You're probably thinking that I've had better boba tea in NYC, but that's DEFINITELY not the case. I've tried time and time again, but Green Island's variety and the perfect texture and flavor of the boba pearls is unbeatable. They have so many different milk substitutes, different milk teas, smoothies, frozen yogurt, and even sushi!! My favorite drink is the Honeydew milk tea with boba. I've also tried the Taro Milk Tea, Thai tea, passion fruit black tea, and many many others. They're all amazing! The prices are average, ranging from $3-$6 per drink based on your customizations, and what not. The staff is super quick with their mixing, and your order is ready in no time! They've also handled the pandemic very well, with phone orders and pick-up.Green island has been my treat for a decade now, go treat yourself too!"

The kiwi punch was tasty too. Our total came to just under $67. The staff here are pleasant and readily available. It's no secret that we will be back sooner than later."

Karen R. "Food was good. Service was ok as well. My husband and I asked the waitress if there was any sesame in the food we were ordering, we were told no (by her and from the kitchen). We let her know my husband had a serious allergy to sesame seed or sesame oil. However, we were told again and again that there was no sesame seed while my husband was getting red like a tomato and choking and out of breath. Worriedly, I asked if the peanut sauce for the summer rolls or the spicy beef pho my husband was eating came with sesame oil. While I kept asking if there was sesame seeds or oil in the food we were eating, the lady kept telling me again and again that it could be the spiciness and I kept repeating my husband is used to eating spicy. After a while, the chef came and mentioned the peanut sauce for the summer rolls came with a bit of hoisin sauce and my husband had read the bottle on the table. Indeed, the hoisin had the sesame oil. The waitress took off the sandwich we ordered along with the pho. That was ok but it doesnt compensate. While it started as innocent dinner, it turned out to be a scary situation. To Saigon Cafe, please make sure you know the ingredients in the food. This could have turned into a tragic event. Thank goodness, it did not!"

So, price-wise it was a bit steep and the staff seemed very busy, not too engaging. The teas themselves were beautifully presented with whipped cream tiger striping on the inside of the cup and oreo crumbles inside and on top. I was nervous to order because I'm lactose intolerant and the menu didn't do a great job of describing which items were non-dairy and the staff member seemed a bit rushed to go over it with me so I just gave up and will have to try again next time. Reliability and consistency, fresh quality ingredients, friendly staff with great service inside or to go, plus allergy friendly. I switch hit the 2 Scoop protein and 3 Scoop protein bowls with slightly different toppings combinations. Depends on whether or not I can pick just two. Both are hefty portions for me so I'm getting leftovers either way. The leftovers fare well. I'm kind of addicted to spicy mayo, so I can't vouch for the other sauces. I'll probably try them someday though. They still don't serve gluten-free soy and/or tamari, so I use my own. I learned there is additional parking behind the plaza, which is clutch since the front is a busy takeout scene."

Bret I. "We live in Tallahassee but visit St Pete often. And every time we do we stop at the Thuy Cafe to pick up lunch to eat on our ride back home. We are in a rut, but it's a good rut: we always get the Vietnamese Specialty Banh Mi. It's a traditional Banh mi made with pork sausage (cha lua), pâté, a combo of pickled daikon and carrot, cilantro, cucumber and jalapeño. And it's served on an absolutely perfect French baguette. It makes for a wonderful sandwich to eat while driving. If you want to eat it later, ask them to put the veggies in the side; they'll put them in a plastic bag so the bread won't get soggy and you can put them on the sandwich when you are ready to eat. I also always get a Vietnamese iced coffee (caphe sua da). I know they have an extensive list of boba drinks, but the humble Vietnamese coffee (which does not include tapioca pearls), is the perfect accompaniment to the Banh Mi. This time we also tried an appetizer that looked amazing: soft dough rounds are topped with combo of pork and dried shrimp, sprinkled with egg yolk powder, with a small container of nuoc cham, the quintessential Vietnamese condiment that's sweet and salty. It was a little tough trying to eat them in the car (grabbed a bite at the frequent red lights on 34th street), but so well worth it. Can't wait to go back again!"

