"The Honu Is delicious! There is a reason this place has rest reviews because the food is delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian pulled pork sandwich and I didn't leave one crumb. Outside there is a tiki bar with other seating and inside there is a quaint dining area for those who prefer less action. Only minus is I stood outside waiting to be seated for about 8-10 minutes."
"Great place to enjoy a meal on the water with friends, or family or on a date. Good food for a good price. Excellent service. Def going back!"
"Not likely to return. We've lunch there yesterday - Saturday. The location is great, on the Hillsborough River, with plenty boat slips at 1:30pm.It has indoor and covered outdoor areas. We sat out. All tables are for max 8 people, benches with no back support. The service is slow, both drinks and food - got our food exactly an hour later. Our girl is gracious and lovely. The few waiting staff I saw, are young girls who wear tight outfit (not unifform). I would expect them to be sporty but instead, I feel lifeless. I yielded to a tall girl after bathroom. She opened the door and just left. Ok, maybe she was juggling two drinks on the tray ... I would use my body to hold the door for the next person IF my hands are occupied ...The foods: average bar food. I've Little Neck clams, the two pieces of toast are delicious. Chicken wrap is good.As we were leaving, a band came to set it up. One member wore a Brookly NY leather jacket honoring the fallen heroes on Veterans Dat. I asked him if he was from Bly and he replied a big YES -:). Then asked me if I'm from Thailand or Philippine. I replied, Africa."Really?"Really sir. Thanks for these who have served."
"Always a pleasure, dining for lunch or dinner. Service was outstanding, atmosphere was casual and comfortable. Huge plus to find parking on site!! The corn fritters were savory and spicy, the tuna fresh and light, and the fish and chips perfectly crispy."
"Great outdoor bar and dance area outside the conference center. It's coincidently located near the river walk and several your boats. I had the pina colada they sever a variety of alcoholic beverages. Staff were attentive and DJ was awesome. He played several throw backs. The crowd is mid 30s +. It's super chill. You eat dance and relax. I recommend and hope to return. Hope you enjoy as much as I did."
"This place is great! It's like walking in to a British pub. The service and food were fantastic. I want to try everything on the menu. This we be a regular go to for lunch or dinner!"
"Always a great place to see a concert. It's an outdoor venue but the sound is excellent. Air conditioned restrooms as well as selling drinks and food are key advantages over other concert venues. The most challenging thing is when there's bad weather. Even if you are standing in the very back you can see the whole stage."

Friends brought us for our first visit to The Honu. It had just finished pouring down rain, and we had planned to sit outside at the Tiki bar. The tables outside the hut were sopped and the bar full, but when two people got up, staff quickly cleaned up the area and made us welcome, as did the other patrons (regulars?) at the bar. The decor was tropical and had a super fun, Hawaii vibe which was very inviting and really made us feel comfortable. We were just there for drinks, but boy were the fantastic. We had the Mai Tai, Jungle Bird, and Zombie, all of which not only were visually beautiful, but were delicious. Toward the end, our friend ordered a tasting of 4 Rums. The bartender was particularly knowledgeable about all the rums and explained the flavor profiles and reason for her selections for us. Afterwards, she had us sniff test a couple of other rums and explained the background of them. All the staff was super friendly and really knew their drinks. Several people at the bars had ordered food, and it looked truly amazing. We can't wait to go back and try more drinks and their yummy food!

Not going to lie, I was a little hesitant to go here based on reviews but I decided to take a chance and I am honestly glad I did. My husband and I were driving up the coast that day and decided to stop here for lunch. The inside of the restaurant is really beautiful and has tons of windows overlooking the water. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. It was a nice day so we chose to sit out on the patio. Our waitresses was so nice and was quick to get us our drinks and made sure our glasses were always full. She had several suggestions for food and I picked the Shrimp Pesto. The serving size was huge and was very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend stopping here if you happen to be in the area!

It's a good location if you like the water and boats. It's a dive bar more then a restaurant. Unique inside and large outdoor patio seating area.Menu is ok nothing stands out as a wow. The oysters were decent size but the main meal was lackluster and the onion rings and fries lukewarm. Not a great experience at all.Service was good after they finally noticed us sitting at the table.

I've been to Whistle Stop before and I will be happy to point out that not every restaurant is going to be on point every visit. We had a fine time. We were absolutely hungry and we got food. Last time we went, the food was significantly better, but this was fine.Service was good, although the kitchen was incredibly backed up.I should have stuck with bar food, but the seared ahi tuna salad sounded so good. It's rare that I don't love a meal, but this was one of those times. The tuna was fresh and fine, but the rest of the salad was dull and missing some items, and it just didn't hit the spot. Other meals at our table looked (and tasted) much better, including my husband's salad, so I know the food is good and won't negatively review over it. Next time will be better!

