"I haven't been to MD Oriental Market in a very long time. I would visit every now and then to look for medicinal teas, produce, and spices. I actually stopped going because at one time the odor from the fish market permeated throughout the store and was too overpowering for me. It seemed a little better this time. Maybe because I had my mask on, or maybe they have a better ventilation system. It seemed more confined to the fish market corner this time so my experience today was much better. They do have fresh fish if that's your thing. Many live sea creatures in fish tanks which is great. It's a very popular place to shop for all things Asian. They really do have a huge selection, and it's great that they also have a hot food area in the back. It all looked great. I also noticed they had many different Asian buns with different fillings as well. The aisles are very organized with clear signage. Everything is spread out. They only had one flavor (dark green tea) of Japanese KitKat bars today, but I think there is a shortage right now. I did find a few Filipino candies and some wafers that I wanted to try. The cashier was very nice and friendly. I'd go back again if I can't find what I need at the Asian market that is closer to me. I also want to try some of the wonderful food from the hot bar. It all looked really good."
"I stumbled upon the Phoenicia Market this afternoon. I'm delighted to say that I'll be coming back. The owner is absolutely fabulous. I tried a fresh made spinach pie and it was glorious. I was looking for haloumi cheese which you cannot find anywhere in the Tampa area. Not only did they have it in stock it was at a very rational price. I also bought some fresh made hummus. It also is completely delicious. The prices are great, the food is delicious and the service was outstanding. I can't wait to come back for some fresh falafel."
"In search of some pork bone broth for my hot pot, I wander into New Golden Sparkling Supermarket. The initial impression upon walking in is that this market seems small. The aisles are not deep and I was giving up hope that I would not find my broth, but upon walking around the corner, I realize that this "market" used retail space repurposed from several stores in a strip mall. You turn the corner and see that the market is "long" but not deep.It was amusing to see the way they neatly arranged all the fruit... this market does seem "sparkling".I was able to find my pork broth, so thumbs up."
"One of the few oriental grocery that open during pandemic. Mainly Vietnamese customers are visiting this store. Most food are also gear for Vietnamese food. The store is kind of strange. It link to jewelry store next door. The items are not as complete compare to larger grocery store. But is it convenient for the local to pick up item they need. Aisle is a bit narrow to save space for more good to display. The munchies aisle is limited. I could not find the items I like. Selection of item is good enough for you to cook a meal."
"My sister kept telling me about this place where she got amazing food, and there was a line out the door and around the corner. She couldn't remember the name or how to get there...only that the food was very inexpensive, amazingly delicious, and everyone was incredibly polite and friendly to her. When she finally recalled that the place was called Super Saver, I thought she'd lost her mind. But here we are, and she was right!Part grocery store, part cafeteria takeout counter, all fantastic Latin fare. The prices are pretty amazing. Everyone is friendly. very limited seating, but everything is packaged for take out. The avocado salad was amazing, and the roast pork was pretty good. I went back in the late afternoon a few days later and got the last piece of some sort of baked chicken, for less than $3, and it was soooooo delicious. If they served dinner, I would stop there 2-3 nights a week on my way home. They serve breakfast and lunch...get there early."
"Came here on a mission to pick up lunch at Dosi Rak. It was my first time, & I was quite impressed with all of the Korean selection. The male working was very nice and pointed me in the direction of Dosi Rak. I ordered food there, & came back to scope all the diff food and goodies at this market.I'm not sure about the prices but many of it I have seen at other markets. I didn't buy anything at the market but it was nice to check it out."
"I was very impressed with the Brazil Food Market. I'm not sure how they managed to have a grocery store, bakery, butcher and restaurant all in one small space but they did. I was not greeted when I entered the store, at the meat counter or the restaurant. I received no acknowledgement from any employee during my entire visit. I stopped in to purchase some empanadas. Unfortunately my timing was off and they did not have the ones that I wanted in the restaurant area. The restaurant does not serve frozen or premade items so I knew that this may happen. There was a large amount of imported dry and frozen goods. I scanned the isles and found some hot peppers and cookies that I like. The meat looked very fresh and there was very limited produce available."
