Laur L. "This spot has different dinner deals on certain days of the week. Regardless of what you order, the food is delicious. I loved The Portabello: huge mushroom caps with broiled melty cheese and a side of a vegetable and creamy mashed potatoes. I also loved their Old Fashioned and jalapeño slaw.It gets busy, but that's because it's also a great spot to socialize."

Pamela D. "What a cool lil place. Walk in to a inspired snack shack. Yep imported brands and delicacies from UK. Then approach the bar/to/go check out. On your right a sports bar with all the le futbol sporty decor. To the left a tea time set up. Yes that's right sports bar and tea time all in one place- I'm not done yet. Brewery in back with a stage, set up for events as well as live band nights. They make their own blends of UK driven beer. With all that there is also a patio seating area. Neighborhood secret at its finest! Now to the food -OMG! One of the best shepards pie I've seen (someone else ordered it I saw it walking by) The Brie appetizer will bring me back (again at another table). I got the crab cakes which were perfect crisp bites! I wish I had more than myself there to try it all! Very homely service as it feels and is the back yard bar! Can't wait to return."

Lori B. "We used to visit the Dubliner on Henderson in Citrus Park quite frequently, and have really missed their Irish menu since that location closed. We don't get to South Tampa/SoHo often, so when we ended up in the area late Friday afternoon, we knew where we wanted to stop for drinks & dinner.First, the inside is very small! But it has an old, historic vibe that I love. The bathroom walls were heavily covered in graffiti (which I thought reminiscent of NYC punk bars like CBGB), however, the actual restroom facilities were spotless. As it wasn't dark yet, we decided to sit outside on the patio, and enjoy the pleasant weather. With only a few patrons sitting at the patio bar, and no one at any tables, we weren't sure of the ordering protocol. After nearly 10 minutes of wondering if we needed to order at the bar, a cheery server came over to help us.I'd forgotten the Dubliner only serves beer & wine - no liquor. But our waitress, Jamie, was incredibly helpful in suggesting something on tap that I would enjoy. And I loved my Angry Orchard draft ale (or was it cider?)! Choosing what to eat was more difficult! Although the Dubliner has a small & limited menu, we just couldn't decide.... So we agreed to split a couple of dishes. I ordered the Shepard's Pie, and was NOT disappointed! Perfect balance of meat, vegetables, mashed potatoes & cheese. Hubs ordered the Irish Nachos, and we loved the use of waffle fries instead of tortilla chips. We also split a bowl of Bacon & Potato Soup with toast... I could've made a meal of that deliciousness! Sooo good. We'll definitely be back for more of the Dubliner! I have no idea if this is a true representation of an Irish bar, but I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And we can't wait to try the fish & chips on a return visit... We saw a couple of plates delivered to a neighboring table before we left, and were stunned at the mountain of fried fish! I'd also like to sit at the big, old bar inside, and experience that ambiance."

Faith E. "Stopped in on a whim. It was the first sit-down restaurant we saw when we were in the area in a Monday afternoon on our anniversary. Inside, there's a sign that says to seat yourself, but we couldn't see any other people. We figured it'd be a while before anyone noticed us at our table, but we were wrong! The server came right over, and was super pleasant. The food was all really good! The burger was thick and perfectly cooked. Fries were amazing. The chicken quesadilla was perfect! And the pizza! The pizza is new. Something they're trying, the server said. Well, it's totally my kind of pizza. It's difficult to find a good, tasty thin crust pizza (with crumbled pepperoni and square pieces) in this area. I was so surprised when she sat it down on the table, to see this deliciousness. It is really, so very good. Looking forward to those leftovers. The only knock I have is the drinks; all we got were water and one sweet tea. The water is not great. It's that typical Florida water that some restaurants serve and it is just not tasty. Otherwise, really impressed. We don't live in Plant City, but I can totally see us going back just to eat here."

Allison C. "We had a pretty great experience here on St. Patrick's Day! My boyfriend has come here a few times for lunch and says service is always good and food is good. We went there about 6pm and found the ambiance lively but not overwhelming for dinner and drinks. Live music was playing, but wasn't deafening even when we sat nearby at the bar. It took a minute to get food and drink orders in, but the pricing was a nice change from being gouged and the bartenders were friendly- just kinda had to yell at the bartender for her to take my order at one point. He got the corned beef and cabbage, which tasted heavily of nutmeg or cinnamon perhaps to me but he enjoyed it. Very tender, I just couldn't get past that spice. Maybe clove? I'm not sure. I had hot chicken fries and French fries and was pretty pleased at the homemade quality impression it made with me. Very spicy, nice breading, and had the texture of actual chicken. The biggest downside is you can't take a drink outside to smoke, and the mosquitoes are REAL heavy outside this establishment. I acquired about 15 bites from 20 minutes outside. If you're a smoker, it's worth covering up to come here. We did however meet a group of regulars that were phenomenally friendly and made the experience even better. I think we'll be back, it's a nice small business feel to the place and is worth checking out!"

