"Came in for lunch with my mother and she got the steak sandwich and I got the Cuban sandwich and I have to say her sandwich was far superior to mine. Not to say that my sandwich was bad just liked her sandwich much better. I will say they have the best desserts! We received our sandwiches in a timely manner. Always enjoy visiting Moreno's Bakery."
"Consistently delicious. We came here straight from the airport (FL is our home). We were craving margaritas & good food. We were not let down. The chips were served warm with salsa, very good!I had the salmon plank, gluten-free with mixed vegetables. Delicious!!! Salmon cooked perfectly, moist not dry. My hubby had his usual (puntas de filet) an off menu item that is a ol fan favorite from back in the days. The service was outstanding, very accommodating and kind. Price is reasonable and my margarita hit the spot.Ambiance - upscale casual Mexican. We highly recommend"

"Always a fresh choice of sweet treats and the cafe con letche is on point. We enjoyed two different sandwiches, very tasty"
"If you're following because you're gluten-free, then turn your head away from this review. I have gluten-sensitivity (not Celiac Disease) so I can occasionally have gluten with the help of digestive enzymes.I have only had Cuban sandwiches from West Tampa Sandwich when coworkers picked up lunch for my department. So this review is solely for the Cuban sandwiches. I can't say if this is the best Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Bay. It's up there though. I can't say much on the service or Ambiance because I was never at their restaurant. The Cuban bread is perfectly toasted on the outside and filled nicely with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, mayo, mustard, lettuce and tomato. In pretty sure there are more ingredients in this Cuban sandwich than the original version, but it works. Plus, I'm all for sneaking in veggies whenever possible."
"Mamey flan, coquito flan, empanadasLove this placeThe flags taste exactly like the flavor they advertise. The staff is so sweet and now they have more space!I'm so happy to see them growing!"
"Talk about an amazing cuban sandwich! I loved everything about it. The bread was toasted to perfection. The meat to cheese ratio was great and the taste was outstanding. Also don't sleep on their french toast. It was very delicious! They give you syrup and a side of guava sauce. The staff was very welcoming and had great recommendations. I will be returning for another cuban sandwich and cafe con Leche."
"I stopped in for a quick lunch during our conference. I have been in the past and enjoyed the 1905 salad and wanted to give it another try. I sat at the bar and had great conversation with the bartender. I love the ambience of the restaurant with it being an outside feel even on a slightly chilly day."
"The Benny Cubano was so good that I came back after having it a year ago. I got the media noche which has sweeter bread and it was just as good. Enjoyed the cafe con leche as well!"
"We had such a great experience at this family owned place. The ladies were so wonderful despite huge line. And the food was very good. I love they offer vegan options, you can either go with the 3 side vegetarian meal and select items that are vegan or go with their vegan wrap. I went with the wrap and it was very good but very filling, I was able to eat only half of it. Note that the sauce it comes with is NOT VEGAN.I also got the yucca with mojo sauce. My husband had the ropa vieja with white rice and black beans. He also tried the fried sides stuffed potato. He loved everything he had. I had a taste of his black beans and they were delicious! They also brought a freshly toasted cuban bread to the table. Overall it was a very nice experience and we'd love to come back."
"After a few drinks at 3 Daughters, we were getting a little hungry so we decided to take a short walk to the Floribbean. Here's my take on the experience:Quality of food: Good. You get to pick 3 sides to make a bowl or you can go with their signature bowls. We tried two of their signature bowls: Island Umami and the Yardbird. The Island Umami comes with smoked paprika chicken, coconut rice, chipotle sweet potatoes, sweet plantains, and miso sauce. The Yardbird has basically the same ingredients except for black beans instead of sweet potatoes and Jerk aioli instead of miso sauce. Both bowls were absolutely bursting with flavors and the portion size was huge! I would suggest splitting a bowl with someone next time especially because that coconut rice is super filling.Décor: kinda cool but could use more. They had a couple of little hula girl decorations made out of coconut. There wasn't much besides that other than the tables were also colorful.Cleanliness: okay. The tables were being kept mostly clean.Service: okay. The person taking the order was also the one that would create your bowl. They only had two people working on a Saturday night and both looked super tired and stressed.Price: reasonable. The bowls cost around $12 but the portion size is huge.If you're up for some healthy-ish food that's a little different than the usual then checkout The Floribbean."
