The service is wonderful and the view is all about old Florida. We love to sit on the deck to look at the river and see fishing trawlers, alligators, turtles, manatees, hawks, bald eagles, otters etc. BUT bring bug spray - they are brutal. If Bobbi is working the bar get her specialty drink - pistachio martini.

This is a great restaurant right on the water with a lot of big windows so everyone can look out over the window. We came for lunch, and the prices were reasonable with a lot of good options. I got the shrimp tacos which were nice and the green beans with bacon and parmesan cheese made a healthy dish a bit more fun. In our group, the grouper sandwich was a big hit as well as the shrimp and grits and mac n cheese. There was something for everyone. We were glad to get a table for our large party, and service was good even though it took a while (which was as expected). It was nice to be able to walk out on the dock outside. The food and the ambiance was great, and this is a nice little gem in the area.

What didn't go well...nothing, absolutely nothing ...what a perfect meal, Daniel was our server and he is five star...no reservations tonight and the parking lot was packed...Oh Boy...we were greeted promptly and seated...huh Trivia Night but not in the dining space! I will give a warning bring a sweater, hoodie or a parka as the dining area is really air conditioned...otherwise and armed with cold weather clothing it was all good! Hubby ordered the Shrimp Alfredo and I went for the filet with the Demi Glacé and Spinach....we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our well crafted meals....and needed up taking home Red Velvet Cupcakes...it was like tasting my Mom's....can't wait to go back!

It was a busy Saturday night and despite many earlier attempts we obtained a reservation via phone only on Friday. They could not get us in until 6:30pm for our party of 4. We missed out on the sunset, but we have been there before. Here, the menu is formatted in such a way that the proteins are all listed, with a list of possible preparations below. Some of this didn't make sense. Would you order ribs with a red wine mushroom demiglace? Several of the preparations seemed kind of complicated, I found a couple that didn't have anything I don't like and I was thinking of getting a steak. I'm not that picky, but I don't' want piccata on my steak for instance. The waiter, Todd, came and my mom was ordering the grouper with the demiglace and mashed potatoes preparation. He recommended not doing something so heavy handed, so mom just got it blackened. None of us realized that was an option - and the two that were ordering ribs felt that made a lot more sense than getting ribs with another cheese topping. So they both got the ribs and my hubby got the sautéed spinach. I really liked that and I took most of it away from him. It was really fresh, nicely seasoned and not too much butter.Mom loved her grouper and green beans. She's not a big eater but she finished her fish and took a lot of green beans home. My uncle really liked his mac and cheese and ribs. He ended up taking about half home. And my hubby cleaned his plate - two racks, with my help on the spinach. Here I'll put a note about sides. All the sides on the menu looked really good. You get just one with an entree but not any if you order from the chef's specialties section which is mostly pasta. It does't say how much you'd have to pay for a second side. Also, my mom bought a piece of cornbread that was $2.50. My pasta, strangely, had come with cornbread. Maybe I misread the menu, but I was expecting toasty French bread. I don't like corn bread but by the time that was sorted, mom had already ordered hers. So my hubby ate mine.I got the shrimp Alfredo which I noticed has been on there for a long time. Todd suggested spicing it up a little, Cajun style, and that was really delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and plentiful, medium large shrimp were nestled in nicely cooked pasta. There was plenty of sauce for me to have with the spinach, hubby's side dish.As mom noted, although the food here has gotten more upscale, the dress of the patrons has remained home casual. Come as you are.The food was good, the service was excellent considering the party of 12 next to us and the bar tables he was also handling. Todd was very knowledgeable about the menu choices and made great recommendations.

#weddingWe went to Blackwater Grill and Bar for my uncles wedding and it was delightful! Sadly, we didn't get to order from their menu. I plan to go back there with my husband for a date night to really explore the various styles of food they offer. The atmosphere is welcoming and with a touch of ambiance. The views of the Withlacoochee river are particularly nice. We were served various courses of some of the most popular menu items. The chicken was super delicious. The steak was tasty and juicy as well. My husband enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms so much he went back for thirds! Be warned that this restaurant is basically in the middle of nowhere! I think it adds to the charm. You feel like you've found something special when you arrive. It maybe a little out of your way but, it's well-worth the drive.