Love this place! We stopped in to have a cocktail before we headed back to Palm Harbor. First impression...love that they are dog friendly! We were fascinated by this Weimeraner who clearly knew how to work the bartenders! Drinks were cold, service was great and ambiance...you're overlooking the river/river walk, what more do you need. Looking forward to going back!

Quite a popular spot for a Saturday night! There was a bit of a wait for a table, but we were able to snag a couple of bar seats without the wait.Stuck to the American mule as my cocktail of choice for the night, simple yet effective. They were unfortunately out of the scotch egg, but the bangers and mash finally satisfied my longterm craving for that particular dish. The meal was great, plenty of peas to go with the mash, although the waitress did offer substitutions if peas aren't your thing

I love this outdoor venue for its uniqueness. Right in the middle of downtown, we have this amazing private, yet public, outdoor venue. I've seen quite a few shows here over the past 6 years and have always had a great time. My only complaint (post-Hurricanes Milton/Helene) is that there is a very potent sewer smell coming from the open sewer grates - I have never noticed it before, but it was EXTREMELY noxious at the last concert I attended. I will say that for an outdoor performance venue, the bathrooms have always been pretty clean.Location: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5OVERALL: 5/5

Four dollar quarter pounder American cheese added for free. Grilled, fries OK.. Cold. Pickles taste homemade, a plus Loaded potato skins are not on menu, sitting out too long or undercooked. Good ambience, inside smelled like smokeGood live music

"Came out on "bingo" night. They allowed a local Krewe to host the event at the bar. It was lively, servers were timely, bartender was friendly. It's just what you should expect of a good neighborhood bar and grill. We love this place!"
"We've been trying to get to this hiddden gem for a couple years. It was worth the wait. Spectacular view of Lake Howard (I think). You'll find mainly seafood on the menu, as well as a full bar. We had oysters, boiled shrimp, and fish tacos. We had no issues or complaints. It was all delicious. We sat at the outside bar. The bartenders were helpful and attentive. I recommend sitting outside, weather permitting. Inside is a little dark. More suited for nighttime dining or cocktails. Old Man Frank's was a fun and tasty experience. The next time we're in the area we'll go back."
"Drinks are strong, live music was amazing! We searched and searched for bars with live music and couldn't locate any. Friends invited us and honestly we were reluctant as we thought Crow Bar was a heavy metal only bar. We enjoyed Displace and Speakeasy. Def will be back!"
"Very nice bar and dining area. The bartender was very friendly and proficient. The food menu had a wide variety to choose from, and it was reasonably priced. We already had lunch, but I've heard great reviews about the food. However, It was happy hour - a Miller Lite draft and two Alyssian Space Dusts were over $18. That's pricey."
"After a few long days at a recent conference across the street, this is the place we closed down nightly - food, drinks, beers, shots and on one night we rocked the house karaoke. The staff here was extremely friendly and with that said somewhat efficient, they were almost indistinguishable from the customers, so it was a party every night not just a group of employees waiting tables and tending bar. We had originally picked this spot out of convenience but after one visit it quickly became our dive bar to go after the hotel bar closed to extend the evening. We did enjoy some eats during one early afternoon visit, the bar food sampler, included mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, onion rings and fried pickle spears all delicious. I can definitely recommend this spot if you're staying in the area and want to enjoy a few refreshments and a good time..."
"The new CJ's is a much needed improvement... No smoking!!Went to see a band and had dinner and drinks and was pleasantly surprised. Hamburger and fries were good and priced fairly. Drinks were made and priced for "locals". The place was busy so service started a little slow, but that's ok as they tried hard to keep up. I will be back!"
"Great for a quick beer before a BlueJay game. Great prices. Don't judge this book by it's cover. Its a friendly place to drink. No food."
"No fuss neighborhood bar - locals may take notice of you but are welcoming. Stopped in for a quick bite & wasn't mad about it. Happy hour pricing for drinks and food. Friendly Barkeep pouring and working the whole room deftly. Ordered sliders & they were quite tasty. Music was a mix of country and 80s, I think. No one gave a hard time about my service dog at bar, but on a good day the outdoor seating is available. TVs & lots of happy people with parking. It's not a dive bar, but has that feel. Luckily, this concrete jungle is replete with options if you're not down. I am sure there is an Appleby's or similar nearby. For me, an unexpected side street and recommend to other adventurers."