"When Ybor City you gotta have a Cuban Sandwich! We found Carmine's. The place has history. Is huge with a comfortable bar.We bellied up starving and thirsty. We waited and waited. Finally the bartender stopped by and dropped menus turned on his heels and he was off to win the came to continue a conversation with bar patrons. No offer of drinks just menus. So we waited again.. finally another stop. We each ordered local beers and then he forgot to pour as he was off to see the bar patrons. A glance caused him to remember.. finally beers. Seizing the moment we each ordered their famous Cuban Sandwich. The sandwich arrived and did not disappoint however the prep time was long and our beers were getting low. The bar patrons were getting louder and the bartender was an instigator. So no 2nd beers for us.3 stars for food1 star for food runner0stars for bartender"
"I came here to try some dessert. I ordered two flans which were 6 dollars a piece. They tasted great but were fairly small for the price. They seemed to be running low on other dessert so that will have to wait till next time. Easy parking and in a great location with a good amount of seating. Unsure of the recent closures as I had tried to visit a few times before last year but the timing listed wasn't matching the opening. I believe this may be figured out now so this is definitely worth trying"

I haven't been to Moreno's forever and forgotten how wonderful it is. They have everything from lite bites to thee most incredible desserts. I went Friday evening, sadly on a partially full stomach. My eyes wanted to try everything, but my stomach settled on chicken noodle soup and a chicken empanada. O M G, it was the right choice and more than filling. The soup was thick and hearty, with a chunk of corn on the cob and chicken in it. The thick cut veggies were tender, not mushy and the broth was perfectly seasoned. I could not eat it all and had the leftovers for lunch on Saturday and it was just as perfect the second time around. As for the empanada, perfect! Thick pieces of chicken and fresh spices wrapped in a heavenly dough. I couldn't eat all of it and brought it home for a midnight snack. Still tender and wonderful hours later. The reason I could not eat all of my meals was that my dining partner and forever decided on the Swai fish with spinach soufflé and yucca. The tenderness of the lightly fried Swai and spinach soufflé was something my fork could not keep resisting. The creaminess of the soufflé left me wanting more. The yucca was tender and warm. Unfortunately, none of his meals made it home. This hidden gem is a few mere miles from home and I drive by it almost daily. Sadly, I did not try any desserts. I've had their sweets before and they are beyond delicious. I think I will stop by one morning this week and treat my office staff to their wonderful sweet morsels and do a post just on them. A wonderful find in Brandon and worth going back!

I stopped into Red Mesa for work lunch with a friend. I had the special Steak and Chorizo Quesadilla. It was really good. Their salsa has a smoky, chipotle flavor to it. Their guacamole is always on point!I've never been disappointed by a meal or service at this location. Highly recommend!

This little Cuban café and bakery was a delightful find! With over a hundred years of history, it's a true gem in Tampa. We started with a guava cheese pastry--huge, flaky, and bursting with flavor. It was the perfect sweet treat after our traditional Cuban sandwich. The sandwich itself was everything you'd hope for: a perfectly thin, crispy layer of bread, generous portions of meat, and that ideal mix of mayo, mustard, and pickles. Every bite hit all the right notes for a classic Cuban. We also tried the beef and cheese empanada. At first, I hesitated at the $5 price tag for a small empanada, but after one bite, it was clear it was worth every penny. It was generously stuffed with flavorful picadillo, seasoned ground beef with onions and peppers, giving it a surprising and delicious spicy kick at the end. Overall, the flavors were outstanding. This is definitely a place worth revisiting--an authentic Cuban bakery you'll want to return to again and again!

