This spot near the water was delicious. Friendly quick service. The view of the boats coming and going out was scenic and relaxing. Janis our order taker was delightful. Chef Q and chef Sam know what they are doing. The grouper sandwich was huge. It was moist and flavorful topped with a soft bun. The Sammy comes with garlic fries which were average. The grouper Caesar salad was just as delicious but without a bun. We also ordered the grouper nuggets with a sweet Thai chili sauce. Overall I'd definitely return to this spot.

Great for a quick informal lunch, lots of stuff on the sandwich so the fish is muddled. Fries were great, quick and scenic lunch spot on the water. Great window service, hard to complain for a fast food bite.

The outdoor seating by the alter was awesome. This place has a walk up counter where you order. We went for lunch and the service was super fast. The portions were huge! I got a blackened shrimp burger with Parmesan cheese fries. Everything was great.

First meal back in Tampa, and overall, it didn't disappoint! I ordered a Cuban sandwich with a side of garlic Parmesan fries, and everything was made fresh, cooked to order, and served piping hot. As I approached the counter, I was struck by the lovely surroundings--the seating area offered a stunning view of the river, dotted with boats gliding by, adding a peaceful, scenic backdrop to the meal.I originally expected a more traditional pairing of a classic Cuban sandwich with regular fries, but to my pleasant surprise, I was informed of more elevated options like Parmesan fries and other tempting sides. I opted for the garlic Parmesan fries, hoping for a burst of garlicky goodness. While the fries were perfectly crispy and well-seasoned, I was disappointed that they lacked a strong garlic flavor--there was barely a hint of it. However, they were still enjoyable, especially with their crunchy exterior and soft, fluffy inside. The real star of the meal, though, was the Cuban sandwich. The bread was perfectly toasted, giving it a satisfying crunch, while the meats inside were flavorful and well-balanced, creating that perfect combination you'd expect from a quality Cuban sandwich. I didn't order a drink since I had my own, but sipping my beverage while enjoying the serene riverside view really added to the experience. This spot struck me as an ideal location for a casual date or a relaxed lunch. The atmosphere was welcoming, the views were charming, and even though the birds might wander over to eye your meal, they're harmless and add to the laid-back vibe. The service was also commendable. The young lady at the counter was polite and helpful, and my food arrived quicker than I anticipated.I'll definitely be returning to try more items on the menu, and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a pleasant meal with a scenic view in Tampa.

Cute place to eat by the water. I haven't been to Tampa since 1996 and I don't think they had the Riverwalk back then. It was nice to walk around, although it got super hot since I am from the north. I am not used to the hot and sticky weather. Big Ray's is outdoor seating where you can buy food and nonalcoholic drinks. The place across the way is a bar where you can bring the food that you bought from Big Rays.I ordered the grouper nuggets with sweet Thai chili sauce. The chili sauce brings out the flavor of the grouper. It was just enough for me. I don't like eating heavy food when it's 90 degrees outside. They do have nice seating and it's clean overlooking the water.

Trying to find a place nearby the Tampa Convention Center, we walked in the rain to nearly Big Ray's to grab lunch. If the weather didn't involve constant rain, the overall experience would have been better for sure since we had to scramble to find a dry space to eat. Ordering was straightforward and the person taking orders was friendly but getting our food from the window was on the slower side. I appreciated getting an electronic order tracker to know when our food was ready. The conch fritters were crispy on the outside but felt undercooked on the inside and the dipping sauce was overly sweet for our taste. The oyster po'boy was definitely better with reasonably plump oysters, but lacked enough seasoning and could have been fried longer to get the crunch. It was accompanied with a mayo-based sauce and served with a pineapple cabbage cole slaw that was crunchy and well seasoned.Big Ray's was fine for lunch in a pinch, but there are higher quality seafood places in Tampa for this price point.

Ok..... I'm a huge fan of grouper nuggets...but not these.... They were overcooked and lacked seasoning. So the reviews I read before making mine, were accurate. The onion rings were DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! Seasoned AND cooked to perfection. Some of the best I've ever had!!! I so wish I could take some home on the plane ride with me!! The shrimp were huge but sadly lacked flavor as well. It was first time trying conch fritters and I must say they were delicious!! There are no refills on drinks. You order at the window and retrieve your food yourself. As others have stated, the view is amazing!

I absolutely loved this! This was $20 and it smoked the $100 meal i had at ahem jacksons. I ate it on the water in rhe rain. People feed birds on the patio because they were kind of pushy birds who really wanted my plump shrimp. I could not finish this meal it was so big...i couldnt take it with me tho because i had a room with no way to heat it. I am an onion ring snob and these were delish.