"I used to come here religiously, every day, for their hot food! Only problem is that by my lunch hour, the food was almost gone. They have authentic Latin food, more specifically traditional Dominican food. I come from Orlando, where there is a large population of Hispanics, so bodegas that provide Latin food are ubiquitous - the same cannot be said for St. Pete. When I found this place I was elated, because it was only two blocks down from where I lived.Aside from their food, they have fresh produce, a meat section, and other groceries that are reasonably priced. It's a small area but has a huge selection to choose from. Stop by and have some of their food. You won't regret it!"
"Gigi is so wonderful! She's very friendly and helpful. We live in Winter Haven, and we have an asian market in WH, but I just adore Gigi so much that we drive to her store. And she has the shirataki noodles I've been looking for! What a great little store. I get a lot of really good ramen here too. She sells a little bit of everything, I love that she has hot pot stuff too. There's even bulgogi meat, rice, candies, cookware, frozen dumplings, kimchi. Please give her business, she deserves it!"
"Interested in visiting a huge, spotless and complete Middle Eastern market hidden on eastern Fowler? This is THE spot! Wow!I was overwhelmed by the incredible amount of imported and locally baked goods in this grocery store. Meat? Bread? Vegetables? Fruit? Grains? Pasta? Canned goods? Spices? Everything is here in a spacious place. I met Aya, the kind lady behind the counter. We chatted and she kindly explained her name means two things in Arabic... the most beautiful one and a verse of the Koran! Thanks Aya for the beautiful conversation!Life is good with a new international grocery store in Tampa!"
"This is a shack of a produce market and some canned goods n dry goods. But the star of the show are the insane prices on produce that is on its last legs. You have to pick n choose but whoa!!! Good stuff and you can get a fresh (green coconut) with a straw in it for $3 (hence the name coco frio, cold coconut). And they will cut it open after your drink the coconut qater so you can eat out the soft white flesh at home with a metal soon. Lovely lil hole n the wall with friendly peeps for those who as are all about keepin it fresh n don't care about anything fancy."
"The best Italians always find their way to the Gulf Coast--just like Josephine's Italian Market in Brandon, Florida, where I recently visited with my Italian mother.Step inside, and you're instantly surrounded by authentic Italian flavors passed down through generations. From overnight-shipped Italian market imports to fresh eggplant parm, handmade ravioli by Pastosa, Tony Fig's famous sausages, delicious D'Agostino baked goods and the creamiest cappuccino you'll ever taste--it's a true taste of Italy.Owner Robby and his brother Jason keep the traditions alive, while their mom Elaine brings the warmth--just like Josephine would have wanted. And whatever you do--don't leave without the limoncello cheesecake. Trust me. Even if you think you are not a fan! And if you're a fan of A Bronx Tale, you'll want to grab your own Eddie Mush sandwich.Go hungry, leave happy."

It's called Oriental Market, but it's only Japanese items. The one thing I wanted was barley tea and they didn't have it... so I bought soju instead. I've been eager to try this alcohol. Beyond that, tons of shrimp and eel.

One of my favorite Asian grocery stores in orlando. They have great meat and sea food selection and doesn't smell weird. It's huge inside. Also has my favorite drinks and snacks from Taiwan. Has great vegetable and fruit selection too at great prices. I can only find the right dumpling wrapper at this store too. Cashiers are efficient.

I had been looking for new Asian Market when my friend told me about this location. The store is large and even has a jewelry store and a home goods store located inside of it! So when I say they have an incredible selection, I'm not kidding. Since my husband is a fan of Ramen, I was able to over indulge him for the Holidays and get him a ton of flavors I wasn't aware of. He was happy! I will certainly come back here in the future!