On my most recent visit to Tampa, I was looking for a quick lunch. My buddy in Houston recommended West Tampa Sandwich Shop. He said they have the best Cuban Sandwich he's ever had. I couldn't say no to that. Located in a residential community, they have a small parking lot so I ended up parking on the street. Upon walking in, you'll see this is a casual spot. No frills. Lots of locals and Cuban people. Upon being seated, I looked over their large menu. Naturally, I went with the Cuban sandwich. They have two sizes. I went with large as there wasn't much of a price difference between the two. If you've never had a classic sandwich like a Cuban, you need to get on that. And quickly. The combination of ham, pork, mustard, cheese, and pickles on nicely pressed and toasted bread always delivers. And West Tampa Sandwich Shop does it at a high level. You can taste the quality of the ham. They add mayo to it too. It's a damn good sammie. Along with my soft drink, I also did some ham and cheese croquettes as a side. Another Cuban go-to. Service was a bit slow but they were busy. And it was friendly service too. Definitely check them out for some authentic Cuban!

A friend brought me along for a late Saturday brunch--who could say no to flan?!Of course, I started with a café con leche. That hot coffee was exactly what I needed, especially on a chilly Florida morning. When it came to the main dish, I had a little dilemma--sandwich or biscuit? Since I don't eat eggs, I went with the biscuit to keep things simple. But after sneaking a bite of my friend's sandwich, I have to say... that crunch was everything I missed! So yes, I'll definitely be back for a sandwich, even without eggs!We were already stuffed, so we skipped the flan (tragic, I know). But hey, that just gives me the perfect excuse to return! The service was great, too. The staff at the counter took the time to suggest options based on my food preferences, which I really appreciated.Highly recommend--for a laid-back weekend brunch or a casual meal with friends

10/10 food and serviceWe got the classic Cuban, as well as their steak sandwich, both of which were phenomenal and had a generous portion of meat. The cilantro sauce on the steak sandwich was to die for, I got extra on the side to dip it in. Chips and a drink can be added to make a combo. They gave us a cortadito and cheeseburger empanada to try which was very nice of them. Both ended up being great and will be added to our order next time, with other empanada flavors to try. We have gone back twice since, highly recommend.

"This is my third time visiting this restaurant. Each time i am impressed. There is no problem parking. We were seated quickly even though it was Sunday at noon. We ordered our food and it was served quickly. The service was terrific. (Until the hubby started feeling ill. We asked our waitress if she could pack it up to go) when we got home, The food was excellent. My hubby had their cuban sandwich. I had the Grouper Supreme with plantains and clam chowder. It was amazing. I highly recommend this place."
"My wife grew up in Tampa, so she ate Cuban food on a weekly basis. She has had her favorites that she has taken us to, but for our stop here, this was a first for her.I don't have a refined palette for Cuban food, so it all tastes good to me, and based on that alone, I would highly recommend a Cuban sandwich, plantains, and rice and beans. Our kids also enjoyed the Arroz con Pollo, so that's always a plus when the kids are happy. My wife on the other hand has had a ton of Cuban food and while she thought most of it was decent (okay), she raved about the stuffed crab.We dined inside and it's a little divey, but we enjoyed the ambiance.Don't know if we'll be back, just because it's not close to the place we usually stay, but for what we got, we recommend you give it a shot!"