Sherlonda A. "I really enjoyed this spot. I went after 10 pm on both Friday and Saturday and there was a great DJ who played all the up-to-date music that you most- likely hear on your local pop-culture radio stations. My friends, hubby, and I enjoyed the alcoholic beverages and hookah. We danced, ate, and enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was cool and laid back. They were pleasant and hospitable with great customer service...a mixed crowd that ranged from 21 to 38 years of ageI believe the many times I've been the ladies were free.Unfortunately, there was limited parking but you are allowed to park at the near by store after a certain time.Lastly, my friends and I visited on Halloween; we had a great time!!!."

Christina G. "My husband and I have been driving by this place for 22 years and finally decided to pop in the other night. We said we would stay if they had craft beer and they have one - Jai Alai, so we kept our promise and stayed. The bartender was very apologetic that they didn't have more craft beers. If they did, we would go back often since we live right down the street and the service was good. We had fun. But as dedicated craft beer drinkers, we have to have more of a selection. If "the Ho" gets more taps of good craft beer we'll stop by more often and bring friends. Hey, Gaspar's down the street has a ton of craft beer and that's where we usually end up when we want to stay close to home. Tally Ho is even closer to us so.... *hint *hint"

Carol T. "I went with a group on a Sunday afternoon & we had a lovely experience. I knew the former business that was there, so seeing the transformation was quite shocking. it definitely has an edgy, pub feel. Where we were sitting there's a raised area like a stage, maybe for live music? There's a pool tables and some other games. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our food all came out at the same time. The wings were amazing and probably my most favorite thing was the pub chips. Others in our group had the French dip, salads, and the fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed their food. Definitely will be back to try the flatbreads. Once the word gets out I'm sure 1916 Irish pub will be packed."

Chelsea J. "If you only have one thing here make it the alligator tail bites! They were outstanding. Lightly fried, not too greasy, yummy dipping sauce. The alligator wasn't chewy at all. It was very light tasting and the breading was just right. I had the fish sandwich. Hamma was the fish. The fish was okay but it wasn't my favorite. I had never had hamma before and I don't think I'd order it again. Just not my preference. The fish was blackened nicely, though. To drink I had a strawberry daiquiri and it was delicious. Our server was great. Very personable. We saw a dolphin from the waterfront deck! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Great spot to sit on the water and soak up some rays."

Lori B. "My girlfriends & I have been here a few times over the last year, mostly when it was Uncle Fats. This location is perfect for us because we are coming from Land O'Lakes and Town & Country. Now, it's Tom's Tavern, and they've made some changes. But this is still a fun spot for our casual girls nights!A few caveats: Tom's Tavern has a much smaller menu and no sangria. But we found lots of options on the new menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. I was happy to see they still have tater tots, and my girlfriends enjoyed their wings. Plus our server created a decadent cocktail for one of us with peanut butter whiskey, Bailey's & banana liqueur (a variation of an Elvis shot). We enjoyed tasting the first one so much that all of us ordered it next round! For my meal, I decided on the chicken tenders, which came with either potato salad or cole slaw, and choice of fries or tots. Unfortunately, the potato salad was served in a plastic container smaller than the dipping sauce cups. It was thick & tasty but I'm not sure why the portion size was so tiny! That aside, my tenders & tots were perfectly deep-fried, and I loved the house-made honey mustard & ranch sauces. This bar food is on point! Note, Tom's Tavern is suffering from a slim staff, as so many restaurants are. Luckily we were not in a hurry so we didn't mind. The two servers were definitely hustling all night, working all the tables.Tom's Tavern still hosts outstanding local live music. On our recent Friday night visit, JT Curtis & the Florida Scoundrels took the stage at 9pm for several long sets of mostly country music. This intimate venue is such a fun place to see talented musicians!Of course we'll return to Tom's Tavern. The location is convenient, plus they have tons of parking available in the plaza. The vibe is like a dive bar, but much cleaner & with better music.Edited to add the 5th star... Since posting this review, we have visited again. Service is still not speedy, but our food was delicious and our waitress remembered us & our custom cocktail!"
