Bocelli Modern Italian

Excellent experience. We were a group of 6. They have a large menu with a great selection of cocktails. The service was attentive, and the food came out quickly. We had everything from lasagna to chicken parmesan to seafood pasta, and all had some sort of cocktail. Everyone loved it! Parking was challenging.

I want to preface by mentioning that we visited this restaurant on Valentine's Day, so our experience on a different day might vary. My initial impression of the restaurant was that it boasts an attractive location, albeit with limited parking availability. I faced considerable difficulty finding a parking space. Additionally, while we were checked on a few times, we felt quite overlooked in the outdoor area of the restaurant, particularly when compared to the lively ambiance inside, which featured jazz music and a larger number of waitstaff. Additionally, we weren't really greeted nor taken care of by the large smiles and enthusiastic waitresses/staff you would expect from a restaurant like this.  Now, regarding our experience, we started with the garlic knots, which were among the top three I've ever tasted. They offered a unique twist, featuring a volcano-like breading that encased cheese, served with a deliciously slightly sweet marinara sauce that paired beautifully with the garlic knots. The crusty exterior added an extra layer of flavor, making it undeniably the highlight of the meal. Next, we ordered the Sopressata Pizza, which was impressive. The combination of large pepperoni and the sweet honey glaze on a crunchy crust provided a delightful experience that I highly recommend. The addition of parmesan and red pepper flakes delivered finishing touches that resulted in a deep and flavorful bite, with a sweet aftertaste. For the main course, we chose the Cavatelli alla Vodka and the Fria Diavolo pasta. Starting with the Cavatelli, it was satisfactory, though not the best I've ever had; I found it a bit sweeter and less robust than I expected, and I would have liked a more pronounced flavor, maybe with the addition of basil or garlic. However, those who enjoy alla vodka pasta, which I typically do, will likely find it enjoyable. Regarding the Diavolo, it was a commendable dish but slightly more fishy than anticipated, more so than one might expect considering the seafood content. The flavor and aroma were quite pronounced, and for those who are not fond of that fishy profile, it might not be the best choice. Overall, while the pasta was good, it did not show the expected level of spiciness and intense flavor associated with its name. Each bite felt somewhat like a spaghetti dish with seasoned scallops and shrimp in a slightly tangy sauce. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the portions of pasta were very generous, and the service was satisfactory. The ambiance, especially in the outdoor area, left something to be desired. Yet, overall, we had a very pleasant experience and would highly consider returning. Food: 7.34/10; Ambiance: 6.5/10; Service: 5/10

Food is great.Ambience is great, the venue and live music is always fantastic.Service has slid. Way down. From 5 to 2 stars. They're now inattentive and basically ignore customers. Used to be good, now it's a challenge to get someone's attention.Great food though, still. Good job guys!

My family and I decided to come here for my husband's birthday dinner. The ambiance and service were great. There is seating inside, outside and at the bar with several tv's playing sports. We ordered the lasagna bolognese, build your own pizza, bada boom shrimp and fettuccine alfredo. The lasagna was really delicious and definitely my favorite. The fettucine alfredo was very disappointing.. not much flavor. Overall: glad we came to try out a new restaurant however there is better Italian in the area so I don't see myself coming back.

We went for a quick dinner tonight & were sat immediately. We ordered the bruschetta which was good, bread was delicious. For dinner we had the chicken parmesan & the half order of Cavatelli vodka also delicious. 1/2 portion was perfect size. Service could've been a little more personal but overall good experience.

We love our neighborhood restaurants and Bocelli's is one of our favorites. The staff, the food and the ambiance are all 5 star!

I consistently have a great experience here at Bocelli! The food is always delicious, and we particularly enjoy the pizza, pastas and chicken parm. However the vibes are what really keep us coming back. The restaurant has a great ambiance and there is usually some great live music on the weekends. They also have a decent happy hour. It can get very busy so I wouldn't come here without a reservation.

The cavatelli vodka pasta leaves much to be desired. The noodles are overcooked (for traditional Italian) and the sauce is bland. With the plethora of Italian restaurants in tampa, I would recommend somewhere else based on this dish.

Great food. The ambiance/vibe is more American Italian than true Italian but makes sense hence the name. They ran out of house bread which was disappointing. I got the pasta alla vodka which was good. My gf got the pesto chicken gnocchi and the portion was very underwhelming. We counted 10 gnocchi pieces. I'm not sure how that would leave the kitchen for almost a $30 entree. Service was good, we was very attentive.

Great neighborhood atmosphere, perfect patio to bring the dog. The fireplace when it's cooler provides the perfect ambience. I love their spicy margarita and always enjoy their live music.