"Our Sunday after church with family, wife & I, eldest daughter, youngest daughter and two youngest grandkids. Visited on a recommendation from a friend and online ratings.Small but comfy, we found a table for 6 right by the window.I was surprised that a server came to wait on us. Mayte took our drink orders while we glanced at the menu. We decided on the Family Meal with Ropa Vieja and Pollo A La Plancha, with Yellow Rice and Black Beans. Grandkids also wanted Fries. We also ordered one each of Empanadas, Beef, Chicken and Spinach and an order of Mari-k-tas Plantain Chips.Shortly Mayte brought our Plantain Chips, followed by the assorted Empanadas. The Chips were great, fresh, hot and crispy. I divided the Empanadas into sections so all could try some. They were good, but not hot and had apparently been in the warmer I saw earlier. Disappointing since I was the one that really looked forward to them.Next came Cuban bread, crispy and terrific. Then our meals came. A huge bowl of yellow rice, a nice bowl of black beans, fries, and bowls of Ropa Vieja and Chicken A La Plancha. The meats were delicious, full of flavor. The rice was very good and the beans were the best I've ever had. And the fries were terrific, hot and crispy and super tasty. Bread was so tasty we had to order more. And of course Momma had to get desserts to share. The Rice Pudding was great, took me back to my childhood. The Flan was ok, not a big fan of Flan. Sadly they no longer have Tres Leche cake. The food was excellent and the service was great. Definitely the best Cuban food I've eaten in years. The only disappointment was the Empanadas. They can be pre-made and cooked fresh very quickly. But not enough to deter a 5 star rating. Another "must try" place."
"Good authenticate Cuban food. Great atmosphere. Quick and easy interaction with staff."
"5 starsPricePortionsConsistencyEat here way more than I should. The cafe con leche is the best in this area. They have rotating entree's that keep me from ordering the same thing every time. Spicy ropa, beef stew, grilled chicken & pepper steak are some of my personal favorites. Steak sandwich was my favorite before going gluten free....please find a gluten free cuban bread?"
"Delicious food & friendly service. Absolutely love the Fried Whitefish, Yellow Rice, Black Beans with the marinated onions and the olive butter...yum I have had their Cubans which are good and bean soup which is delish!! Can't wait to go back, next time I would like to try the Cuban Fusion Wrap!! Just wish they had table service and better ambiance but will definitely be back for the delicious grub!"
"My wife and I happened upon this place while visiting St. Petersburg and what a find. Very friendly and informative staff. We both ordered the El Habano Cubano Sandwich. A delicious combination of pork, ham, salami and Swiss cheese on Cuban bread. Unlike Cubanos we have had in the past, it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is delightfully decorated with Cuban paraphernalia."
"Secret amazing food spot! Doesn't look too incredible from the outside, but the food is on point! The building could be super amazing with a little renovation. Cuban food menu has all of the favorites and each little food detail was full of flavor. I highly recommend stopping here for a bite."
"This is a really wonderful place. Not our first visit but it had been a while. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and some combo fajitas. The Cuban sandwich was perfectly presented, crispy outside and had very fresh ingredients. The combo fajitas came out super hot, fresh tortillas, and they also brought a side of very fresh sour cream. Perfectly cooked, seasoned and delicious. Drinks are self serve and that works fine. If you like Cuban food, definitely eat here!"
"Found a new spot in a strip center in Dunedin. Fusion street eatery. It's close to downtown Dunedin. Parking is easy. But enough of location location location. We love anything birria and this spot popped up on FB because they spy on you. I'm glad they were spying on us this day because it lead us here. We ordered a few items and split everything to try, the birria fries, grilled cheese and a few tacos. everything was delicious. The dining area is small and it works. They have a selection of beers also. Will be here again !"
"Just a small little place in a strip mall. Like so many businesses in these malls you have to know where they are. Lucky for us we had a friend tell us about this place where we could get a real cup of Cuban coffee. It was fresh, hot and delicious. This is the place to go."
"EXCELLENT SANDWICH!! The best tasting and most reasonably priced Cuban sandwiches I've found in the Tampa area."
"Hubby and I ordered the Cuban Sandwiches today. Both were fresh and delicious. Yes, a little on the thin side but still tasty. The pork was juicy and delicious."