This place is one of your typical Latin American supermarkets that carries a large selection of Latino grocery food items you cannot find at larger grocery stores. The plantains are cheaper here, and you can find specific cuts of meat for your Latino dishes. By the looks of it, you wouldn't think there was much to this supermarket. It's at the corner of a plaza among all the other plazas on Fletcher. But this particular supermarket has a small "restaurant" inside! Take notice of the food station directly in front of you as you walk in the front doors. This is where you go first- don't even think twice about it.I've been here on 3 separate occasions, two of which were for breakfast. This is my place to go for Mangu, a traditional Dominican breakfast of mashed up boiled green plantains. It's super filling and tasty, always leaving me so full throughout the day that I often forget to eat lunch. Mangu is typically served with fried salami, fried cheese, eggs, red onions sauteed in apple cider vinegar, and/or avocado. Take your pick of what you want to dress the mangu. They have all the fixins' here. I get mine with everything: salami, cheese, scrambled eggs, and onions on top. They are very kind with their serving sizes... $4.25 usually gets me a heavy to-go container of my mangu special. The other time I visited was for lunch. I ordered the pernil (roast pork) and it was so juicy and delicious... I ate a quarter of it on the way home and still had plenty left over for dinner for two and lunch the next day. Absolutely wonderful. You'll see lots of different types of people in here on their way to work, picking up breakfast or lunch to-go. Make sure to visit early in the day if you want the good stuff for breakfast. Once they run out, they run out! Also, be advised that you cannot pay with a credit card if your purchase is under $5. However, you can use a debit card for purchases under $5.

A-Green Supermarket is specifically a Korean grocery located on Fletcher, in the plaza next door to the famous Ho Ho Choy. Their prices are not that great and they do not have much of a selection of fresh items. Last time I was there, their freezer was broken and food was thawing out. Really sad.Aside from that, I come here for very specific items:1. Japanese snacks, that cost the same as they do in Japan at the local Don Quijote. For example: Kracie Poppin Cookin kits, which will change your life. Also, bento box accessories that you cannot find anywhere else in Tampa Bay, and pre-made Japanese curry packs, like Pokemon curry.2. Korean snacks that you can only find at the GS25 or Korean 711. For example: Yakult gummies and other yummy items.3. Little Sheep Hotpot branded mala soup bases.

Came back a second time already (the next day). The barbecue meat is so good. I tried a passion fruit juice drink....delicious. Everything here is good!OMG! The food here is delicious! I stopped in to get takeout from the buffet. There were plantains, beef (picanha?), chicken and fish, black beans, twoKinds of rice and more.I had some fresh cashew juice. It was really good. I was told the juice cones from a fruit that grows just below the cashew. I highly recommend it!

I love this place. It just brings back so many wonderful memories as a child going to a Cuban store but they butcher market and getting fresh food made there looked like it was great fully stocked which was impressive. Service was great. Everybody was very nice and helpful and welcome to the neighborhood side Store is typical small little store not the biggest amount of fruits and vegetables but if you're looking for Caribbean tropical fruit and veggies, it is probably a place for you to come and get them and the meat look pretty good so I've eaten there a couple times the food is great. The empanadas are amazing the morning, I just love how they have each day that was nice special.

"It was my first time driving 20 miles to try Taaza and I totally enjoyed it. It's more spacious and organized than Patel Bros but I think I made a mistake coming at 5pm on a Saturday. It was totally packed! I parked very far away but I like to walk. I also got the second to last available shopping cart!I found every ingredient we needed for our first attempt to make daal! We also tried prepared veggie samosas, veggie biryani, some other triangular veggie appetizer thingies, chicken biryani and some interesting daal. Everything was very well seasoned and delicious and very affordable!Best of all, since I was clearly out of place and a bit lost, several kind shoppers went out of their way to help. Plus, all the staff were helpful and several asked if I was enjoying the shopping experience. I did!We have a ton of food tonight and everything came with chutney, raita and other sauces that are delicious but I don't know the name!Life is good with amazing Indian food both prepared and homemade!"
"My son showed me this little shop in Brandon. In Seattle I used to frequent a giant market called Uwajimaya's so I was excited to do some shopping. The store is clean , a bit cluttered, but quaint. There is a section for sauces, dry goods, produce and frozen items in the first section. You can buy some things you can experience for the first time such as sodas and candies or get some savory items. ( They also have frozen whole fish in the case if you are looking for seafood.)There is a little walkway to the back section and there are more treasures to explore. They have rice cookers, bamboo steamers and other gadgets for purchase in this section as well as a variety of rice from different farms and a case with prepared foods like dim sums. Their spice selection is limited and and similar to Publix however I was able to find a small packet of Saffron for a good price. For the area, and based on other options around me, I give 4 stars to this little hidden store off Paul's road in Brandon.."
