Good food, friendly staff good prices. Hand battered fried mushrooms were excellent.

We walked in on a Friday night at about 5. On the way there, I was a bit anxious because I didn't think we'd find a good seat. The last time I went, a couple of years ago, it was packed. This time, my anxiety about finding a seat was unwarranted. There were plenty of seats available at the bar, and everywhere else too. We should have left. The service was average, at best. It was way too bright. More like an emergency room than a restaurant. The food was absolutely disgusting. I told the bartender. He didn't offer me anything else. He didn't ask if I wanted to see the manager. He didn't take anything off my bill. He just said, "yeahs that's why I always get the beef on weck". I ate about half of the brisket sandwich because I was starving but I couldn't eat anymore. It was bland, overcooked, and tough. The fried mushrooms were drenched in grease. I love fried food and I don't mind some grease, but this was way too much. I can tell the cooks don't care, the bartender doesn't care, and the new owners don't care. They will be out of business in a year unless Restaurant Impossible or Kitchen Nightmares rescues them. I really hope they go under because they have to know they are serving garbage.

We use to visit Jim's all the time. It's probably been a year since we've been back. Tonight we experienced such poor everything we will probably never return. The food was not as it was! It came to the table slightly warm. The wait staff was overwhelmed and we had terrible service. I finally got our salads 40 mins after we arrived and 2 mins after dinner was served. Will not return and with all these new restaurants around- we have other choices that are definitely better. Jim's I am guessing isn't as famous anymore.

I've been here a few times over the years, always received good service and delicious food.Got to say, that's not what I received two weeks ago.I say two weeks, because I don't like to 'fly off the cuff's as my Gramma used to say.But here was my disappointing experience.The service, was wonderful as always.Except she didn't bring setting (knife, fork, spoon and napkins) or bread and butter until I requested it. The rolls were warm, but the 'butter' was freezer cold. And it was margarine. What steak house serves margarine?!? The steak came out sizzling, but tough as a boot. A first for here. Have always gotten good tender and flavorful rib steak here. Not so, this time.That old saying, 'You get what you pay for!' certainly did not come through this time.Again, this was a first disappointing meal I've had here, and praying it won't repeat itself.

We ordered a fried Grouper sandwich & a Philly cheesesteak sandwich through DoorDash. The food was delivered hot & fresh. The Philly cheesesteak was great! No issues with it. Although it's about half the size of others, it was still plentiful. The fried grouper sandwich was a large piece of fish breaded in thick but RAW breading. I ended up picking most of the breading off cause it was so doughy. I also requested horseradish instead of tartar sauce but did not receive it. Both sandwiches were served with fries. I think they just rushed the order to be honest. I noticed our driver waited awhile for the order so I am guessing they forgot to check their online orders which caused a slight delay. No worries, it was only about 20 mins late but I think if they had seen the order in a timely manner, the breading may of been cooked thoroughly. I still recommend them & will definitely give them another try.

They were very accommodating with our large group. Friendly staff and had great recommendations with the menu. Would def recommend for a large group!

They've always been a bit overpriced in my opinion, but the food used to be better too. Menu changed, some really good items got chopped. Nice atmosphere, always great service. A good selection of drafts. Try the Beef on a Weck!

Y'all, Big Jim's Famous Steaks Tavern has the BEST Philly cheesesteak I've had since leaving New Jersey. I used to frequent Philly often and these Philly cheesesteaks are absolutely delicious! The bread is super soft and the fillings are delicious. Perfectly executed and will give the best joints a run for their money. Go getcha some! Great service too.

I went here for lunch & tried the Philly cheese steak sandwich. It was delicious! I don't have anything to compare it too, but would definitely order again. Had great service from Jamie!

The place is not the same since new owners, food quality is no longer good, the service even worse. I used to go frequently but tried it twice since new ownership, I won't be back. Hopefully, they sell it back to original owner.