Joan L. "3 1/2 stars. Very interesting place! For me, if you list them, there were probably more things wrong than right with True Taste, but the one thing that mattered, the chicken, was truly good.....so upgrading to 4 stars. First, the good. Previous reviews criticized the chicken for being frozen. I don't know if the chicken was frozen. All I know is that the popcorn chicken took 10 minutes to cook to order. It was hot, crispy, juicy, and tasty. The chicken also came in a huge portion. Each portion is $6.99 (less if bought with combos). I thought there would be 5 or 6 little nuggets in each portion. Since we were starving and wanted to try different flavors, we ordered 3 portions. We were shocked when 3 huge tubs of chicken came out! The different "flavors" were a bit of a disappointment. They were just powdered toppings and kind of artificial tasting. Also artificial tasting? The bubble tea. This was some of the worst bubble I have ever had! I ordered the oolong tea. You could tell it was powdered and not fresh. At least 13 year old's vanilla flavor tea tasted a little better. The only seating are small counters and bar stools. It was fine for our quick late dinner, but this place might be better off with a few cafe tables and chairs. They do have the room. The lady at the counter did not speak much English but we were able to communicate well enough and she was eager to please. In summary, go for the chicken, not the bubble tea."

The prices are high when compared to other pho and poke places, but the amount of food you get is very little, comparably as well. The taste was also not as good - the pho broth tasted like they made it with vegetables or very little beef bones, and the poke was lacking in toppings. Other places include seaweed salad and masago, this places charges you $2+ for it as just a topping. Karen V. "I still can't believe we finally have a Ding Tea in Brandon. This is another boba tea shop that I've been wanting to try for a long time, and it's finally here. It's a welcomed addition to this side of Hillsborough County. I honestly don't think Brandon can have too many boba tea shops. Each shop has their own unique drinks and Ding Tea also has their own unique blends.I've visited twice in the last week. The first time was early on a Monday when they were just opening up. It's decorated nicely and with many flower arrangements they've received during their grand opening. I love that they have a display of drink options and toppings. It helps in making choices with different combinations. I decided to go with the popular taro monster boba tea. It comes with black boba but I opted for golden boba since I've never had it before. I also got the sea cream topping for an additional charge. I must have looked like an inexperienced boba drinker because the owner kept telling me to make sure I take a sip at the top before stirring it (or something like that). Now I know I'm a middle aged woman named Karen, and maybe not many of us Karen's drink boba. Hahaha... but that was nice of her to be concerned. Great service!Anyway, the flavors were so wonderful! The golden boba has a slight honey taste to it which I really like. The sea cream just elevated the taro flavor and made it extra creamy. I liked it so much that I went back in the middle of the week to try the grapefruit green tea. As many people know, this isn't a flavor that you see very often and I just had to try it. It was amazing! I think I'm hooked on it now because I've been craving it all day. I can't wait to go back and try more tea. They will also be bringing mochi donuts to Brandon soon. They look pretty and delicious in the pictures. It's also in a great location and easy to get to from Brandon Blvd since there is a traffic light at that intersection. It's in that old Brandon Lakes plaza with Krispy Kreme and Poke Falls. It's hard to miss as you're driving towards Outback Steakhouse. Oh, and I almost forgot. They also have a punch card so make sure you ask for it. I believe it's a buy 10 and get 1 free type of deal. It's so exciting nowadays to have so many options for boba tea lovers in Brandon."

You have to walk up to the counter to select your toppings, order, pay, and then you can so at whichever open table you'd like. There was 1 person in front of us and the wait was not long to order. The guy creating the orders was not too professionally dressed and had a ton of tats but he was nice. I got the Dynamite Bowl 2 scoops tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, green onion, mixed greens, carrot, wakame seaweed, masago, tempura flakes, and spicy mayo sauce for $15.95 which is a bit higher than average but the serving size was large and the dish was tasty. Ayoki's ambiance has an old school run down 80s vibe that makes this spot not ideal for a date. There's brown wood paneling on the walls and nasty old brown tile, ugly uncomfortable brown chairs, and no booth seating. The restaurant could use a serious renovation. The lighting is also bright and not dim or romantic. There's a lot of more modern poke spots with nicer interior decor that cost less than Ayoki. However, the serving size was pretty large and it didn't take too long to get my order."

This place is literally walking distance from my work which could be a bad thing for my wallet!! Today is soft opening so all drinks are $3.99!! I may just have to double fist some teas lol. Go check out with me!!!So their matcha and most of the milk teas are made ahead so you can't customize the sugar or the milk type. You can get the brown sugar milk tea though and customize that one. So given this I obviously didn't get the matcha. Wish they didn't make ahead of time. However I will be back for their fruit teas. Had the Islander today which is Jasmine Green with mango, passion fruit and pineapple. Love that it comes with fresh sliced orange and mango in it. I ordered no sugar and it was perfect. Hint of sweet and their jasmine is not overpowering if you know what I mean. What I disliked was the amount of ice in this thing.