"I really love this Asian Grocery, everyone is so friendly here, the service is tops. The first time I came in, I bought an adorable little bamboo plant. The Asian lady that sold it to me, we had a lovely conversation about bamboo plants & several other topics. Just the most beautiful, kind & super sweet human. The second time I came I got some food off the hot deli. "You can Pick 3 items." The food is very good & a great value. There is a little self serve "dine in" cafe room "The Black Dragon" where you can sit & eat. The servers in the hot deli are even more fabulous. Moi had a long long conversation about all the foods with them. They don't have chicken wings every day. Just some days. And it's random, so you just have to check daily if you want chicken wings. And they are freakin delicious. The giant fried prawns are amazeballs also. The other thing that they have on the hot deli that I love is the Hot & Sour soup. Theirs has mushrooms, tofu & black fungus in it. Fabulous :)...And of course they have the Chinese roasted duck, crispy pork belly & chinese BBQ pork. They are all incredible but the duck they sell here is amazeballs. I eat a lot of duck, make a lot of duck also but I eat a lot of Chinese Duck from the markets, Dallas, OKC, Pensacola, none of them compare to the Roasted Duck here. The Duck here is A MUST ORDER. Amazeballs. You must try the Roasted Duck here. The bad news is, the store has a slight foul odor, as per the fresh seafood area & the Sushi bar here sucks. The sushi they sell here is not my jam. Sorry, but the menu sucks. They don't even have a simple Avocado roll, salmon skin roll on the menu or a simple yellowtail roll. Womp Womp. Skip the Sushi :( However, this well stocked Asian Grocery store does have all the fresh asian veggies, asian greens, sprouts, noods, everything you need to whip up Asian foods, they even have 2 whole isles full of Asian cooking pots, tools, dishes, chopsticks etc., When I was there last, I wanted to purchase some new wood chopsticks & even though I can speak some Chinese I can't read it, so I asked the Asian lady at the front to translate the package for moi, as I was looking for real wood chopsticks not plastic or colored/dyed ones. Anyhoo, she took her time, was very patient, we read over a couple packs till we found the real wood ones that I wanted. She even ask a couple other ladies to translate it also to make sure we got the correct ones. Every time I have been here the service has been just incredible! Which brings me to why I'm writing this review in the first place. Over the weekend, I was in the store looking for stuff when I left my car keys somewhere in the store. I ran around looking for them, couldn't find them, so I went up to the ladies that helped me with the chopsticks, deli foods, bamboo plants etc., They quickly start talking together & she says, "oh yes, we have your keys" and she waves me over to the service desk where the other lady that helped me has them in her hands waving at me smiling with the biggest lovely smile. "Thank You so very much for the incredible service, finding my keys, helping me pick the baby bamboo, helping me get the right chopsticks. Thank you for your true kindness & over the top service. I really appreciate you."Will Return. Recommend."
"I ate at the new Rokka's Market at 7720 Turkey Lake Rd. in Orlando. It was spectacular! Beautiful dining area, lush & fully stocked buffet with every kind of delicious food imaginable, and incredibly hospitable staff. They weighed the plate at the register to determine the cost. First time eating there, but won't be my last time!"
"Great selection of both Caribbean products as well as standard grocery items on West Colonial Drive. I love places like this where I can get those hard to find items that are staples in both my fridge and my pantry, not to mention finding something that I never tried before (this time it was a hot sauce from Barbados).Check this place out and find something new to try. Go on a culinary adventure. You will be the better for it."
"This locally owned convenient store/Halal market. You can get your typical lunch sandwich with roast beef or you can get falafel and a sweet or non-sweet pastrie, but at 1pm is when you can start finding the main entrees like Biryani.I got here a little too early for the entrees, but the Falafel I ordered was hot, fresh and delicious. I also added a cheese pastrie that was equally as good. The owner, Abraham helped me to some samples of foods I didn't have before and made suggestions when I didn't know what to get because it was my first time here. This is a very friendly spot and houses some fresh foods and possibly some new ones for you to try if you are up for it."
