Buddy Brew - Hyde Park

One of my favorite places to grab a latte in Tampa Bay! I have fond memories of going to the Buddy brew in downtown tampa while I was an intern. They make their own syrups, my favorites are lavender and pumpkin spice. I wish their food options were more tasty, but I'm giving it 5 stars since it never disappoints on its main item, the coffee!

They had this ube muffin that was outstanding, unfortunately only a limited time item but I'm hoping they bring it back.

Devin made the most beautiful heart latte for me on this special Valentine's Day!!! Everyone here is so incredibly friendly and the coffee is superb! Love this place.

I'm not sure that it's the best thing when a dog sits on the tables people eat that it's been over 25 minutes and the people behind the counter have not said anything to the owner of the animal at what point does a person feel entitled as opposed to wrong?

Cool space. Quick service. Was not impressed by the drink. First visit so I should try their regular coffee drinks and why three stars instead of two. I also got it to go and should have tasted before I had gotten in the car and driven off. The drink sounded refreshing and I have had something similar at other shops but this was almost undrinkable. The cardamom flavor was non-existent and the tonic was way bitter and the espresso over extracted / bitter. The tonic should help balance out the acidity in the coffee but it was just a bitter bomb. Lots of people seem to enjoy this place so weigh my bad experience with a grain of salt. If there is a next time for me I will avoid anything that says "special"

Haven't had Buddy Brew in quite some time, but was looking for some holiday vibes where I could sit and work on Christmas Eve. Location:- This location is great if you want to stroll around a little, grab a bite to eat, do some shopping, etc. If you're looking for a quiet spot to do work, bring headphones. Because this location is in the middle of Hyde Park Village, it's busy!Service:- The service was great. Staff and friendly and given how busy this location is, I got my drink quickly.Coffee:- I ordered a hot lavender latte. The flavor was delicious. The latte was well made and not incredible hot where you have to wait forever to drink it.Overall, nice spot, would come back.

I love Buddy Brew - not a fan of their Matcha. I didn't want a coffee so I decided to go with tea today. I confirmed their Matcha is unsweetened, simply just the Matcha and ordered that. I watched the barista who made my drink squeeze a dull green substance into a cup and added ice/water. It didn't taste good and I ended up not drinking much of it at all. High quality Matcha is generally briiiiight green, and I think this may just be a less-than quality of tea. That combined with the fact it's pre-mixed, maybe impacted the taste? Buddy Brew does food and coffee VERY well and I'm definitely a huge fan so not a huge deal, I just won't order the Matcha again. My dad loved his Nitro Cold Brew and it was a beautiful day outside in Hyde Park Village, and I honestly do love this location very much.

This was my first time at a Buddy Brew and it was ok. My cousin and I met dor breakfast and this is close to where she lives and where kI had to be later that day. I was deciding between quiche and a sandwich and went with the quiche because it sounded good. It was just ok. Mostly crust, good crust but still, I could hardly taste the eggs much less the leeks and other ingredients that made me order it. My cousin's BLT looked much better. As for coffee, I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte. Call me basic if you must but I freaking love pumpkin and all things fall. Anyway, could hardly taste the pumpkin or spice. I am kind of a coffee junky who gets coffee at the big chains, local chains and small mom and pop places and I make iced coffee at home with flavored creamer as well so to me, the coffee was the most important thing. Again, it was ok.

When I first moved to Tampa, I'm not sure I understood the hype behind Buddy Brew... but now that I've gone a few times, I can whole heartedly say that I have joined the cult and am ADDICTED. I love it so much! They are SO consistent, no matter which location you go to (and they are all cute cafes with good parking options and great service with fantastic baristas). I love love love the taste of their espresso. And they make my favorite drink perfect each time (highly recommend iced vanilla with oat milk, half sweetened). Also love coming here for a nice ambience to study in.

We came in for espresso, and it was good, basically what we expected. We received fast service. Free cold ice water at the station was appreciated on a hot day. I didn't see anything gluten-free on their menu, so I didn't tey any food, but I provided a photo for those interested.
