likely made with par-baked, frozen Tyson chicken strips--no crunch, no flavor, and barely any buffalo sauce.Uninspired, delayed, and completely off the mark. Why is the sourdough loaf so dense, gummy, and anemic-looking? It does have a nice sour bite, and when toasted at home, it becomes edible--that's its only saving grace.Scholars will be studying Tampa's fascination with this place for decades."
"Very welcoming establishment! Good food, great coffee, and wonderful hospitality. Whether you're exploring the area or a local in search of a satisfying breakfast where you feel at home, this is the spot. Fresh muffins are placed on each table, and the food was quickly made and delivered. I will definitely be back when I am in the area. Highly recommended!"
"just a great place, the rooftop bar is awesome with the entertainment and all the girls up there Donna Suzy and all of the rest are just so great so thoughtful and so nice. I love that place Ramundo."
"I always come to Yelp when I'm in an area I am not familiar with. Hubby and I were in Lakeland today and on our way to play it again sports we drove past this cool old building. I looked up what it was and it was this place!! The reviews seemed pretty promising. So on our way out of town we stopped for a bite to eat. My husband ordered the patty melt. Now the fries are homemade! They were delicious!! He said he should have stopped after eating just half but he convinced on and ate the whole thing! He said it was one of the better patty melts he has had. I picked wings and a side salad. The salad was delicious and the wings cooked perfectly!! The ranch was freaking amazing, of course homemade. This place likes to make craft food and from scratch! Worth the trip!! I was happy to be able to read the history of this place on the website: HISTORYA little over a mile from it's current Dixieland location, The Tudor House was originally built in 1927 near the intersection between W Beacon Rd. and S San Gully Rd. In 1935, following one failed attempt, by a previous owner to move the home, Mr. O. Forrest McGill moved it to it's previous location on 1068 Lake Hollingsworth Rd. The Tudor House changed hands over the next few decades until Mr. Gene Holloway bought it in 1969. Through the years, various owners and renovations, the house came to look quite different than it does today. Mr. Holloway expanded on the building too; adding a garage, more bedrooms, bathrooms, an entertainment bar, and ball room. Primarily built to entertain business partners, and out of town guests, it is known that even Elvis spent some time in Mr. Holloway's mansion in the 1970's after a performance at the Lakeland Civic Center. Robert Mozingo, and his wife Madeline, purchased the home in 1987. Enamored by Gene's sense of style, especially the Arabian décor in the master bedroom, the socially active family also used the home to entertain guests. When it was purchased from the Mozingos in 2014, the new owners announced plans to replace the storied home with a new structure. Mr. Gregory Fancelli and a few others took action to save and relocate the original, historic portion of the building, known as The Tudor House. As we were getting to know Lakeland and looking at homes for our business, we came across The Tudor and Gregory. After a few discussions about our passion for community, storytelling, preservation, and how we believed the craft of food and drink has the power to unite us all, we became fast friends, and were blessed with the space and opportunity to collectively create Cob & Pen. We are excited our journeys have brought us together. We're excited to welcome everyone into our home where we hope you will take some time to look around, appreciate the craftsmanship and detail of our space, expand your palate as you experience our craft, and expect to enjoy time well spent, as welcomed guests, crafting your story in our home while we carry on The Tudor's tradition to entertain."
"Brought my son and daughter in law who are visiting from Japan and were craving a good burger, food and customer service were excellent and worth coming back!"