"This review is strictly for the food, as I've only had it when my husband picks some up on his way home. It is seriously delicious! Their chicharron is melt-in your-mouth good. Tamales are delicious too. All their food is out of this world. You'll need a nap afterwards!"
"Little market off W Hillsborough Avenue. It's a busy road, in a small shopping plaza by a loan center place. TV staff helpful and friendly. The Kimbap, kimchi mandoo and the japchae were packed, fresh and ready to eat. Found them on the counter and shelf across from the counter, by the frozen section. There have cut kimchi, but had a small plastic jar, may be more than we can eat this weekend. Kimchi is a must with Kimbap and Korean food for me. The Kimbap isn't too bad, a bit too much rice in the roll, but still tastes good. We used the leftover sauce form our tteokbokki at lunch to dip the Kimbap. The japchae may have been better or more flavorful when it was made, I should have known the kimchi mandoo was filled with kimchi and pork, not just pork. My husband ended up having to eat the rest. The kimchi is spicy and flavorful."
"This is a wonderful large Asian grocery store. The seafood department is awesome with very reasonable prices. I am a big fan of the Pompano, which I grill. They have a great bakery and food court as well, and a huge selection of Asian produce. This is now one of my regular grocery stops every week."
"Cute place! We actually were stopping for subway, but thought I would grab cafe con leche, and ended up eating here instead.Food was good and filling, but the best part for me was the music! So fun!The store offers staple items and seasonings. There is also a hot food bar.Great place for me to practice Espanol."
"What a great little market. Has something for everyone. There is an amazing coffee bar to sit at, the eclairs are imported from Italy and the best I ever had. Don't sleep on this market. Stop in you won't be disappointed. Ask for Vinny the Italian wine expert. He picked an amazing bottle of wine for me and dropped some knowledge about the grapes and the region the wine came from. Really great experience coming in this place on a Sunday afternoon. I'll be back very soon."
"Who knew when tumeric became a household word, it would become impossible to locate. This Chinese market is as authentic as it gets in the US. Located off 19, heading towards Tarpon, it is on the West side of the road. From the outside, it looks like it could be anything, except a chineese grocery. They have a huge assortment of foods, spices, condiments, cookware....you name it. The Matcha tea I have been looking for, several kinds. Tumeric, oh yeah, as well as other dried, fresh & frozen herbs. This shop is a cornucopia of most all your Chinese cooking needs. The owners are very helpful. I have a vague idea what I want & they can put it together for me. This is a little gem, hiding out in New Port Richey. I was amazed this city had such a grea & authentic specialty store. What's a girl to do? When you move, ask where to find specialty stores & items."
"Allahu Akbar!!! God is great. This bakery and grocery store has fresh out of the oven baked goods, sweets, dates, jute leaves (also known as Jews Mellow), lots of mild white cheeses and cheese spreads, bulgur, and fava beans. It has very authentic Middle Eastern foods and customs. The friendly hosts allowed me and my to try some things. Very tasty. If you are unfamiliar with this type of food I recommend the giant pitas (bigger is better, just ask my wife) and any of the fresh bakery goods and desserts, Armenian string cheese, lebaneh a white spread a bit thicker than sour cream, honey with nuts, dates, nuts, seeds, couscous and the milky drink which is mint flavored with green on the label. Inshallah I will return soon."
"This place was ok. I saw mold on a cheese that shouldn't have mold on. I'd recommend going to Clearwater euro food and deli, that one was better."
"This is a Mexican grocery store with a limited selection of produce, meats, sodas, and other items. It's very indie and hole-in-the-wall if that's your thing. Meat cuts here are for traditional Mexican dishes. A food truck was outside when I was there serving up what looked like quite authentic and tasty Mexican fare. Tom's Diner is a stone's throw away in this countryish outside of town section of Lakeland. Fun for an adventure."
"Best place in north Pinellas to get fresh baked pita bread and Mediterranean goods. The owner is very friendly and informative."
