The taro cakes have an interesting starchy texture. You never know what you may find in this store.

Very interesting Korean market place. Mostly Korean stuff. But it has many Korean grocery don't have. The store basically has 4 wings. It is included the fresh produce, kitchenware, frozen food, miscellaneous. We were here for a chop knife oriental style. This place has a stainless steel chop knife we like. It has the weight to cut the bone and chop the vegetables. We got everything we need including the turtle chip that hard to find the Bay Area. Shopping is a success. Place is decent and carry much of the thing not normally don't find in Korean stores.

I stopped by the market to pick up a couple of things. It was recommended to me by a friend. It's extremely well stocked.I was able to find everything I needed. The prices were very reasonable. My son really enjoys the Japanese soft drinks and he was able to find so many different ones... as the the selection was incredible. I really enjoyed perusing this place and I will definitely return and highly recommend.

We found this place by accident. We were looking for a restaurant (found out it's a food truck) and came upon this Asian grocery in Brandon, FL. Thank you Lord! What a wonderful place to visit. There are other Asian markets in the Tampa area and they all have their good and bad qualities. However, this one checks all of my boxes. BOM Oriental Market is kind of out of the way. It has a good sized parking area which has a few food trucks surrounding it. The key thing about this place is that it is organized well, clean and carries a large variety of the types of foods and ingredients that we use regularly. And the service is friendly, helpful and professional. They had everything that we needed (we were planning on shopping someplace else). And their prices are reasonable. The one thing that may be lacking is a butcher and seafood shop. They have frozen meats and seafood and people always are looking for fresh meat/seafood. However, I am going to give them a pass because everything else was fantastic. So, visit when you have the opportunity and see what BOM has to offer. I don't believe you will be disappointed. Enjoy!

What a cool place to get unique grocery finds! I didn't even get to venture to the back of the store where they have appliances and hair/face products. I will next time. All I can say is that the store itself is very clean and without any of those funky smells you get at the other oriental market on Adamo. That is a big plus for me. It's smaller than its competitor, but at least I can shop comfortably and not have to breathe through my mouth the entire time. They have an extensive variety of Korean, Japanese, and Filipino items. I was shocked to find Nestle Kit Kat bars in various different flavors. I didn't even know it was a thing in Japan. So much so that they created flavors such as matcha, sake, wasabi, purple sweet potato, and various fruit flavors. I didn't see every single flavor at the market today but I'm sure they are seasonal and will be brought in when it's available. I got the raspberry flavored Kit Kats and they are amazing. They actually taste like natural raspberries to include that tart and tangy aftertaste. They also had choco pies which are the Korean counterpart to moon pies. I saw at least 3 different flavor varieties. I also saw various different brands of crab and prawn crackers. I got the ones that were made with real shrimp. They were crispy and tasty. The best part was that all items were very reasonably priced.Yes, they have more items such as homemade kimchi, ice cream, produce, rice & noodles, hot sauces, and so on. I just didn't have a whole lot of time since my main reason for the visit was to get Hawaiian goodies from the food truck in their parking lot. I'm so happy to have experienced the market and the food truck. I'll be back for more goodies.

I saw that someone mentioned Uwajimaya in Seattle. This little store definitely is not Uwajimaya nor H-Mart but it is perfect if you just need a few things and need to get in and get out. I thought by the size of the parking lot that it was going to be a bit larger than it actually is in the inside. When I stepped through the entrance and looked left then right and saw the store was just about the length of a single-wide mobile home which was then again cut in half as the pharmacy/freshly prepared food section takes up one half and the actual dry goods part takes up the other half. I went in to find some gochugaru (red chili pepper flakes) for making kimchi. I was going to try Wal-Mart but my mind told me to not even attempt to go anywhere else besides an Asian/Oriental market since gochugaru is kind of specific. I went up and down the four short aisles of the dry goods section and was a bit miffed when I did not find the red pepper flakes. They had several different kinds of gochujang (red pepper paste). So I picked up one of the hotter tubs and continued to walk endlessly up and down the aisles to make sure I had not overlooked the lack of red chili pepper flakes or powders. Then, I decided to stop being ridiculous and ask the cashier. She was so friendly and walked me over to the correct section. I completely did not notice the covered walkway that goes outside and into the adjoining building right next to the store. I thought it was for employees. It literally was a whole new world of things in the adjoining building. There were frozen foods, bottled and canned drinks, rice cookers and other kitchen appliances, rock sugar, seasonings, teas, and so much more. It's kind of odd that they didn't just build a wall to join the two buildings but I guess a covered walkway does the trick for now. I opted for a big bag of red pepper flakes so I can just make kimchi for the year and I picked up a few other things as well. The prices were great and very reasonable and I'm glad I was able to find exactly what I came in for.

My son showed me this little shop in Brandon. In Seattle I used to frequent a giant market called Uwajimaya's so I was excited to do some shopping. The store is clean , a bit cluttered, but quaint. There is a section for sauces, dry goods, produce and frozen items in the first section. You can buy some things you can experience for the first time such as sodas and candies or get some savory items. ( They also have frozen whole fish in the case if you are looking for seafood.)There is a little walkway to the back section and there are more treasures to explore. They have rice cookers, bamboo steamers and other gadgets for purchase in this section as well as a variety of rice from different farms and a case with prepared foods like dim sums. Their spice selection is limited and and similar to Publix however I was able to find a small packet of Saffron for a good price. For the area, and based on other options around me, I give 4 stars to this little hidden store off Paul's road in Brandon..