"This is 1Of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had. The bread was like a kings Hawaiian roll. Meat was so tender and tasty. I should have bought another one for the road and eat it tomorrow. Place is small and has a line but worth it. I'm in Ocala and I will drive back down there for this sandwich. Service was good for how busy they were. Just take your food over to the bar next door called tidal brewery and eat it. Comings back over and over. WOW"
"Stopped here recently for lunch. It looked good and got good reviews here on Yelp. Let me say we were not disappointed. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. You start out with picking a rice and then your sides and then a protein. I decided on spainish rice with sweet plantains and a garbanzo bean soup with the fried fish. Everything I got was good. Next time I would probably switch out the garbanzo bean soup. There were so many options certainly something for everyone. I also added a tamale. It was good but I would probably hold off on getting that again. The wife got a Cuban Sandwich. That was very good. The dining room is spacious and they had additional seating outside. I also saw a bar area which I would assume is open on the weekends. The service was good and prompt but limited if you don't know Spanish. We will totally be back."
"This place is amazing!!!!! My husband ate here for lunch with a colleague and could not wait to bring me here. He was not wrong we enjoyed a variety of options but the beef a cheese was by far our favorite. This particular location is a family owned location, the pride in ownership was so obvious. Their friendly nature and helpfulness was a joy not to mention you could eat off the floors it was so clean EVERYWHERE.... and they spoke to each other with such respect. We will be back again, I wish there were more places like this establishment ! BRAVO!"
"This paella is good for three, maybe 4 and is so delicious, just like my pineapple ginger monito. Banda Fonseca on Fri is great. We had a great time."
"Elena's is a wonderful gem in Lakeland, and certainly a hidden one. It's tucked peacefully into a corner strip mall on Edgewood Drive and is more than easy to drive past and never notice. That's what I did until I started working for DoorDash. This place is super popular on there and it's really a great option if you want that delicious Cuban food (and let's be real- you know you do).I've put in several pickup orders through DoorDash and they are always ready super fast. Currently Elena's drive thru is the only thing open so a to go order or delivery are your two options.Their empanadas are absolutely fantastic- the chicken one has tiny chunks of chicken with cheese and it just melts in your mouth. The guava and cheese is a classically incredible empanada as well that I have to get every time- there's no other option but TO get it. They have juices and smoothies as well- and predictably the guava one is fantastic, though they have other fun options like mango, passionfruit, and more. Their chicken and rice is really good and a lot of the entrees come with fried sweet plantains- those are uniquely wonderful. I really do love and recommend this place!"
"GREAT *authentic* Cuban food. Very flavorful and the owners are incredibly nice. Also, the restaurant is spotless - incredibly clean! A+ in my book."
"Es un restaurant de servicio rapido , comida criolla , la variedad es buena , quizas pueden mejorar mas el entorno y la calidad , pero es el mas barato de Tampa sin duda"
"I stumbled on this place while working in St. Petersburg. The owner was very friendly and the restaurant has been in business over 20 years. I came back later for a late lunch, and our waiter, Jesse, was helpful when I asked for recommendations. Pollo Ala Russa was my choice with Yuca and Caldo soup. The chicken was breaded and juicy, with small peas in a light very flavorful sauce. I really enjoyed the collard green soup with beans. It was something new for me to try and it made me happy. The Yuca had a Mojo sauce on it, which added extra flavor. They even served some warm Cuban bread before the meal.I will definitely find my way back to this great little restaurant. Maybe sit on the patio, try something else new. Price , service, and food are all a win. It's worth the drive."
"Great place that's been in business for over 38 years. Located in a strip mall as part of a gas station, they have cool decor with so many different types of sodas displayed on the walls. They have a counter where you order your sandwich or salad and they make it, you pay for it and there's about 8 tables inside to sit at inside. They have one of the best Cuban sandwiches and have a fun challenge to see if someone can eat a 36 inch Cuban sandwich. I had the Greek salad with delicious dressing, nice and fresh. Service was awesome, efficient and super friendly. Reasonable prices as well. Open Monday to Saturday 10am to 8 pm, closed Sundays."
"Gotta get that authentic Cuban food when I'm in Florida. Got me some fried green plantains, goat, beans and rice, and fried ripe plantains. I could seriously see ripe fried plantains everyday, they're so freakin good. My friend took me to get Cuban food while I visit. I don't think he's tried much Cuban food before. It was very authentic, at least as authentic as my-lack-of-perspective-self can understand. I want more already."