"An amazing supermarket to visit with an amazing selection of produce, fresh vegetables and meat. The supermarket is amazing and sells different products along with kitchen utensils which are good in quality. The staff was friendly and helpful with all the requests that we had. Oceanic has a fantastic selection of foods and products from all over Asia."
"At the store, you're gonna find a good variety of Greek wines, beers, food like pasta, olives, spices, and more!!The prices are great and this was my first time here since I came to Tarpon Springs. If you decide to come to this place make sure you park in one of the public parking lots there is here on Tarpon Springs."
"You can come to sultan to get any of your middle eastern products which is wonderful. They have a variety of items there, customer service is outstanding. I went probably 2-3 times and it was really nice to see how great the staff were. I highly recommend it and will definitely return soon to get more items"
"I finally made it out to Apna Bazaar and it was a real treat! It is a large market stocked with lots and lots of goodies from Pakistan, Turkey, U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, and the United States. They specialize in the cuisine of Muslim areas and have Halal offerings prepared in accordance with religious rules. The had a guy taking Turkish bread fresh out of the oven and a Pakistan i/ Indian restaurant in the front. They have loads of snacks and spices. Cooking utensils. Beverages including non-alcoholic brews. Sweets such as date and coconut cookies.I saw camel milk which seeks interesting. Lots of cheeses. Milk beverages (the mint is rich and creamy). People were friendly and accommodating to me. I know their is a sizable international community at USF and there are lots of international food grocers and eateries in this area on Fowler. MD Market is a couple blocks away for Chinese / Taiwanese and East Asian foods. Patel Brothers for Indian is across the street. There is a Korean Grocer and lots of ethnic restaurants in the area.I had lots of fun visiting and found lots of things to try at reasonable prices. I wonder if they have Turkish cotton candy? Don't try it or you'll be hooked. Armenian / Syrian string cheese is great too.I will be back!!!"
"My family was in Saint Petersburg for a wedding and happened upon this roti shop. This is a humble little spot with big flavors. My family got the jerk, chicken, chicken, curry, potato, curry, and some doubles. The nice gentleman at the counter let us know that it will take some time because everything is cook to order. We were happy to wait. Our food came out piping hot and delicious. Everything was tasty and fresh and the roti was soft and wonderful. The doubles were full of flavor and the tamarind sauce was nice on the side . We washed down with some ginger beer. With our belly full, we laughed, and then I realized I left my purse. There I called, and the nice gentleman at the counter answer the phone, remember, my name, and held my purse for me until I came back. We really we're happy to find this place and enjoyed the delicious food and wonderful service will absolutely be back when we are in Saint Pete."
"This is a chain grocery that began in NY. This particular one is a Latino store full of specialty and grocery items. It also has a two table "bistro" seating at the bakery and a separate room for cafeteria style Latin steam bins of hot meals by the plate. The walls advertise "Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto RIco" and the like. Prices are fairly good everywhere, however, knowing typical pricing is helpful. For example besitos or coconut kisses (macaroons) at the bakery are $2 when they are .75 in other bakeries. It is worth your stroll through (it is in a "food dessert" area and there is a significant homeless population in the area). English does not seem to be the first language in this store. The ready to go foods look good and I'm hopeful it's a new Lakeland Treasure (It replaces a Bravo Supermarket)"
"Saigon Marketplace is an Asian market that is owned by the folks at Saigon Deli , just a hop, skip, and jump away in the same plaza.Once you enter , you can tell by the smell that it is an ethnic place. They have prepackaged snacks and candies towards the front and produce and frozen meat/fish towards the back. It is smaller than some of the Indian groceries I've been to, but they do have a wide range of stuff. They have items from different Asian countries like kimchi, Thai snacks, etc which is nice.As Megan-Joy stated in her review, there is no credit card minimum because I bought 2 items for $3 and the transaction went through. I was curious to see if they had any fresh jackfruit since someone posted a picture on Yelp but it was for naught. This is a nice location for Carrolwood folks and wanting to get stuff after eating at SD. I dont know how good that snack in my picture is because I bought it for my parents lol."
