Boriken Deli at Lakeland Square Mall in Lakeland has delicious and flavorful food. I really like the location and everything that they have available here on their menu. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need.

I've ordered from this restaurant twice, and both times I've been disappointed.The first time: the tostones were extremely salty. Salty to a point I couldn't even eat them. Rice had no flavor and meat was salty too. They wanted to charge me for a cup of water when I specifically told them the food was salty and needed more water to wash the food down. The second time: I actually ordered from DDASH. I ordered 2 meals. Well they canceled one of them and no notification was given to me I had the tostones (thinking it would be different this time around ) with rice beans and grilled chicken. And my food tasted like nothing. Super bland chicken, rice, beans, I've cooked with wayyy more flavors and I'm not even close to a professional. I was so disappointed and threw the food out for the cats to eat. I was actually happy that I could eat authentic Hispanic food right by my house but sadly it's been a consistent thing so hopefully I can find another place with food that has better quality.

I was so excited to see at the mall an area that said Boriken Food. Yes!!! I would love to support my people, if I can. Unfortunately, when I got home I saw the man that seemed nice short changed me and my husband's plate. Let me start from the beginning. I came up to the stand he was servicing 2 couples. The man didn't greet me right away, that is not good customer service skills. So I said let me go to the restroom and come back to give him a chance with the couples. He still was working with the couple when , I came out. Finally when they left he greeted me, okay he is not good at customer service. We chatted I told him this is my first time and I came far. So I ordered pernil, white rice and red beans. I ordered rice with pigeon peas and pernil for my husband. The plate is suppose to come with one meat 2 sides. Well my husband had a meat and rice and the man didnt tell me I was entitled to another side. On my plate I guess beans and rice not considered together. I told him 2 pasteles when I got home only had 1. He gave me very little red beans for all the rice. The pernil had so much grease very little meat that it was not enjoyable. One positive the beans had good flavor, but I had very little. I had a big piece of grease from meat on top of my beans, yuck. It is crazy, I was trusting the man to serve me good. Well next time not going to be trusting when ordering at another restaurant The pernil skin was not crunchy the way it should be We had 80%percent fat no meat. I paid 26.00 and change but not worth it. 1 positive the flan was good, but usually you can't mess up sweets though I have seen that too. Wanted to try something new, oh well.

The lady would not give me a cup of water after my friend and I had just ordered food and had a nice conversation with her and then her kids got thirsty. I would have even paid for the cup itself. She was very rude and kept saying "only bottles". I told her that was illegal and she just kept repeating "only bottles". Food was okay, nothing great, even for having pretty low expectations as it's in the food court.

I've been here for the 3rd time and each time I hope the food would get better. Today I ordered pernil and rice n beans. The beans looked flavorful but bland . Very very bland. To be honest the baked chicken was the only appetizing thing I bought. For sure wont be coming back here again. Done learned my lesson

Excellent food! I don't really have time for cooking so this has been the best alternative for my daily meals. My whole family loves it. The food really is authentic and tastes just like if my grandma made it.

I have only had the empanadas. They are perfect. Staff is very polite, and helpful. They didn't seem to mind all the questions my family had.

Tried ordering from the posted menu, but everything we selected was unavailable. Asked what we COULD order and they pointed to the hot foods at the front counter. Nothing was labeled. I picked the chicken "stew" -- basically baked chicken, yellow rice/beans, tostones (plantains). The chicken was bland, but the rest was good. My daughter had ribs (one), white rice, tostones. The rib had very little meat on it; the rice was very dry and could have used some flavor or sauce. Not a great experience, but we'll try them again another time.

The rice with peas and tostones were delicious! The pollo was a bit salty but good with the rice and beans. I'm new to Puerto Rican food so no expert but this was definitely a cut above typical mall food court fare.

Autentic puertorican food! Food is delicious with many options in the menu. Good portions at reasonable prices. Auténtica comida puertorriqueña! La comida es deliciosa con diferentes opciones en el menú. Buenas porciones a precios razonables.
