We recently ordered catering for my son's birthday, and the penne vodka, spaghetti and meatballs were absolutely delectable. I would easily rate this place as a 5-star plus establishment. Having dined at some of the finest Italian restaurants along the northeast coast I'm from New York, I can confidently say that this spot ranks among the best. Fun here starts with wonderful service - spearheaded by Aspyn and Parker. Both are very personable and customer-centric! They just do a great job of welcoming you in and taking care of you. Phila Deli's Cheesesteak sets itself apart by using the authentic Amorosa Roll shipped straight in from Philly. Their steak and cheese is a generous serving and yet balanced nicely to enjoy both bun and contents. Couldn't do a review without a shout out on the Hand Cut fries - skin on deliciousness abounds! I've enjoyed the Croque Madame and it too is delicious. So come on in, ask for Aspyn or Parker and get ready for a Cheesesteak worthy of Philly right here in Tierra Verde!"

I adore Turkish foods and was happily surprised to find Salgam, which is a tasty (if acquired taste) and harder to find pickled Carrot Juice. They have a prepared foods section of Mediterranean food including baklava and Shawarma sandwiches, which are healthier and still very affordable for foods to go! None of the food made here is FAST. It's all just high quality ingredients that take time to make! Owners are super friendly and more than happy to make recommendation based on your level of "experimentation" around learning about the products they sell."

Gina M. "Excellent on all fronts. Don't let the convenience store curb appeal deter you. It has a surprise for you on the back deck. My husband and I chose seats on the patio. It was 74 degrees at 10 am (January) and half the patio was in the sun and the rest was in the shade. The breeze was just enough to roll a straw off the table or blow away an untucked napkin, but we adjusted and really enjoy watching birds dive into the water looking for their breakfast. Tammy was our delightful and appreciative server. My choice was the Western Omelette - perfect portion and cooked well. It came with hash browns when were clearly homemade. Crispy and yet soft and yummy when you cut into it. My husband chose the Corn beef Hash. The meat was excellent, as I would expect for a small hole in the wall-like shop with an exceptional deli!! Perhaps my favorite part was the music-- Kansas, ELO, some of the best oldies easy listening around"

We've tried the corned beef and pastrami and really enjoyed both. They have great lox and the lox bagel salad is delicious so I imagine the bagel is on point, too. There's a salmon pastrami sandwich, made with Nova smoked salmon with pastrami spices, and while it's not traditional it's excellent. We also love a lot of the other sandwiches- all are fresh with thoughtful flavor combos. I'm particularly partial to the Raymond (rare roast beef, caramelized onions and bleu cheese) and the Maximo tuna melt. The sides aren't quite as good as the amazing sandwiches, but they do the trick. The macaroni salad is heavy on celery salt for my taste but both flavors of potato salad are good and it's cool they make their potato chips in house.I'm a regular for takeout/delivery (they're on Grubhub)."

Best jerk chicken in Tampa & complimentary water ice.We first tried island crew back when it was a food truck & I am so thankful they are still sharing this amazing food now at a new more permanent location. We drove 40mins to have dinner here tonight & it was so worth it. Solid portion size & super friendly service. Plenty of vegan options & the flavors are unmatched. Spicy jerk chicken & Cajun rice with cabbage, yummm. My husband had the chicken curry with red beans & rice, I of course tried it & man, it was so good. Parking can be limited as it's a popular dining option on a Saturday night, but do not let that deter you. It's a must try!!! This food smelled so good we couldn't even wait to take a picture before digging in."

We each had the charbroiled cheddar cheese burger with lettuce & mayonnaise. It was as good as or better than what Husband makes at home - and I thought his were the best! The fries are also very tasty. Inside there are two low tables, and three high tops. You can also sit at a high bar area, looking out at Klosterman road. Against the back wall are cold alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks in a cooler. A variety of wines is on another wall. The store is tiny but filled up with plenty choice of dry goods and frozen food. There is also a deli section that sells fresh sandwich pairs with a small salad, made to order or prepacked. Price is reasonable. Owner and staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty parking outside. Let me say that the owner is definitely a sandwich wizard! He uses unique creative combinations of meats, breads and sandwich spreads/ toppings to make what could be just a boring sandwich shop SOOOO good! The gourmet in the name is 100% true. First a warning: is his portions are very generous! We ordered the French Candy Sandwich and the Cuban. And between my husband and I, we couldn't finish either because we were stuffed! The French Candy is the one that peaked my interest on yelp and it didn't disappoint. Huge sandwich! See my photo. Cuban was good too. Second warning: the ambience is NOT fancy. My joke with my hubby is that you can tell a man "decorated" the place :-) But trust me, that man can make a mean sandwich and he's nice to boot!! Will definitely be coming back and spreading the word on this place."

Tom D. "I hate to do it but I have to knock these guys down a notch. This will be my one and only with them and believe me I do not like giving 1-2 stars however observations from today must go on all the time. A 2 to me is below average and this was. Inside decor I really could care less about for a "deli" so the mafia posters, old tv, dusty wall near the Coke machine and pink tables did not deduct a point. When I entered there was one customer the owner was bantering with (the only customer) After a few minutes of not being acknowledged I finally realized where a menu was which was taped to the counter. I ordered a pressed Italian steamroller. Got my money out and he never said another word. Never took my money. Never told me to take a seat. Guessing they would start my sub and get the money I decided I guess you pay after and sat down. A few more minutes went by and a nice lady ( believe the owners wife ) provided me said sub. If the sub did not have the oil lettuce banana peppers etc it would have been so dried out that you would not have been able to bite through the bread. Luckily the large amount of oil rehydrated half of the crouton I was biting into. Since there was never mention or offer of a drink you can imagine it was not an enjoyable experience. They purchase boars head brand meats like most local delis bread was not good for a press it should have been wrapped in foil to keep hydrated absolutely nothing special about this sub that one could not make in their own oven much better. While half way through I was about to get up and nine fireman (thank you for your service) came in. So now I have to wait for these guys to order before I can pay. It's not like I wanted to start a tab and possibly order another sub. This is beyond aggravating. Then as I am waiting to pay the owner shouts to the lady what did this guy get so he knows how much to charge me? You took my order. Ring me up right then. Or ask me what I ordered. Trust me I am not trying to sneak one by the local sub shop. A few other observations. A couple came in after me one ordered a tuna sub. She was asked if she could wait or order something different as they did not make the tuna yet. Glad to see they make their own but it is 11:55 and you service a lunch crowd. Of the nine fireman they ordered 4 Cubans and 5 steamrollers. Took the owner a few extra minutes to figure that out before I was allowed to finally get up and pay. They seem to have a following. Seem to get a lot of call aheads. So I am not trying to shut the place down I just did it enjoy one bit of my experience perhaps someone else will have a different one but I am not willing to try a second shot."

In fact, I would say most of the canned goods were middle eastern and Indian with a little bit of Hispanic and Thai thrown in the mix. What I didn't see were a lot of Euro and Mediterranean goods, but that's okay since the store one street over has that on lock down.Lots of spices here! I frequently make chili, so I stocked up on some bulk cumin and chili powder, but there were tons of spices I couldn't even pronounce. The deli is a little lacking in terms of types of meats, but they have the essentials, and they're Boar's Head. I ordered up a pressed 12" Italian sandwich, which George behind the counter exclaimed is their claim-to-fame. It was delicious as all get out, but I'm ordering a smaller one next time. It's been 7 hours and I'm still to full to think about food. They do have Cuban sandwiches, but just be aware that they do not use authentic Cuban bread.
